Very good looks, nice programmable buttens. Added scroll I attempted to get use to this mouse come to discover out its not me, this mouse is as half as smooth as my 1ǚ the value dell mouse.. Extremely disappointing in poor overall performance in fps games. I feel as it was incredibly jumpy, unstable and un comfy, i felt as my hand was tired holding it for like 3 games... The mouse has a "adjustable" weight technique, and unless you the hulk and wanna exercise during your game there useless, its already created of malf metal and heavy adequate. The adjustable palm rest is a horrible design and style, unless your the hulk with big hands, i have it on the shortest and i barley can reach all the buttons. Come to come across out its created my mad cats... shoulda knew that from the beginning and not of ordered it, as of tomorrow its on its way back to new egg. If you appear closely the accusal mouse it self is as big as 3 match boxes and clarify the horrible unsmooth operation, its kinda like a automobile comes up subsequent to you with a pair of good wheels and then he slams on the gas and it stalls out.

I saw this mouse at PAX East 2011 and had to verify it out. It looks like it would be insanely uncomfortable, but it is a quite comfortable and a good feeling mouse in your hand.I haven't had time to thoroughly test the precision button but I played some FPS at the booth at PAX and what I've noticed so far is fantastic. It is wired. THIS IS Very good. The R.A.T. 9 is wireless but apparently has poor battery life. The thumb scroll wheel is an exciting notion and is a actually cool 1.One particular touch buttons to switch the modes of the mouse and/or your sensitivity are a requirement for gaming. Depending on the game, or when working in Photoshop, I am continuously altering my mouse sensitivity.I am not a enormous macro fan, but I am confident that getting buttons that macros can be programmed to is a wonderful issue for particular persons.General, this mouse is excellent. It has an economical cost (most gaming mice start out at about 70$) and is worth every single penny. No right Mac support. I have Pc at property, but my laptop is a Mac, and gaming on a trackpad sucks. The R.A.T. 5 only has an adjustable back piece compared to the 7 and 9 which have interchangeable parts. But it seems that if you have other physique components, and an allen that fits, then you can adjust out the five's components.Altering weight is kind of awkward, but as soon as you uncover your ideal weight for your mouse, you will in no way go back to it. I have employed the Logitech G9 for about 5 years and was absolutely in adore with it. This mouse is greater.four,000dpi is seriously all you require. I know about some mice that have like 10,000dpi and is that seriously essential? That's just an opinion even though. For gaming mice, I have tested the Razer Mamba, Lachesis, Spectre and Naga, the Logitech G9 and both WoW mice. Don't feel I'm some mouse freak, these are mice my pals have owned and I've utilised. It does not come with any interchangeable parts, but I prefer smooth surface mice anyways, if you want grips, get the R.A.T. 7.All in all, this is a solid mouse and I extremely advise it.

Lots of functions. Adjustable weight. Good braided cable. Fells acquired in your hand. the palm is kinda higher so if you are undesirable about resting your arm on the desk you may well want to be a wrist rest. If you dont have 1 you will have a habit of the front of the mouse popping up due to how higher the palm component is. The capabilities are restricted compared to the R.A.T. 7. I say fork more than the further 12 dollars if your going to buy this mouse. If I had it, I may possibly be in a position to make it really feel significantly less acquired. I bought this 1 consider it was the very same characteristics with less dpi, but I was incorrect. I dont will need actually high dpi because I maintain my sensitivity low anyways.Wished I would have gotten the 7 now but after shipping price and every little thing, I guess Ill tuff it out. MAKE Sure TO GET THE R.A.T. 7, If you genuinely want this mouse....... I cant anxiety this enough.

