Comment:
Good design in a position to maintain CPU and memory cool. Fits in my low profile case no restrictions. I would recomend this products to other program builders. Was putting it in my puter I am building, AMD X4 with a giga board, was going to run Patriot efficiency memory, Heat sinks. Not enough space even when I had my memory in slot 3 and 4, so had to use a diverse fan. Functions good keeps my CPU cool, after obtaining out it doesn't in my puter I am making I decided to place it in my HS, performs excellent keeps CPU and memory cool considering that I am runing cheaper memory, for men and women searching to run a board with simple memory works great if not then pass on this things

This design clears my heat spreaders on my memory with no complications. The offset toward the back of the motherboard offers that clearance. Uncomplicated to install. I put this on a new construct but you could put this on an existing board with out getting to eliminate the board. The clips are good and secure feeling. It is quiet also. Keeps my overclocked 955BE at 52c under complete load gaming for hours. none

Nice cooler and delivers incredibly superior circulation. It keeps my i5-760 about 36c. A tiny tricky to install the last push pin. I had to use a screw driver to push down and twist the final pin into spot. It's not incredibly hard to do but is one thing to be conscious of. It would in all probability be a lot less complicated to install of you do it prior to installing the motherboard into the case.

-extremely straightforward installation-comparatively small footprint in the case-decent cooling @ idle-good cooling @ load -could cool greater...but it's a า heatsink so you can't expect miracles.

Looks cool. Made to cool memory at the same time as the CPU. Fan was DOA. RMA'd via Newegg. Got the Corsair H50 with terrific outcomes. The bushings are the identical as the stock cooler for most newer Intel CPUs, but they are allowed to slide to fit other sockets, creating them a Discomfort to install. Had high hopes for the cooler, but when I started my program it was idling at 58-63C due to the fact the fan was barely spinning. My stock cooler was plugged in the similar header and worked fine, so had to be the fan. RMA'd.

OK, I just got this nowadays and popped it in a new construct making use of some AS-five and discarding the included thermal paste. I'm positive it's still settling but I haven't observed the temps go about 30c yet on my AMD 1055t 鲽w).The install was straightforward. The size is excellent (not super huge). It works genuinely well so far. It's a new construct so haven't figured out if it's the fan on this factor or my GPU or case but some thing is a small bit on the loud side. This is my second Scythe acquire. I purchased a Katana3 and it cooled seriously properly but didn't fit in my case. This factor cools really well and fits in my case.. I couldn't ask for more.

Ease of installation, a lot of fan energy and cooling capability None however Instralled on my ASUS Crosshair Formula IV with the AMD 1090t. Installation was really basically the easiest I've ever performed and this fan DOES NOT block any RAM slots whatsoever. If you have tyhis combo it is a winning one!

-Stupidly easily installation on AM3 socket mobos.-Best size that won't clog up your case or cover any DIMM slots. None whatsoever. Took a whopping four minutes to install on an AM3 motherboard.

Tested this on two different CPU's. First was an AMD Athlon II X2 240 OC'ed to three.36GHz. The stock AMD heat-sink/fan kept the CPU at 75° (F) at idle and peaked at 113° (F) at full load. With the Scythe SCSMZ-2000 setup, the CPU had an idle temp of 72° (F) and at full load only peaked at 91° (F)! That's a 22° distinction at peak!! I was entirely blown away, but I'd bet it wouldn't do so properly against the bigger AMD heat-sink/fan setup for the AMD Phenom II CPU.So, I installed my new AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE CPU into my motherboard with the stock AMD heat-sink/fan that comes with it. If you haven't observed the setup that comes with that CPU, believe me, it's massive.I did some initial testing to make confident the CPU was OK and not DOA, and then began the testing. I overclocked the CPU 10% Ɠ.7GHz). The stock heat-sink/fan held the CPU at 81° (F) at idle and peaked at 142° (F) at full load. The Scythe SCSMZ-2000 held the CPU at 80° (F) at idle, and only 126° at full load. A 16° difference! None so far, I'm completely happy! I had read really good reviews about this heat-sink/fan setup on a couple of diverse sites, but I'm often a little held back until I try something myself. Right after seeing the stock AMD heat-sink/fan that comes with the Phenom II, I never ever would have guessed I'd see a 16° (F) distinction in between it and the Scythe SCSMZ-2000. At that point, I was totally sold on this setup. It's not a water cooling system, but for what you pay for it, I believe it's one of the ideal values going in CPU cooling setups.

