I picked this up on sale a long time ago. It's fairly quiet - certainly quieter than my old LG burner. I only burn a few discs per month, but it hasn't spit out any duds so far.It's not quite as quiet as my old Pioneer burner - but it's impossible to beat those, and you can't even buy them anymore.For the price, this is an excellent buy.

Got a different model same brand, the firmware wasnt correct so i got a brand new DVD Burner after the return process(which was faster than i thought) and this product works great. None stop burning since installed and works GREAT! Great Value and Price!

I bought two of these DVD burners and both are quick to recognize an inserted DVD, and burn a 16x DVD at 18x speed with no problems. I wanted a good burner so it not having an audio port wasnt an issue with me.

Works well. Running XP Pro on an older 2Ghz machine and have had no issues reading or burning discs. Booted Puppy Linux on a live CD and had no issues there either.

Good drive, was recognized and pc booted no problem and it worked. If it lasts I will give it another star and if not I will take one awayor if it had a few more features or oem software I prob would have gave it another star.For the hardcore dvdrw people the info on my drive is manf Nov 2009, H/W:A, VER.A, F/W:SB02, and the chipset is a Mediatek MT1868B

Really no problems with the install or use so far. The only real negative thing to me is the picture and description shows a brand name quit clearly however the actual product I could not find the name written on it anywhere. I am assuming that this is a oem part made for one of the big box companies and for warranty reasons it does not say the company name best guess really.

I bought this to add a DVD drive to an older computer. I was impressed with how quickly I received it,7-10 days canada. The install was easy since this machine is already set to accept new devices easily, almost a plug n' play set up. It wasn't instantly recognized but the install disc worked flawlessly and I was up and running within the hour.

I bought a couple during a sale many to use as back up dvd drives. I've had 1 or 2 drives (BENQ) fail on me before, so I figured that it would be safe to have a couple lying around just in case that ever happened again.

Burned one CD perfectly, but that's it. Then all I get is; Reset Occurred and Could Not Perform End Track.

I used it to upgrade an old PC. It arrived on time and it worked right out of the box. There was no labeling of where the jumpers go but the instruction sheet clearly indicated the settings. If you lose the instruction sheet, you will have a hard time figuring out whether it was set up as cable select, master, or slave. I check the old burner for the settings of the next burner. Otherwise, this was a good inexpensive IDE burner.

brought it at 18.99 while on sale, price so good, burn about 30 dvds, play it on my pioneer and no-name dvd player, no problem. runs quiet. good buy.
