I bought this about a year ago, and it's served me well. Pros *Contrary to other reviewer, mine is ReadyBoost compliant. Maybe it depends on how recently manufactured the drive is or the version of Vista? *Nice design *Reliable (no data loss problems) *Fairly durable (okay if kept on a key chain and occasionally left in a hot or freezing car for a while) *You can't lose the cap no matter how hard you try *Fast enough to run portableApps or U3 stuff on it *Space is nice Cons *Average speed, not excellent Final thoughts Maybe I would buy a Corsair drive depending upon price rather than this if I were to make this decision again a year ago. I'll be running Ubuntu on this drive from now on since I've obtained a new flash drive for files. This drive is the perfect size for that.

I have loved these micro drives by sandisk. though i just bought a 8Gb from OfficeDepot for 39.00 this is still a good buy.

The only plus is U3 technology, hovever I don't use it much. Big drop in speed. My old 2GB Microcruzer goes with 10GB/sec transfer rate, the new 8GB cruzer gives me only 5GB/sec. Expected something faster. $79.99 is to much. I tested Transcend 16GB JetFlash V10. It comes to 10GB/sec. For $69.97 it is much higher value per speed and capacity.

Just bought this and it works grea! The U3 software works fine and has plenty of advantages as written about above. I would highly recommend this thumb drive to anyone with large file needs, i.e. ACAD, etc, or if you are trying to consolidate your many smaller capacity thumb drives. Great device!

I replaced my 4GB Cruzer Micro with this one, and am very pleased. I did notice that the 8GB model actually feels lighter and possibly less durable than the 4GB, though I have had no performance problems at all. I've never liked U3, so I uninstalled it immediately to gain the extra usable space. I've read that some customers have had difficulty removing the U3 software, but a quick Google search of ''Remove U3'' should turn up a standalone uninstaller that works fast and completely removes the software. And for anyone thinking of buying this to use with Vista, please note that this drive is NOT Ready-Boost compliant.

I have found that this product is a grate value to me. I am in the IT services and I can load helpful tools on this like Sypbot and Addware utilities so that when I am trying to diagnose a problem with an in user and they don't have utilities to diagnose there problem I can just insert this USB drive into there PC and my utilities are there already installed in a U3 menu that pops up and I can run them from there and when I am done, i can eject it and my applications stay with me. I can also remove or reinstall the U3 software which cannot be done by most other manufactures if U3 products. This way I can have the reliability of Sandisk even if I just want to use this as a storage device alone. Great product. Thumbs up on it's design, price and performance.

This is a great little drive. The only thing I found to be utterly annoying is that it is partitioned. You CANNOT remove it either. It embeds .exe's in your data to ensure its little programs existence. It seems as if it canot be removed. If you need a drive and like to have your hand held, then this one is it for you.
