This card works like a charm. The external sata is perfect for me. I've employed this below XP, XP MCE, XP Pro, & Vista-64. NEWEGG customer service. This card would not show up in my Bios so I could not install any boot-able SATA drives onto it, in all probability best for added storage HardDrives. This card would not show up in my Bios so I could not install any boot-able SATA drives onto it. I know the BIOS supports SCSI, so this thing is a junker in my opinion. I am a tech with over 10years encounter. Newegg was good sufficient to problem a refund for the card, and told me to preserve it. It's worthless to me due to the fact my case (a brand new shuttle) only supports three internal devices. In my case Sata HD, IDE HD, and SATA DVD+/-RW -Ram no need to have for the card. Couldn't refund shipping as it was paid directly to the reseller.

The package arrived inside a day or two of acquire. It is a mistake to purchase this device.Upon installation (drivers 1st, then physical device) it failed to read either my two disc drives (ata 133) and my external hdd (e-sata). It also, in it's attempt to fix what was a flawless partition on my e-hdd, ended up corrupting all of the information on it. HDD was best in the course of previous boot (via firewire) but the e-sata controller on this device malfunctioned and corrupted the information on my e-HDD. I disconnected my e-HDD, failed at my subsequent couple of attempts at getting the disc drives to function, and gave up. I would not dare to try to connect any of my internal HDDs to it via SATA.This controller is beyond faulty, it's sadistic. Following my very best attempt at Information recovery (still ended up losing a lot), I reformatted my E-HDD which is when once again working perfectly by way of F-400, F-800, E-SATA (different computer/controller) and USB. The controller was not intended for RAID, nor to access the main or secondary boot drives, merely for controlling storage and/or disc burning drives. It sucks one thing really profane. Terrific card dose what it says, utilized it to flash my xbox worked excellent. no issues at all. kinda uncomplicated card. wish it had additional connectors i wouldnt use this for raid and stuff but maybe just for additional sata connectors

I bought this card for one reason, to flash my Xbox 360. My on board SATA would not recognize the drive in my 360, but this card read it no issue. I flashed my drive with zero hassle. None for what I require it for. I'm not sure how fantastic this card is if you're looking to use it for connecting a tough drive to your PC or some thing like that, but for flashing an Xbox 360 DVD drive, it works fantastic.
