What can you say about a $17 switch (with free shipping) that requires zero config? Either you plug everything in and it works or it doesn't. This works and gets full 1.0 Gbps transfer. No complaints. Not really any reason to buy a more expensive switch unless you need more ports or a business solution. |

Bought this switch at $25 a few months back, just an ordinary 8 port GigE switch, switches all 8 ports at 16gigs easily.Haven't taken this switch apart to assess the quality of the caps and power supply block, but wouldn't trust this switch at all for anything that requires redundancy. Great for low cost home lab virtualization and clustering setups. |

I bought two of these to expand the gigabit ethernet coverage of my home and they simply just work. Since they are unmanaged switches, there is no configuration needed. The small PCBs also served my purpose well as I wanted to place one of the switches in the casing of an old Linksys router so that I could stack it with my WRT54GL router. Obviously this voids my warranty, but so far I had a good experience with TP-Link products so I'm not too worried. And at the price these are going at, it's worth the risk. |

Pros:Speed, and price. Also, the ports are autodetectable, which means that no crossover cable is needed for the uplink port! Comment:
This is a good netowork switch to expand connexions with autodetection making a crossover cable unnecessary. (Autodetection worked for the fifth port, but I have not tested with other ports.) The energy saving mode is good, but I have no way of knowing how good it is. The actual model is black, which looks a lot smarter. |

Simply plug and forget and it just works as it should. |