It looks amazing. The texture feels fairly good. Not actually certain how to clarify it.Very customizable(see other thoughts for specifics)Got it about ฤ off. My mouse button 5 only partially worked. It was the button straight above the finish of my thumb and I only noticed on Ventrilo due to the fact that was my push-to-talk button and when I watched the icon displaying that I was speaking it would blink randomly as if I have been pushing the button various times instead of holding it in and the people listening would tell me I was cutting in and out. I changed my push-to-talk button to the button straight behind it, Mouse button four, and by no means had any troubles. I'm about to send it back and hopefully get a totally operating 1 this time.A different con, a minor 1 but a con nonetheless, is that you'll in all probability require to move the palm rest just about every time you adjust the weight, otherwise the palm rest will probably get in your way. I had seen the evaluation of the R.A.T. 7 on Newegg's youtube channel but that was fairly high priced so I went with the R.A.T. five instead being aware of it wouldn't be as customizable but unsure of how customizable it would be. You can alter the DPI with the software, set diverse modes for unique DPI settings that you can switch to at a moments notice, the weight, and the positioning of the palm rest. For comparison's sake, on the R.A.T. 7 you can transform all these points I just talked about along with the positioning of the thumb rest, the texture of the palm rest, and the texture of the pinky rest(by replacing each).Overall, it's a really excellent mouse and I'm really content with it.

This is a incredibly sturdy mouse. I have been incredibly frustrated with locating a mouse that is comfortable in my hand and does not feel "cheep". I was a tiny skeptical simply because of some difficulties I had in the past with "Mad Catz" merchandise but this mouse has changed my thoughts. My wife now desires one as well! Can't get the side barrel wheel to perform as a "side to side" scroll wheel. Previous to this mouse I had a Logitech Revolution MX mouse and I can say that the only thing I seriously miss is the flywheel variety scroll wheel. I would like a pinky rest as nicely. Perhaps I'll get myself a R.A.T. 9 when accessible and let my wife have this one ;)

-Looks like the mouse I've fantasized about for years LOL.-Feels good-Appreciate the weight method, nice and solid distribution-Horizontal scroll wheel interesting, however unused lol -Although further adjustables not really necessary, would be cool to tinker with. Definitely wicked! At 1st I planned on acquiring the R.A.T. 7, but chose the less expensive model mainly because I don't typically use 5600 DPI, and the all round adjustability was just not for me. But this R.A.T. 5 is simply amazing.

looks fancy uncomfortable even with all the adjustments, does not have appropriate mac assistance, nor can you save the custom configuration to the mouse. MadCatz build quality is poor (especially when compared to Razer) If you want the ideal gaming mouse, just go with the Razer Mamba. The Mamba has assistance for both Pc/Mac and it enables you to save your custom config in the flash memory. It charges much more, but it is 110% worth it over the RATs. Good initial try MadCatz, but ill be returning it for a Razer Mamba.

Was amazing when it worked Bought this back in September of 2010. Initially wrote a excellent review but had to come back to warn other people that if your mouse suddenly does not function appropriately anymore don't expect any client service for this mouse! Have referred to as but am always on the telephone waiting for an hour +. Sent an e-mail a week ago as they recommend to do, still no response. The issue with my mouse is that the vertical went out. Horizontally it moves fine but vertically it either does not move at all or lags horribly. Uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and software program. Hooked it up to another method. Cleaned the lens off. Nothing helped since the mouse is defective.Disappointed, my cheap ฟ mouse from 4 years ago nonetheless functions like new but this pricey gaming mouse only lasted me 4 months. And i'm assuming i'll in no way see a replacement because this firm has no client service at all!

Solid create. It doesn't feel affordable at all. Very smooth motion in any DPI setting. The weight system is quite neat; provides the mouse just the appropriate feel suited to me making use of 3 of the five weights integrated. Adjustable palm rest is a nice adjust. Slightly bigger than other mice I've applied in the past, which is excellent for me due to the fact I have bigger hands. Programming is fairly simple and easy to study, even if you've by no means programmed a mouse or even a keyboard ahead of. four separate DPI settings are great and simply change on the fly. The "horizontal scroll" wheel isn't really a horizontal scroll wheel. It operates as a cycle-in a position button rather than a scroll function. You can assign a function for each clockwise or counter-clockwise turning. The mode switch button would be far better if you could cycle up or down rather than possessing to cycle by way of one way to get to the a single you need. Not a large deal although. I didn't acquire this mouse for gaming. I really bought it for editing audio in Adobe Audition, which I commit 8 hours a day, five days a week carrying out. I wanted to have a mouse with plenty of customizable characteristics/buttons to make my operate a small less "Crtl+button" or "Shift+button" heavy. The sniper button operates fantastic for slowing my motion down to highlight sound waves whilst becoming able to hold the DPI setting good and higher for quick movement. I didn't take off any eggs for the cons since overall, they don't impact the function for me considerably, if at all; they're more like following thoughts.

