TRENDnet TV-IP110W Wireless Internet Camera Server - 640x480, 3x Digital Zoom
Comment:
Enjoy the wireless. Managed to get this on sale, but is decent item for the price either way. The pictures are quite very good and connection was very rapid. I was simply in a position to assign a static IP employing the directions from the website. Recording computer software worked adequately and I was in a position to stream to a NAS drive for added security I haven't employed a lot of the recording characteristics, but I can indeed see a need to reset the recording program periodically. I believe if you set the system up on a script to shut down and restart as soon as a day, you'd have small or no troubles, but I realize that isn't ideal in all circumstances.

Comment:
Nice unit overall. Smaller, good physical design. For the price tag, it does a lot. Resolution is not wonderful, but usable. Functions till practically dark outside. The motion sensor is quirky at very best. Persons can walk correct by way of a motion sensor box devoid of triggering it (virtually no little blip that indicates motion), so the only way I can get this function is to set the sensitivity down SO low that it fires off a lot of false alarms - not superior if you are receiving e-mail alerts. And the photo is an attachment to the e-mail, which calls for opening the e-mail and THEN the attachment, making it challenging if you get a bunch. Regardless of continuous fiddling with the sensitivity and box sizes, I either get no notification or lots of false alarms.Wireless range seems not to be quite excellent. The integrated computer software doesn't appear to have been updated in a couple of years, and is a bit quirky in areas.

This camera was in my price range. It needs little attention once that it is set up. I scrapped the monitiring software program that came with it and applied the cost-free Vitamin D software that does a substantially greater job of motion sensing recording. You can nevertheless have multiple login's to the camera from any internet browser. For those of you having lock up problems may well I recommend you consider replacing your router. I'm utilizing an Apple N router and in no way have lockup difficulties or require t reboot the camera. I've had the camera in operation for 9 months difficulty no cost. Bundled recording software is cumberson to use.

Good camera to take periodic snapshots and ftp them up to a internet site. We use it to monitor a driveway to make confident it's been snow cleared. We've had great success with this device and advocate it. It would be nice if there was an automobile focus on this unit. Focusing it needs a neighborhood Computer which can be complicated.

Comment:
I lastly have a stand alone camera with motion detection. I have 10 other TrendNet/Encore cameras that need a Computer operating computer software to monitor the cameras to detect motion. I can\'t use that sort of motion detection as it makes use of too many resources. The Tv-IP110W has two windows that can be setup to detect motion in any or all places of the picture. The snapshot detections can be sent via FTP or e mail. My testing shows that the detection is dependable as long as the ambient light is bright adequate to see the motion. The time and date can be inserted in the picture. The camera can be configured to query an world wide web timeserver to keep its time up to date. I use pool.nto.org for the time server. The setup software that makes it possible for you to alter the IP address wouldn't function so I had to make contact with TrendNet support. My call was answered promptly and the aid I received enabled me to alter the IP address in a few minutes. Right after I downloaded the full manual from the manufacturer's internet site, I discovered that the process was in the total manual. Anyway, tech support was quick and beneficial. Now all I have to do is figure out how I'm going to mount these cameras in my camera housings for use outdoors. The Television-IP100W's have the mounting threads on the bottom. The Television-IP110W has them on the back. I'll have to make a mod. I have had four TrendNet/Encore cameras operating outdoors, in enclosures, without having heaters, for 9 months. Even the cold of West Virginia mountain winters has not affected them. I will be acquiring much more of these as lengthy as they are reliable. I have had no failures with the other ten cameras that I have.

Low cost, has LAN and Wireless, the software is great sufficient to suit my needs (just utilised the IE applet version). There is an android app that is a nice bonus if you want to use a smartphone to monitor your camera - "SecurView Mobile" readily available for cost-free in the android market place.Does support modern wifi encryption.I am in a position to stream to ftp, over the world wide web and send e-mail alerts with no further investment. No secure smtp (so you can't send by means of a gmail account, for example). This is not the easiest camera to set up, and took some troubleshooting. Image top quality is really poor, but not a lot worse than expected. I just followed the directions on dyndns.org to get the camera working on the web with out a fixed IP.You can send e-mails to gmail, even so they will go into your spam folder at very first, so be sure to add the camera e-mail address to your contacts list!I had no dilemma using the reset button to reset the camera (unlike another reviewer).

TRENDnet TV-IP110W Wireless Internet Camera Server - 640x480, 3x Digital Zoom
Comment:
It has motion detection. The camera continually locks up. I have a wired camera, Television-IP110, and it locks up too. I have fixed the lock up difficulty for my application. I purchased a energy controller that makes it possible for me to turn on and off electrical appliances and lights. I set a timer and wrote a macro for the controller. Every single night the controller turns off the power for ten seconds to make the camera reboot. It almost usually fixes the lock up challenge. "Almost" is the key word here. Some times it locks up in less than 24 hours.I'm surprised that the manufacturer hasn't corrected this difficulty. This is a major difficulty. It happens in additional than 1 model. This camera is genuinely not worth the price.

