Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Kind of pricey but,its worth it.
Pros:Attractive,good design,and I love the glow Comment:
I love this keyboard. It is the best keyboard I have used in the past ten years. The keys are pretty quiet and there aren't any useless keys. The layout is good as well. The board seems really durable and finaly....I truly like the glow from the eclipse2.I find it useful when I'm using my rig with the lights out. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Can't think of any.....
Pros:Great backlighting which has a brightness control.Unit can go brighter then a G15.Multimedia controls are easy to use.The cord is nice and long which is great if you have a large desk and your tower is far from your keyboard tray. Comment:
I bought this because I wanted a simple backlit keyboard for gaming for a decent price. I had a G15 but found it's lighting was too dim and I knew I'd never use half of what it was capable of. A few of my friends ended up getting one of these Eclipse II's and I was sold right away. This keyboard draws a lot of comments from others. Great product all in all! Can't beat it IMO. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:None in the 1 year I've owned it
Pros:The choice of 3 different backlight coloursSolidVery good quality Comment:
I purchased this keyboard specifically for it's lack of shortcut buttons such as: e-mail, multimedia and other such useless buttons. Also, I found the backlighting is very handy for when I'm plunking away at night. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Poorly designed illuminationMedia keys are small and hard to useNot wireless
Pros:Excellent key action for fast typingStandard key layout means zero learning curve Comment:
I bought this keyboard to replace the incredibly poorly-designed Logitech MX3200 which I'd just bought a few weeks earlier. The MX3200 is the worst keyboard I've ever used.I'm very happy with the Saitek Eclipse 2 keyboard design and key action. The keys feel precise when pressed, requiring a consistently low amount of force to activate each key. The labels are nice and big, too, good for those who need to glance at them from time to time. The key action feels precise and is quieter than other keyboards I've used, though not quite as quiet as a notebook keyboard. The keyboard has two sets of rear legs offering the user a choice between three levels of tilt. It also features a comfortable palm rest which is detachable. The keyboard illumination is an interesting gimmick which might be marginally useful for someone typing in complete darkness with a dim monitor, but I found that the large and bright white labels on the keys are just as readable in dim light with or without the illumination, which leaks out between the keys rather than actually illuminating the keys themselves. I find it distracting more than anything else, so I turn it off.On a keyboard with such a great key action for the standard keys, it's disappointing that the media keys (play, volume, mute, etc.) are relatively difficult to press and have a cheap feeling action, clicking loudly when pressed. The appearance of the keyboard is average. I like the glossy black finish sounding the keys, and I wish that the frame of the keyboard were finished similarly (or at least in matte black) rather than silver. The keyboard is not wireless, and probably could not be made wireless due to the high current demand of the illumination feature. I'd gladly trade one for the other if I had the option.Despite its faults, the Saitek Eclipse 2 succeeds where many other keyboards currently on the market fail -- it works great for typing. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Very Few, Only Complaint is it's rather large.
Pros:Bright LED's that don't burn out.Silent TypingCustom Brightness Controls Comment:
Great product, although I didn't purchase my eclipse II From NCIX I figured I'd review it here. Great keyboard, I'm loving it, It's silent for night time playing and the LED's don't burn out, or at least not on my board. It's great for those people that have an under-desk keyboard that sometimes just can't find that key. Saitek makes great products and i would recommend them to anyone. No going wrong with this keyboard. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:No usb plugins
Pros:Compact, great backlight and very comfortable to use. Comment:
I needed a keyboard for my wife's new computer. She liked the Microsoft Reclusa I have, but it wouldn't fit in the keyboard tray. After some research I came across this keyboard. So far it's been great. It works well and the choice of 3 backlight colours is kinda fun. My only regret is that it has no usb ports. That would have been nice, but since it plugs in to an Antec 900 case its not a major issue. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Price
Pros:BacklightQuietConfortable Comment:
This is an overall good keyboard, very confortable and quiet. But on the other hand, when we look at other products like Logitech G15, which offers a LCD screen for about the same price, this one may look a little over-priced. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:none so far
Pros:Attractive, backlit keys, keys excellent for typing Comment:
This keyboard replaces my Logitech G11, although the G11 is a pretty good keyboard the extra couple of inches in length caused me some problems, even though I have a very large keyboard tray. I have given my G11 to the wife who really likes it and doesn't have the problem with the size of the G11.The Eclipse II was recognized by XP immediately and istalled without a hitch. There is no software bundled with this keyboard. The keys are easy and smooth to type with. The keys also seem to be a bit larger than the G11 and I find it much easier to type with the Eclipse than the G11.The lettering on the Eclipse is larger than that on the G11 which suits my purposes better. All in all I prefer the Eclipse II over the G11, but it is really a matter of what works better for me. The G11 is a good keyboard but it is a little longer and the lettering isn't as large and I think the G11 keys are a little smaller. The wife really likes the G11 but, for her, it replaces a $15 Logitech keyboard, that I also used for a while and really grew to hate. The $15 Logitech is now in the closet for use as a spare. Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:does not have extra keys like the g15 if that was something you used a lot
Pros:built very wellbacklight colours Comment:
This keyboard replaced my old version of the g15 the 2007 version not the orange one and I have to say that I like the size of the keyboard since I can finally have a keyboard on my computer desk and not on a tray under the desk |

