The box is pretty neat searching This is not a plug and play card what so ever. Attempting to run it on WinXP and it SAYS it's compatible, however there is absolutely nothing in the manual saying which driver is for XP. Place in the CD (which there is no autorun.exe for any kind of drivers installation) Had to figure out by trial and error which card model I really had. Manually installed the drivers. Windows "reads" that there's a NetMos port on LPT2, yet nothing that I connect to it operates at all. I really should not have bought the cheapest model pci to parallel port card I could come across. My fault for thinking they were pretty considerably the similar.

Works fine after some fiddling Driver assistance stinks. Documentation isn't excellent either. The documentation with this is sparse. Right here's how I got it working in WinXP SP2:When you do the install in the "add hardware wizard," don't have it install automatically. As an alternative, choose to have the add hardware wizard search all removable media (make sure driver cd is in the drive). In the list of possible drivers to decide on from, do not pick the 9805 driver (they are the two listed 1st in the list). As an alternative pick the a single that says a thing like PCI Multi I/O controller. Make sure you choose the XP one particular (scroll ideal in that window to inform what OS it's for). After that's installed, there will be an error in a single of the devices listed below Ports in device manager. Get the drivers for the card off of the manufacturer's (SYBA) web site for the IT8875F card. Update the driver of the broken device making use of the WinXP drivers from the manufacturer's (Syba) web page. That got it working for me.

Works, perhaps even effectively, but the Drivers, see Cons. Be ready to devote hours figuring out why you're receiving PCI Bus errors and driver won't install properly. Had been it not for aslong80's previous post, I'd by no means figured it out.Save your self the hassle and acquire a accurate P-n-P card, money nicely spent. To not install seamlessly on WinXP is unforgiveable. As other people have stated I wanted to hold my aging Laserjet 4P around a handful of far more years and my new P35 MB had no parallel port. In contrast to aslong80, I had a NetMos 9805 chip and necessary its XP driver. aslong80 properly stated to scroll far right on the last dialog and pick the XP driver, it defaulted to Vista for me and their was NO XP driver. I selected the NT driver and it finally installed appropriately. When I connected the LJ 4P, XP quickly via up a balloon and installed the printer, printed a test page, at final!!!

Inexpensive, so I can just chuck it out and not bother RMAing the thingy. PITA to install/configure, doesn't function adequately afterwards. Don't waste your time with it folks. My scenario was comparable to Pretend Geek's, the only distinction is - even right after that install procedure it didn't work. The program startup became Truly slow (and I have the Q6600). It took up to five minutes to start my PCI wireless adapter card alone to perform. Printer test page printed immediately after about 5 minutes also, I began to consider it'll in no way come out. Finally I got tired of the nonsense, rolled back the process and removed the card. Now the rig is blazingly quick once more. So I'll get the USB to Parallel cable rather, possibly it'll function superior. As well bad I didn't do this from the really starting. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client, Thank you for selecting Syba. The issue you are having may be an IRQ conflict, please eliminate the card and re-insert into a unique PCI slot. All of our products come with at least 3 years warranty. Please don't hesitate to speak to us at support-us@syba.com if you have any challenge or query.Regards,Syba Buyer Service 824

Comments: I was supprised on how simple they had been to configure and use. The only challenge I am having is the system hangs when there are devices attached to all of them at the very same time.

None Very first of all the drivers for the card were not disk sent with card, when I found the drivers and got the card install the printer would not print via it. I put another pc to the printer and it printed so this card does not operate. I own a computer system shop and for something that ought to take 15 minutes, waste of my time and not worth the shipping to send back. Do not waste your money on this product

- Uncomplicated Installation- Fantastic documentation- Functions great - None With the newer computers not coming with parallel ports, this became the only viable route. Put the card in the computer system, loaded to drive, and away it went. Works straightforward, straightforward, and great! And of course NewEgg is generally awesome!

Plug and Play. Did not use their CD. Note Let the card install before you hook up your printer - may possibly trigger and concern. Following card installed - hooked up HP 1100 laserjet and recognized right away. Once again no need to use driver CD already on WIN XP. None, Yet.

Does every thing I essential it too. Works excellent as a port for my custom produced playstation two controller to Parallel Port adaptor.I use this port for music gaming and I can atest to the truth that it has absolutly no lag that can effect gaming when playing games that have really tight timing. None! If your motherboard doesnt have a P. Port OR you want one more one OR your motherboard's has failed then this is a best answer.

Got it for my old All-in-one printer/scanner/fax. Prints fine. Does not scan -- only get garbage printed. Legacy product for legacy parallel port. Moschip is the manufacturer. In moschip technical docs it clearly states ECP mode (bidirectional mode) does not work on Vista because of the way Vista allocates IO port addresses. I think it is a challenge with their driver.

Comment:
Win7 Pro & Ultimate, XP - have applied this port in all and by no means had any issues. I just require a uncomplicated parallel port to run old Oki printers and this works good. I think on XP I had it come across drvers on the disk but on Win7 it just finds and installs them. Have read critiques here about becoming inexpensive, not working, etc...I have not encountered those problems at all. I'm a system builder and discover this card to be dependable, easy to install and have not had one fail however. I almost certainly have some of this precise card that are at least a couple of years old and once again, no failures. None that I've found but once again, I'm using a basic pin printer (dot matrix). I believe, making use of XP, just pop the CD in and when it goes to install drivers just make certain the CD/DVD is 1 of the search paths. As I have installed a few of these and if it was a major hassle I would switch to another brand...but it hasn't been!
