Seasonic M12D 850W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 8PIN PCI-E 120MM Fan
Cons:The 8 pin CPU cable could have been longer and the cables are rather stiff but I've come across this with other new PSU.
Pros:Seasonic brand name, DC to DC, 5 year warranty, modular design, silent operation, massive power Comment:
I bought this PSU to replace my aging PCP&C Silencer 750W. The Seasonic M12D satisfies all my requirements. It's as silent as the PCP&C was or better except now I don't have 10 unused cables snaking in my case. It's shorter than the PCP&C which is good, too. I've read many reviews which point to this PSU being one of the very best you can buy at the moment so...I bought it! :) |

Seasonic M12D 850W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 8PIN PCI-E 120MM Fan
Cons:High price per Watt.
Pros:Beast of a Power Supply. Will handle anything you throw at it hopefully for the next 5 years.Seasonic build quality, which is always great. Comment:
Except for the high price per watt this is in my opinion the best power supply on the market. Get in on sale for around $150 and you can take power supply issues out of the equation. |

Seasonic M12D 850W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 8PIN PCI-E 120MM Fan
Cons:Fan doesn't spin at all sometimesOnly saved 1 peripheral cable from the modular
Pros:Quiet, fan doesn't spin at all sometimes, runs coolPrice after rebate ($149.99Cdn!!)Modular cables eaasy to route Comment:
When I first received the unit - put it on a tester and was surprised to see that the fan doesn't spin up at all; but power was being delivered to all of the cables. Then installed in a basic system that I was building at the time - same thing. Discovered that if the power draw on the supply is too low - the Smart & Silent Fan Controlwon't even start up the fan. Would have saved me some anxious moments if that was stated anywhere. Also - be aware that this is a partially modular power supply - the 24pin ATX, EPS 12V, 4pin ATX, 2 drop SATA cable and 2x6+2pin PCI-E cables are hardwired to the power supply. The rest are modular on 4 x peripheral sockets and 2 x PCI-E sockets. All in all - I only saved on 1 pheripheral and both PCI-E sockets, with one PCI-e and the 4pin ATX hardwired to the supply hanging around - goes to show that modular may not save you as much as you think. But for the price - had to get the supply. May be overkill though for my system. |
Bought it for 120$ on boxing day. PSU rocks insanely. Much better than having the tentacles of my previous TX750 laying around.