Visually it looks great. External detachable antenna if you need to have to upgrade it. Great range, I have it operating via numerous walls and a garage and no lag. A good deal for the cost. No night vision or wireless N, but I knew this ahead of I bought it. Haven't observed any problems the other people today are getting. Make confident you keep the firmware up to date.

One of the least expensive wireless cameras Terrible range-one wall and about 15 feet max (three occasions worse than the worst laptop I own).Poor quality pictureManual focus is finickyDrops frames, locks up Took a shot, but a waste of sixty quid. Three-year old thought it was enjoyable to watch the delayed, jerky image of his moving self.

Decent picture, easy to setup, lots of options, quickly over the network If the power goes out, it remembers all the settings, EXCEPT the date and time. Why?Motion detection pics up the most sensitive movements. So if I increase the level.... I hardly ever goes off, even with the most obvious movement. Wish the energy cable was a small longer.

Good Camera
Comment:
I purchased this to set up in my apartment so I could what my cat does all day long. You will need some knowledge on port forwarding and static ip's in order to set it up so you can view the camera remotely. Also I wasn't able to set it up to record video when it detects motion. I could only get it to record constantly. Maybe just user error though. All and all a decent camera and a good price.

Great Price, Does what it says.
Comment:
Got this camera in Feb 2010, recieved next from your company, had it up and running that night. Average computer users may find it a bit difficult to access from outside home network. Instructions don't cover that part (ie, static vs dynamic IP's, Port forwarding). But the camera does work once you get through it. Video quality is not excellent, but for $90... i can't complain

Great Deal
Comment:
I got one unit in X'mas after tested and confirmed work with my iphone. I got another one this week. Great Deal! Pro: great price, easy to work with.. Con: when configure smtp, limits to port 25 without any encryption support, and Nowaday many internet requires smtp client with SSL encryption support and port change other than 25.. So motion detection trigger sending email notification will never work with my ISP..

So Far Video Freezes Up - No Help from Support
Comment:
I purchased 2 of these cameras. The Image freeze up in both cameras either immediately or soon after boot up. Support finally told me that they couldn't solve the problem and that someone from 113-support would be contacted me. I was at work so we made arrangements for him to call me at 5pm. The call never came. I have contacted management via email and no response. I Put in a trouble-ticket today in the hopes of getting someone to help. Overall a very poor experience. I am not happy with the product or the support.

Won't work with FTP or email

I was unable to make this device work with the internet storage FTP. When I called the customer service number I was told that the FTP device needs to be on my own network, not the internet. The information manual doesn't say that.

Very satisfied
Comment:
These are great cameras and come with all the mounting hardware so you can set them up at any angle. Installation and setup was fairly easy. Picture quality is great for the price, actually much better than some more expensive cameras I've seen. Works great in low light, though obviously not in the dark. I wasn't super thrilled with the monitoring sofware, but subsequently I realized that my computer is pretty old and is probably getting bogged down by all the video. I'm using a different software anyway which lets me monitor the cameras through my BlackBerry Pearl when I'm away. Overall a great product at a very decent price. Highly recommend it! The one complaint I do have is the cable on the AC adapter is way too short. If you mount the camera up near the ceiling, the cable is too short to reach a standard wall plug directly below the camera. I had to splice it to lengthen it. Minor issue, but maybe they can resolve it in future versions.

Not a bad camera, I had some major issues getting the images to post on a website. The issue is that you can upload an image with a constant file name i.e. image.jpg The names are some what random numbers. I had to get the help of a php programmer to help me come up with a script that will take the newest file based on time stamp and display that. There tech support was so so, never returned my calls but they do have an 1800 that is 24/7 so that is great. To view my camera have a look, I created a Bird feeder webcam. http://www.doginfog.ca/bird-cam/

Great product! Surprisingly good tech support as well. I needed to get a still image out of this camera and all it seemed to support was live video. But TRENDnet tech support sent me the entire CGI spec for the web server in the camera, so now I can do all kinds of tricks with it. Thanks TRENDnet, and thanks TD!

When I purchased these cameras (got two of them) I was expecting to get what I paid for. These cameras meet and exceeded what I expected. Just a few dissapointments mainly because of lack of features and functionallity but I could have paid a little more to recieve those. I was able to program both and on the internet in a about an hour. Had no instructions on how to port forward through my router, so that took a some time to figure that out. Ended up being a little fun accually. Have not messed with the included camera management software yet but I don't for see the need for it right now. If your looking for a basic easy to use camera that doesn't require night vision then this is for you.
