The drive is slimmer than earlier Seagate drives of the identical 250GB capacity. Really should assist with airflow.five eggs to NewEgg. Wonderful shipping and service by NewEgg. Had it the next day. Cost-free shipping. See other thoughts. I had to purchase this drive as a replacement for yet one more failed Seagate in my RAID array. In truth the drive it's replacing is a "certified repaired" drive that was sent me when the original drive failed much less than 3 months ago. So now, I have to pay cash however once again to send Seagate back their "certified repaired" drive, so they can send me back another "certified repaired" drive. Perhaps that one will last longer than three months. This is the 3rd Seagate drive that has failed on me in less than a year. Really disappointed. |

Drive runs fast and rather. Had to replace drive after 6 months drive failed , ร dollars to rma to Seagate. The replaced drive appears to be operating fine, immediately after a different six months hopefully it stays like that Seagate replaced the drive quickly, never ever had to rma anything until this I believe a tiny bit of QA at the factory could keep this stuff from happening. |

Low-cost. S.M.A.R.T. on startup tells me the drive is Negative... all information ought to be backed up and HDD ought to be replaced. I purchased this unit on 11-29-ten Pay the added few bucks and get a greater hard drive. |

Tripled the storage of the personal computer I rebuilt to give to a relative. Had to experiment to get it to perform in old Athlon XP2600 technique running Windows XP. ASROCK SATA150 motherboard. Had to use the limiting jumper for Windows install, then take it off to get it to boot immediately after that. |

Shiny! Dead's not adequate? Nicely...not completely. It's alive adequate to make a really faint beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep / click / beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep I cringe just about every time I have to get a SATA drive from *any* manufacturer. It doesn't seem to matter which a single, it's a 50 gamble as to how long it will last. Assuming it's any good to start with. I bought a 1TB Seagate 30 days ago, and it died last night. Also late to RMA it by way of Newegg. |

In no way had a dilemma with Seagate. Even although it's a lower model, it's nevertheless quick adequate to use for a boot drive greater cache would be good Applied another well-identified brand and had two failures in a row for my customers. Sorry, WD, I'm sticking with Seagate! |

Runs wonderful when it runs. Doesn't run long. Built a laptop or computer for my daughter and following about 2 weeks use started getting lock ups and then when you would restart it wouldn't recognize the drive until you powered off the machine. Getting quite a few S.M.A.R.T. errors just like the other reviewer. Haven't contacted Seagate however but it sounds like it will be a waste of time. |

Operates well when working. Utilised for a backup drive. Immediately after 3 months when drive started to fill up to half way it began to not read the information on it. Then shortly soon after the error problem it would trigger blue screen and spontaneous reboot. Following lastly acquiring the PC to reboot I reformatted the drive. I could write to the drive but not read from the drive. When trying to read files it would lock up the PC and eventually blue screen. Needless to say it is tomorrows garbage. |

Great sizeFantastic construction I bought this at what I thought was a good value, but a few days later there had been larger 鶀GBs) for slightly less.Doesn't come with screws to mount in a drive cage. Luckily my case had a lot of added hardware. I bought this as a program drive for a media server I'm building, given that I don't want the OS on my information drives. It's also tricky to uncover a modest, inexpensive drive these days.
