Thermaltake TR2 TRX-650M 650W Power Supply
Cons:None so far......

Pros:Decent price, good build quality.
Comment:
Great solid build, good quality all around. Modular hook ups, nice mesh sleeves on the cables, everything is tight. Fan is fairly quiet being a large fan. This is the second time I have used a Thermaltake power supply in a computer build, both are running strong and both I would happily buy again.

Lean and mean deviceɅ) Direct PSU cables are created for Complete Tower circumstances so you won't have troubles in length ྸ-PIN, 4Ʋ PIN, PCI-E)two) Modular wires have the same length ratio as the built-in wiresthree) Incredibly quiet fan4) Packaged by manufacturer with class None truly... Cables are a bit thick, but manageable in flexing to organize them in a bundled pattern. I have an aging Centurion mid-atx case with an acrylic window so I like my cable dressing pleasing to the eye.

It can run a quadcore processor with a geforce 260 with no concerns (when it operates) The power button (rocker switch) on the back of the power supply broke and popped out inside a month, creating the power supply useless. If you require a paperweight, there are cheaper ones out there, but thats about all this powersupply is very good for contemplating the style of the switch on it. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may possibly have caused you. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for warranty service.Greatest regards,

Fantastic though it worked. Quiet. 5 year warranty. Died after 6 months of near continuous use. Help service was poor and slow. I purchased an additional brand replacement. Thermaltake help was terrible. I attempted to get "Advance Service" cross shipping of a replacement and got an RMA quantity swiftly. But they didn't ship a replacement till following I returned the original various weeks later. Their reply to my e-mail queries had been in broken English asking once more for proof of buy that I sent them weeks earlier. I received a brand new replacement from them 15 days soon after they acknowledged receipt of my dead power supply.

Very stable, powerful and quiet PSU. Cables are thick and longer than I expected, which produced it tougher for me run free flowing inside my Centurion mid-ATX case. I bundle them and run it to the side for a pleasing visual. I didn't have to do something radical in the cable dressing, the number of plugs was precise for my need to have. I only utilised 1 modular Serial and 1 modular molex. Even the molex covered anything, 1 old CD drive, HDD fan and a LED light/scanner. So it was neat-neat. Not genuinely a con, but the cables appears too stiff. No complaints. It functions. Price a small bit of the greater side contemplating you can uncover other manufacturers with the same Efficiency for much less dough. I'm a Thermaltake fan although.

Practically quiet I didn't want a super expensive PSU just a quiet 1. Good quality is definitely a plus with regards to this Energy Supply.Only one out of the four-five listing that says it is superquiet. Perfection comes at a cost but I'm not complaining. As soon as you know you go Thermaltake and Newegg. I don't even know why I attempted to purchase another one particular.I bought a diverse brand one from fleabay but unfortunately it came loud and had a smell that was irritating.Didn't think it would fit in a MATX XQPack2 Apevia case but this PSU proved me wrong. Why even bother purchasing a distinct PSU!

High quality, lengthy sleeved cables, major fan with low noise and air flow. Too several molex cables! I havent utilised anything molex for years just like IDE devices. Modular energy supplies are generally aimed at greater end users. Most high finish users dont use molex powered hardware or molex fans since it interferes with cable management! Considering that I am going to be putting together a rig in a MicroATX case, I would have hoped they would have included a cable that just had 2 SATA connectors on it instead of three. All I will need is one HDD and 1 disc drive. That third empty SATA connection on that cord will almost certainly get in the way of my cable management and stick out like bump in the road.

