Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:no screws
Pros:SilentMoves more air than most 40mm fans2 to 3 wire fan connector Comment:
Because there were no screws included i had to use the ones from the fan on my raid card that i was replacing, which were too short since the original fan was thinner. I had to use a drill to make the holes for the screw head slightly deeper but aside from that the fan works great and is totally silent. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:None
Pros:- Cheap- Quiet - Moves a decent amount of air Comment:
Considering how fast the fan spins, its very quiet. I plan to use this to cool the northbridge on my DFI Bloodiron P35. Not much else to say about this fan, but that considering the price, its a good deal. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-23-08 10:10 AM |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:No mounting screws included, if that's an issue, otherwise none.
Pros:Thin, but still moves a decent amount of air to cool my northbridge. Comment:
A great little fan! Dropped my NB temps on my DFI DK P35 T2RS by 7 degrees on average load (my Ninja-cooled e8400 also dropped a degree), and still narrow enough to fit under my Thermalright HR-03GT! Buy this one! :) This review was modfied by poster @ 04-20-08 11:53 PM |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:None if you already know that it won't move a lot of air
Pros:Cost near nothing, SILENT, does what it supposed to do Comment:
Really good for northbrige on a motherboard or a fanless mini-itx motherboard (inside a case a little fan like the mini kaze is the best solution for a little airflow) |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:low air flow, due to being small and quiet
Pros:Small and quietGood Price Comment:
Used on older video card who's fan is screaming. Sure it is low flow, but the video card is old for the spare compy. You can also use for north bridge or any other replacement 40mm fan that doesn’t require super air flow |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:- little air flow
Pros:- relatively quiet Comment:
I bought it for my nortbridge mobo chipset and it work great. But if your overclock, this thing doesn't get enought airflow. Good product in general. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:uses a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter harness, so you end up with a little longer wire than you would like in most cases.
Pros:Handy little quiet fan Comment:
Pretty much silent, yet still moves a meaningful amount of air. Great for additional cooling of passive NB heatsinks and whatnot. I used a couple small zip-ties to attach it. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:No screws.
Pros:Low Noise.Powerful little fan running at 3500RPM.Scythe Quality. Its only 1cm thick! Fantastic for mounting on Northbridge heatsinks with massive CPU coolers *cough* Ninja *cough* Comment:
I chose this over the Ultra because they pretty much have the same features except for the fact that the Ultra version is twice as think (how is that a good thing?!) and I got this on sale for 3 bucks. Easy to mount on my passive heatsink but it did get a little hard due to my huge Ninja heatsink getting in the way. (The Ninja covers half of the GA-P35-DS3L, very frustrating when it comes to installing it but the Mini Kaze was just the right height and still had enough space left over to provide adequate airflow. I bought two, and I'm saving my second one for another purpose. By the way, due to the fan having no screws, I thought for about 30 minutes about how to mount the thing. Eventually, I just used a bit of silicone based epoxy and glued the fan to the NB heatsink itself. Just a little tip for you guys wondering how to mount this. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:- does not fit inside the external drive enclosure I purchased
Pros:-cheap 40mm fan-4 pin connector Comment:
Originally purchased to replace the 40mm fan inside a KINGWIN drive enclosure. Too bad the 4 pin connector wasnt compatible with the pins on the PC board for the external drive enclosure.Im sure Ill find another use for this 40mm fan This review was modfied by poster @ 01-09-08 04:50 PM |

Pros:cheap and quiet Comment:
This thing is quiet and works well on my 650i mobo. The northbridge on my mobo is just a passive heatsink, so I bought this to help cool it down. |

I bought a couple of these, I may actually use one on my stock NB heatsink INSTEAD of the Noctual passive one if I cant add the fan to it easily enough... |

I purchased this to cool my motherboard chipset, and it does a good job. It is quiet enough that I can't hear it over my (also quiet) power supply fan. |

Cons:As everyone else mentioned, it doesn't come with screws.
Pros:Relatively cheap.Very quiet.Decent cooling capability. Comment:
Bought it to cool down the northbridge on my Gigabyte DS3. The lack of screws did not matter to me since I was always planning on hot glueing the fan to the NB heatsink.Overall, very satisfied. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:could come with some screws
Pros:cheap and quiet Comment:
Got it to replace an aopen motherboard fan that wore out. It runs most of the time, so was really annoying. This replaced it without any problems and now you can't even hear it above ambient noise. I had tried to run the board without a fan, but the northbridge chip got really hot. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:None!
Pros:Quiet, good airflow! Comment:
Scythe.. the king of fan making! This is half the price of the 40mm Antec I was using before. Even modded down to 7v, the Antec was way too loud. Scythe runs quiet at standard 12v! Highly reccomended. Good for cooling down southbridges and such. |

Cons:No screws provided
Pros:Small and thinQuiet Comment:
Great little product for very good price. Only complaint is that is took up the 3pin system fan connector on my motherboard (but then again I shouldn't have expected it to use a Molex connector). Using it to cool the northbridge on my DS3 |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:low cfm rating
Pros:Quiet, inexpensive Comment:
I bought this little fan to cool the northbridge of my P5k because I'm water cooling and don't have much air flow around the northbridge heatsink. The addition of this fan dropped the temperature 3 degrees down to about 38-40 which is more to my liking than the mid 40's.This fan is barely audible and mounted in my system it cannot be heard over the sound of the pump which is very quiet itself.Overall this is a great little fan for cooling off those passive northbridge heatsinks. |

Scythe SY124010L 40mm Chipset Fan
Cons:Doesn't come with mounting screws
Pros:Quiet, 2-pin connector with a 3-pin adapter Comment:
This is an awesome little fan and it will be cooling my northbridge, but I wish it came with mounting screws - I'm going to have to look through my PC parts bin and find some. Some people might be glad that it comes with a 2-pin connector for use with old video cards and other things and it comes with a 3-pin motherboard adapter. |

Got this for the NB on my DFI DK P35 board, works well, keeps the load temperature below 50, which was worrying me without the fan before.
