Inexpensive. Shipping expenses almost as considerably as the item itself. I bought this to avoid dust from coming in the side vent on my Antec 300 situation. I can't see the single layer of mesh keeping a lot of dust out. The included screws are funky: they are self-tapping (why?) and have a very low thread count, i.e. the threads are really widely spaced and aggressive. You will not locate a nut that will operate with them if you are attempting to mount it with out a fan like I am. I believed the reviewers who have the same situation I do (Antec 300) who mentioned it is a 'perfect' fit: NOPE! Correct, the screw holes line up, but there are fairly massive gaps around the frame of the screen that will let dust into this case. This goes for mounting on either on the inside or the outside. I will nonetheless have to use some of my own mesh screening to cover the gaps anyway, so in the finish it wasn't actually worth the cash.

Does exactly what it's supposed to and looks very good performing it for a reasonable price. Not self-cleaning. I'll definitely be getting much more of these as necessary.

It works, the mesh still lets enough airflow. Have to take away from fan for cleaning. I use silicone fan mounts to mount this onto the fan. That way, removing the mesh for cleaning is easier.

Cheap, does what it was style to do. Good Mesh. Came with screws, but no nuts. Because I wasn't mounting it on any fans, I had to use other screws and nuts. -1 egg for not which includes any nuts with it. Use it for the empty side fan slot on the Antec 300 case

Cheap, looks good, fit very good, & uncomplicated to set up. As expected, the mesh filter does minimize air flow considerably. If you are working with a low speed/cfm fan, the reduced air flow may be too small for suitable cooling. I removed the mesh mainly because I didn't want to raise intake fan speed to compensate. I often clean my technique out anyway.

- Solid construction despite becoming lightweight plastic.- Black screws are an superb option for those who decide on to mount these on the outside of the case.- Low-cost! (I got these when they were ũ.99, but even at Ū.99 they're cheaper than any of the other selections I found).- Mesh screen is far more durable than foam, which breaks down more than time. My case came (CM690) came with two similar mesh screens and they are still in perfect condition. - Straightforward installation- They don't reduce airflow almost as significantly as foam filters.- They aren't bulky. These issues are two-four mm thick at most. In contrast to some case fan filter selections out there which can measure more than 1 thick. Thinner is much better if intend to run an immediately after-marketplace CPU heatsink and fan.- To my greatest estimation, these filters do direct airflow in a additional compact, much less spread out, pattern. As the claimed by the manufacturer. Not a con about the item, but if I have to use this space to gripe, I'd say that each fan really should come with one particular of these. And/or every case. Dust packed into CPU heatsink fins negates airflow, and therefore cooling, so why don't all circumstances offer filters? These belong in every single case. The manufacturer's intended installation is to install these on intake fans and inside the case, directly to the the exhaust side of the fan (blowing in) to catch the dust. Check their site for a demonstration of installation and airflow direction. Nonetheless, one particular could effortlessly install these on the outside of the case (to save room for a enormous CPU cooler or just for looks) by operating the screw through the filter, then the case and into the fan. Most case fan screws must be much more than long adequate to go through the filter and case and nevertheless have additional than adequate threads to securely attach to the fan.Final note: I installed three of these on case fans in my case. Prior to installation, my Phenom II 6-core 1090T Ɠ.2Ghz) w/stock cooler ran at 30c-32c at idle with mobo temps at 35c. With the filters installed, I'm seeing a rise of only 1-2c at idle on the cpu and mobo each. So airlow's not becoming overly restrictive, which is a plus.

It certainly works, since in the month I've owned it I've had to clean dust off of it currently. It's just a fan cover I'm not a computer system professional, and this element was employed in the course of my very first make. Enthusiasts, ignore what I have to say.

They come with screws, and can fit on the outside of your case, rather of clamping onto the fan itself, like some other individuals I have noticed about here Dont cease as substantially dust as I had hoped. Following about a month, I still noticed a disconcerting amount of dust inside my case. Yes its less then it was, but nonetheless much more then Id like Ill admit, I dodnt put these on any Silverstone instances. I have two NZXT Beta cases (one with four fans, 1 with 6) and they do a fairly decent job at controlling the dust intake from the side panel fans, but it could be a small better. Ill just assume its because they had been produced for silverstone situations. Could be worse, I guess! Manufacturer Response:Thank you quite significantly for buying SilverStone products. If you haven't already, we suggest that you configure your case for positive pressure (more intake airflow than exhaust) to much more effectively preserve the dust out. For detailed information on positive pressure and its benefits, please check out our post in the following link:http://www.silverstonetek.com/tech/wh_positive.php?area=

The mesh screen filter appears fine enough to block out every little thing except for the finest particles (like flour). The frame is glossy black plastic and it comes with 4 black screws which goes nicely with my Thermaltake V3. The holes for the screws are too large for the screws. It'll attach to a case fan just fine, but if want a standalone filter on a case vent you may possibly be out of luck. I suppose a workaround for using it as a standalone filter would be to get some bolts to fasten the screws onto the filter.

Superior to cover up unsightly fans. I didnt will need the filtering so I cut the screen out of the grill for added airflow due to the fact I clean my computers on a regular basis. none affordable, straightforward to get installed, screws that came with were long adequate to get a very good grip into the fan by way of plexi glass as well. will get more

It was also Very Cheap!Extremely Quick Shipping from NewEgg! Doesnt filter my Ex's mouth and it wont bake me a cake. To clean it you need to have to Unscrew the fan its connected to. Keep in mind tho this filters created to fit in between a fan and your case so no the screws supplied are Not going to attach it to something without the fan. defend the PC from dust, effortless to clean, appear great could possibly have a superior filter but I feel it may well make it tougher to clean if it did I installed these on my pc and they catch fairly a bit of dust. Whenever I'm cleaning I just use the hose attachment and run it more than them actual quick and it sucks all of the dust out. My case is so far spottless inside considering that working with them.
