Comes with a sata lead that goes from the mainboard to a blanking-plate (bought a PCI eSATA card along with the dock that I don't require) with the eSATA connection on it. Guess I didn't check to see what the dock came with really.The dock is produced of plastic but it is solid and heavy.It is so much much less of pain in the rear to swap drives working with the dock rather than open up the laptop case each five minutes. None. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Building a modest library of TB HD's rather than getting rooms full of DVD's in boxes so a dock is important for that objective.