Quiet, modular, a lot of connectors. None so far I bought this power supply to replace a 410 W one. With the earlier one particular, whenever I began the laptop or computer, it was shutting itself down and restart about 10 occasions before it would manage to fully boot up. I was not 100% it was the PS, it seems like I got it right this time.Technique: E6700; ASUS P5K; GTS250 MSI; four GB AData DDR2 800; Windows 7

Has been powering up my method for five months. Very good amps on the 12V rail. Modular. The sleeving on the cables is low cost, and its been stretched too a lot. Can clearly see the cables. The TR2 series has a negative name.Thermaltake has 3 corporations making this PSU, and each and every 1 is not superior than the other. The 750 Watt version of the PSU was reviewed and failed at 450 watts. You could be finding a great 650 Watt PSU, or some bad 450 Watt. If you are obtaining Thermaltake PSU's, go for the Toughpower series, those are excellent and have been tested to output the stated wattage. The 12V rail only outputs 528 Watts. Appear elsewhere if you are searching for higher output. I havent had any complications, but I'm not finding close to maxing out the PSU. The PSU in common is good, but it has been reviewed and tested to not deliver the stated wattage at high temperatures or fail at low wattage. Obtain this PSU at your own threat, and dont attempt SLI or Crossfire on this PSU.

Silent, modular style and excellent construction good quality.Impressive worth for upgrading stock brand name systems. This is by no mean a "con" but if you are upgrading a medium tower or smaller, expect to wrestle with the long and thick cables until your hands are raw and bloody. This unit is considerably superior suited for larger cases. Immediately after performing some homework, I identified out that the dell studio xps 435mt my psu was meant for is known for being incredibly picky about power supplies and will not boot on a lot of corsair models as properly as other people much less documented ones due to slight atx normal discrepancies. This model occurs to function perfectly.

Thermaltake TR2 TRX-650M 650W Power Supply
Comment:
The fans are really quiet, even under heavy load on my newly-built gaming program... the AMD CPU fan is louder! The modular cable style makes cable management very nice as there are no loose cables laying about the case. Offers adequate power to my program even with 3x RAID array and 6870 graphics card running 3x eyefinity. The program energy cables are just lengthy sufficient to reach the 4-pin ATX connector via my Azza case's cable management path. Minor gripe but worth keeping in mind if you have a cable management case.As has been stated there is only 1 dual-head 6-pin cable, which works fine for a single-head setup with the newer graphics cards which demand two 6-pin power connections. The straightforward answer for a dual-head technique would be to use the adapters supplied with the graphics card to convert two of the older style molex adapters for the 2nd video card. Not perfect, but it can be done. Not worth losing an egg. My energy switch has been fine immediately after repeated use, but I am careful with it.

I agree with several of the positive reviews of this product and yesterday would have given this item a 5 egg rating. In certain: "High high quality, lengthy sleeved cables, massive fan with low noise and air flow." Nevertheless.... The plastic I/O switch just popped off 1 afternoon when I was not household, rendering my new laptop or computer ƕ days old) unusable. Though this energy supply could otherwise be a wonderful item, such a fragile piece is a troubling achilles heel that is capable of disabling your personal computer.I emailed Thermaltake for customer service, which initiated an impersonal automated warranty method. Calling Thermaltake directly yielded conversations that directed me back to the automated method. Getting completed the RMA procedure I have to now package and return the entire unit for the failure of a silly small plastic part. I would like to get this item in the mail and get a replacement ASAP so I can basically use my computer, but am left waiting for a response from Thermaltake, hoping to receive a return shipping label considering that the item failed so quickly immediately after purchase Even if the warranty process goes smoothly I will nonetheless have an otherwise robust power supply with a fragile I/O switch. As a common rule be sure to save your all your original packaging materials, just in case you want a full refund.Final thought: Getting a customer service rep who could pretend to care, lets me vent for a minute, and then took 5 minutes to support me over the phone and give me confidence in the process could have salvaged my rating of this item and created me a loyal customer. Rather I'm waiting for an email and venting by way of my customer rating. Bummer. Manufacturer Response:Dear Customer,We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may well have caused you. Well, i had the NZXT GAMMA, and the rubber grommets on the bottom kept getting stuck in the fan grills. Fan grills are too large imo.The sleeving was not done as great, but it's there. perfect since i don't have a window in my case.

Cons: Fan is a little loud

Pros: Extra power, modular, decent price
Comment:
This power supply runs my Radeon 5850 and quad core Phenom no problem. I did have to mod the fan as it spins way to fast even when the computer is underclocked and idling. With the fan modded it runs very quiet and cool, even when gaming.