The mouse is incredibly precise and solid create good quality. I like the weights and the palm extension adjuster. only downfall I located was that I can\'t use this mouse with my gamer Func mouse pad. The mouse sensor becomes entirely confused and the cursor jumps sporadically, kinda a bummer but not a deal breaker.

Purchased this following I saw the amazing rendered video of the mouse coming apart and coming back together Transformers-style. It genuinely looks unique and cool. The software drivers and macros are quite decent. The accuracy/sensitivity of the mouse is actually high, in all probability more than you need to have. I had to set it down to 1,000-1,200 DPI to be far more comfy with it. However in the true globe, you'd only customize this after and leave it there. The aluminum frame and steel components make the mouse too heavy if you're utilized to weight-much less mice like I am. I use a Razer Diamondback at home and at function. Getting a unique mouse at residence (the RAT) makes it really hard to adjust each and every time I come residence... In spite of all the customizations, it nevertheless does not match my big hands comfortably. Acquire this if you want a desk-showpiece. It makes a fantastic-searching paperweight.

1). The Styletwo). 4000 Dpi laserthree). The adjustable back4). The "sniper" button- got numerous headshots in Poor Corporation two because of this good button5). Really strong construction - one of the ideal I have handledsix). Very Comfortable 7). Braided Cord8). The proper and left clicks are easy to click additional along the lines of Razer mice which is what I wanted.9). Good for FPS games None I can think of except you cannot extend the adjustable back and rest your palm on it because it will make the whole mouse lean back - if your a pure palm gripper then that could be a problem I am a earlier owner of a Razer Lachesis in which I loved quite substantially (did hurt my hands the first week of utilizing it). When that one decided to go bonkers on me I decided that I needed a different gaming mouse. I scoured everywhere that sold them in retail retailers and on-line. I tested just about every singe mouse I could get my hands on. I tried the Razer Deathadder - didn't like it, the Logitech MX 518 - eww and same went with the Logitech G500 - didn't like the clicks and the complete really feel of both the mice, liked the Microsoft Sidewinder x5 and x8 but required one thing a lot more than 2000 dpi and wasn't too keen on a pure wireless gaming mouse, contemplated on one more Razer Lachesis but ahhh..., and I practically purchased the Razer Imperator but due to the Z axis dilemma that was a no go.I have been very delighted with this mouse. Sufing the web, fragging people and conquering worlds, this mouse is one of the very best! (and at the cost to boot!)

A properly constructed, responsive, and feature-filled mouse. Insanely high adjustable dpi. Customizable for weight and palm rest which for a person like me with huge hands is a big plus. Over all, as soon as customized, this mouse is really comfortable and enjoyable Weight case is chintzy. When in the forward position the palm rest puts my thumb in an awkward position for using the forward and back buttons as well as sniper mode and thumb wheel. This doesn't truly bother me as my hands are really large but for my wife and daughter this is a difficulty With the exception of an incorporated allen wrench and extra palm and pinky rests this is primarily identical to the R.A.T. 7.

Amazing mouse. It delivers various alternatives or 'profiles' that can be changed on the fly with the click of a button. You can set each and every profile to a distinct DPI setting to far better suit what ever your wants are at the provided time. It also provides a improved accuracy button that is handy for certain games, you just press the button and it slows the speed of the mouse for fine aiming. The removable weights and the adjustable hand plate turns this into a mouse for any size hand and offers tunable selections to fit everyone's desires The cord could stand to be a bit longer... but its not near sufficient to take an Egg away for. After hunting at the paperwork including in with the mouse, if I had it to do more than again I would just go with the R.A.T. 9. It provides 1 or 2 a lot more alternatives and it is wireless, as an alternative of wired.