Cons:none
Pros:sturdy designbacklit keys Comment:
This my main gaming keyboard. This keyboard has wonderful keys that are neither too springy nor too soft, great for typing, and great for games too. It's a pretty sturdy piece of kit too, and requires no extra drivers. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Back light somewhat uneven
Pros:-Aesthetics-Illumination is decent-High quality, sturdy keyboard-Awesome for gaming-Amazing price Comment:
I have been using normal $15-20 keyboards all my life, and when NCIX was selling those in the last sale, I had to make the move to a decent keyboard. The Saitek II was perfect. I am now convinced why people shell lots of money on such "toys." This thing is brilliant. It looks amazing on my desk and the illumination is very helpful, as I work in the dark sometimes. The quality is pretty good and it's very comfortable for my wrists. Keys are perfect - no loud sounds, very good. Back light is somewhat uneven across all keys, but that's not a big issue. Overall, I highly recommend this product, even though it has been discontinued here. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:few programmable/shortcut keys
Pros:looks and feels amazing Comment:
Definately my favorite keyboard ever. The lights and the dimmer switch are obviously really nice, especially in low light conditions, and I rather like the extendable wrist-rest. Now I can barely stand using other people's keybords. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:My Ctrl and Shift keys sometimes have to be pressed with conviction as if it's slightly off (not fully depressed or pressed off-center) it won't register. Only happens sometimes, though.Vista doesn't seem to want to work with the media keys (volume works, though) but this might just be something I have to do in Vista to get it to work properly (running Winamp)
Pros:Quiet key operationBacklight isn't overly brightEasy to turn off or change the backlighting colour and intensityComfortable to type onLooks great Comment:
Great keyboard, smooth key operation and relatively quiet too. Variable and alternate backlighting options are a nice addition, too. Good size, not too small or too big, adjustable angle and wrist rest. Very happy with this product, although the ctrl and shift keys give me a bit of trouble occasionally (have to be sure they are fully depressed and not off-center) |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Back light could be more even

This is a great keyboard. it is quite the improvement over my generic wireless keyboard. The keys I thought where very quiet and firm.No real problems other then the black light could be more even and maybe a little brighter. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:nothing IMO
Pros:The backlightComfortSize Comment:
This keyboard fitted my need perfectly : a good keyboard to game and quite small. Indeed, I was limited by the size of my desk, so the G15 was not a good solution. I chose this one and I don't regret it at all. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Cable length shorter than desired.
Pros:Very compact, illuminated somewhat, saves space on my desk for FPS game movement. Comment:
Overall I am very satisfied with this keyboard, key presses are fluent, the illuminated keys help in low light situations(lot of late nights). Leaves enough room for my mouse pad on my small desk. No macros but there are software utilities for that. Overall very good, and for the price, size, and compatibility of other peripherals on my desk, better than a G11 or G15. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:none, i am not picky enough to complain about the lighting
Pros:small, nice wrist rest, 3 lights, pleasure to type on, cool factor Comment:
paid 82.99 at my university book store because i had a giftcard that brought it down really cheap and for what i paid this is a great keyboard. the lights are more for a cool factor than practicality but i dont really sit in a room with 0 lights on so it is no big deal. if you are buying this because you live in your mom's basement and have no ambient lighting and really want to see your keys perfectly in pitch black darkness then maybe this board isn't for you lol. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:My only gripe is that the media keys are quite small...but it is very minor but at least it has the media keys which I use quite regularly.
Pros:Great firm feel on the keysback-lighting works decentLooks great Comment:
I have been quite happy with this keyboard. There are 3 colour choices, media keys are handy, and I love the feel of the keys (nice and firm, but not too firm...). The back lighting is also nice (I have a glass desk so it creates a nice effect). I highly recommend for a "gaming keyboard" or just a very nice regular use keyboard. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:None
Pros:Compact, nice action on keys, backlighting. Comment:
I got this to replace an old Compaq supplied keyboard. This is a great replacement! I chose it over the Logitech G15 because of the smaller size. It feels precise and I like the backlighting for low light conditions. |

Saitek Eclipse II Black & Silver Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Cons:Price a bit high
Pros:Very strong buildConfort +++Nice backlight 3 color option Comment:
This keyboard is probably the best keyboard I have used. The 3 height of the back of the keyboard and the extensible wrist rest is absolutely perfect to match any person tastes. The backlight is a "1337 option" maybe but the result is very nice. The only problem is the price, but I think this keyboard is very reliable and will last for a while. |
A reasonably priced keyboard for those who expect the usual responsiveness of a keyboard, plus the extra ambient lighting to make it look a little more special. Gamers who are looking for macro buttons should take a look at the G11 or G15.