Excellent cooling, shape and style permits it to fit beautifully inmy microATX case, even with an asus radeon 5830 topcu crammed in there. Literally dropped 20 degrees (c) off my stock fan. (AMD Phenom 955BE, i looked about, they run hot, particularly becoming the 125w not the 95w) None If your searching for superior cooling in a smaller space, this plus a good case fan is magic.

Much far better than the stock AM3 coolerFits the factory clip on my Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 motherboard No 92mm 4-pin PWM LED fans... anyplace. My temps went from (idle/load) 45አ+ to 38ኑ with no other adjustments to the program's airflow. The Arctic Silver 5 is nonetheless settling in. Perhaps we'll get below 50?

*wide socket range*good PWM fan, quiet*Cools my i5 760 from 28c to 35c, a couple of degrees over ambiet temp*ŭ additional than other great air coolers*low profile*aggro use of heat pipes and heatsink *without fan control, it is loud about 2600 rpm. 1600-1700 is ideal rpm. *intel's plastic retention technique. included amd parts are metal and feel far better. Actually a excellent cooler for htpc use. fits in mATX with room to spare. I utilised arctic silver rather of included scythe thermal goop... temps a few degrees over ambient room temp... Its worth the additional 5 bucks to get a Scythe cpu cooler.

Looks excellent, works well sufficient, mostly easy installation, comes with far better good quality silver based paste. None truly, so far. It didn't cool as nicely as I thought it may possibly compared to the stock Intel (E8400). Fit easily on my Gigabyte P35-DS3L, orienting it so the cooler sits over the north bridge heatsink. Worth the obtain, just kind of hoped it would do greater. Idles at 39c럾f, according to CoreTemp. In no way noticed it get over 120f or so even under heavy load, but I have excellent cooling in my case.

Scythe SCSMZ-2000 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: With the cpu fan at high speed, it is loud.Top Heat sink was bent towards the lower heat sink. LGA 775 retaining brackets could be better built or higher quality. Installation should be done while mobo is outside of the case.

Pros: Better cooling than stock intel. Easy installation, almost fool proof.Compatible with most cpu, even the newer ones.
Comment:
Received my heat sink with the top bending, almost touching the bottom heat sink. I had to pull the two heat sink apart with my hand. Retaining brackets for lga 775 was also bent. On the positive side, cooling was exceptional for its price, and installation seems to be very easy as long as the mobo is outside of the case.

Scythe SCSMZ-2000 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons:Had to bend the AM2 clips outward to make it fit. Not a lot, but enough that I consider it a weakness. Nothing else of note so far to complain about.

Pros:Works well, looks good, can be PM'd down to about 30 bucks, making it a hell of a bargain. The fan that comes with it is not too loud, and moves a lot of air. Small package big performance.
Comment:
Excellent cooler. My OC'd 710x3 z 3.5ghz would be running really hot on the stock cooler, at 35/60c idle/load. With the Samurai Zz, i am seeing 24/47c idle/load temps z 3.5ghz.It was easy to install, aside from having to bend the clips outward a little bit. For being such a sizable HSF, it is actually very compact, fitting in my mid-tower case very easily (CM330 Elite), though not lining up perfectly with the CPU duct, as the fan is off centre compared to the CPU.I would recommend this cooler to anyone OCing AM2+/AM3 CPUs in a heartbeat.

Cons:Maybe not for extreme overclocking

Comment:
I was actually looking at the Scythe Kabuto but it was out of my budget and I was able to pm this to $30, there may be other better cooler at this price range but I am looking for a heatsink blowing from top to bottom for this helps cool the chipset and molex which are near the cpu.I have a Scythe Katana 2 on a overclocked Phenom 4 cores but it was barely doing the job, after switching to this one it cool it down a few more degrees. I was surprised since it is smaller than the Katana 2.Switched CPU to a Athlon X4 620, running it at 3.25Ghz, full load is 52c..nothing to compare since never use the stock but I think it is pretty good.