Reasonably priced gaming/production mouse with respectable functionality even when application kept crashing. You HAVE to install .NET 3.five nonetheless I was capable to use the thumb buttons working with a freeware app known as X-Mouse Button Handle. There are four possibilities for sensitivity, I use the second lowest 1. The application enables you to adjust each X & Y simultaneously or separately as effectively as how sensitive you want the sniping button to be.I like the capability to adjust the physical size of the mouse.Scroll-wheel button (usually auto-scroll) is uncomplicated to push compared to the majority of other mice I've utilized. I run a fan close by to hold my hands from sweating and if the fan is within about a foot the mouse begins acting drunk, took about two weeks to figure this out since the computer software did absolutely nothing but crash.Application crashed all the time for 1 month. I tried the CD version, an on the web version, and then two weeks later a newer build from their web-site. I emailed the tech internet site and got a reasonably speedy response suggesting that I install .NET three.five which did really operate. The installer should have incorporated .NET three.5 nonetheless and installed it for me.Application does not have any preset selections for the second scroll-wheel which essentially suggests (for me) it's essentially useless unless it can pick up programed keys from the keyboard which with my Logitech G110 it can.Back plate sticks in to the uncommon right portion of my palm which I do NOT like nonetheless it's reasonably mitigated by wrist pad.Incredibly loud clicking is annoying.Second scroll-wheel not quite properly placed.Wire can get tangled a I mostly wanted a laser mouse with thumb buttons. I gave this mouse a possibility and commonly I like it. It's not ideal and a revised version that addresses the troubles I encountered would make me a repeat client. The reasonably speedy response of a guy apparently on trip with a operating remedy helped even though it must have worked out of the box.The second scroll-wheel is a lot more of a gimmick without decent software support and is as well far in to the mouse to be comfortable to use casually; does not truly scroll tabs/windows with horizontal scrollbars by default or have preset alternatives like my prior Logitech mouse.Initially I was a little thrown off by some of the choices though I do like the mouse and will preserve working with it for my primary machine. It does serve me properly for both gaming and production. My YouTube channel is jabcreations if you want to check out a couple videos I posted there about this mouse and my Logitech G110 keyboard.

This mouse is Wonderful. The dpi adjustor button beneath the scroll wheel works like a charm and comes very significantly in handy in the course of extended gaming sessions. I play games for about 4 hours at a time, and the customizability offers wonderful comfort. Sniper button (little red 1 on the side rest) doesn't stick and essentially works. The thumb scroll does't work for me at all. I don't even know what it's utilised for. Extremely stiff. Doesn't matter to me because I have no use for one anyways. Definitely suggest this mouse to everyone who like the capability to tune it to the way you want it.

Could not ask for far more. -None that I have noticed so far. Immediately after receiving the mouse then setting anything up, my roommate walked in. So, I asked, "What do you feel of my new mouse?" He took one particular look at it, the tank brimming with lights and shinny metal, and began grinning in approval. Whilst waiting for an answer, all he could say is, and not without a smile on his face, "That is not a mouse." I tell him, "No, it's superior. It's a RAT."

Tracking seems to be spot on and the buttons are all simple to reach. Its a little smaller than I believed it would be.The mode switching button is a little challenging to reach.Thumb wheel not set up for horizontal scrolling by default. It seems to perform fine in FPS games for me. If it is obtaining some of the issues described in other evaluations, try employing a different mousepad.

Fantastic hand really feel as soon as you tweak all the settings. It did take awhile for me to locate the proper grip size. Extremely responsive and accurate. Immediately after about 4 months, one particular day the vertical tracking decided to quit functioning. It just jumped about at times. Horizontal was fine. I tried cleaning it out, but that didn't support. In addition to this, the "horizontal scroll wheel" isn't genuinely a scroll wheel. I had to create a macro function that pressed the left or appropriate arrow important twice to get it to do what I wanted. That is stupid.MadCatz tech assistance (Saitek is the parent business, very good luck navigating the site) is terrible. The support email address doesn't exist (returned by mail delivery), and the phone support hours are when regular men and women are at perform, and can't deal with their property gaming mouse. Only obtain this if you don't thoughts obtaining a new one every couple of months, and don't want to ever talk to tech support.
