Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:heat, but you can fix that by raising the fan speed.

Pros:performance + quality " vivid colors and visuals "
Comment:
This is the best card i've ever owned. What to say.....plays all the games very smoothly at the highest settings available with aa and af turned on.Here are some numbers:in crysis at 1680x1050 res. with all on very high-no filters,i get about 29fps in average.cod4 1680x1050 res. all maxed out-4x aa-16x af:70-100+fpsasassins creed at 22" res. all maxed out-6x aa 16x af:50-90fpsdon't think twice, Get this card.I didn't even bother myself to overclock it.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:Noise

Pros:cheap, runs relatively cool, pretty silent, extremely fast

very happy with this card, its a fantastic deal that im 100% happy with. After buying i was sketchy i made a bad move since i was coming from an 8800gt and didn't know how much of a performance upgrade it'd be, but let me tell you it was definatley worth it. I'm really impressed with this card, good job ati = ). Running this on a corsair 550watt psu easy. Overall GREAT card for the money.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:-I am having a bug getting video to come back on after power-save, but I'm not sure that it is the video card's fault

Pros:-quiet as far as stock fans go
Comment:
ATI succeeds again. This is an outstanding video card.I haven't been able to push this card to its limit yet with my 1680x1050 monitor. Even in games like Assassin's Creed it runs flawlessly. The sound level is audible when in games, but usually silent at desktop (in vista).

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:idle temps are high, still waiting for official drivers, lack of supported overclocking software

Pros:Relatively Quiet, easy to install, awsome performance per watt, card takes almost no hit with AA turned on, crossfire scales very well.
Comment:
I have a pair of these and can say without a doubt they are the very best cards I have ever owned. I am very satisfied with the performance especially considering the price. I have them setup in crossfire and they are phenominal. A single card was out performing my 3870x2, and in crossfire, there is no comparison. I can play Crysis with 4xAA at 1680x1050 and get pretty much 60FPS. COD4 is in the 100+ range with full AA and at 1920x1200. Just an awsome product that will only get better with newer drivers. I would highly recommend this for people that want gtx260 performance and more without the hefty pricetag of Nvidia.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:Noise, but i dont really mind since i use headphones anyways, also its the sound of ppowwaaa! haha

Pros:Very fast! i noticed a big performance increase in all my games, especially crysis, i can now run it with 4 aa smoothly , my 8800gt couldn't at all. Lifetime warranty is also a nice bonus.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card

Pros:Everything, blows through everything thrown at it....crysis maxed out with AA enabled. just simply an amazing card

An amazing card...blows through everything thrown at it....crysis maxed out with AA enabled. just simply an amazing card. ATI made a good batch these 4800 series and hopefully this gets them back in the game against nvidia. I was allways an nvidia fanboy untill the x1900xtx came out then i went ati.the 8800 series dominated and now ati is putting out quality products again. Keep it up ATI or should i say amd lol

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:Loud fanIssue with soundRuns quite hot

Pros:Good video card
Comment:
First of all, I would like to say that this is an amazing card. I am able to play new games quite smooth at 1920x1200. There are some problems, though. First, it took me an hour to set up so I can get sound back after installing this card. Second, the fan on this card is quite loud, especially when the computer has just been booted up. Also, sometimes the fan goes crazy for a second and then slows back down in Windows (Vista x86), even when I'm only opening a browser or something.Overall, I think this is a great card with some slight problems.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:Runs hotter that 3870

Pros:Price performance
Comment:
Oversome job NCIX to get me the card next day! Purchased it to replace my dual HD3780 (Crossfire setup). Basically this card replaces two 3870 by performance, I can only imagine how this stuff will work with dual CrossFire, although I don't think there is any game that can take that much power except Crysis, so I stick to one for now.Card runs hotter than 3870 with stock setting, I plan to tweak fan speed trough Catalyst config file to bring temps down.I like Visontek more over Diamond for better stock cooling heatsink.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:hmmm, fan speed set too low (23%), requires manual profile. Better drivers are needed but that will come soon (I hope).

Pros:POWER. Runs everything smoothly at my 1600 x 1200 resolution with bells and whistles on. Cool and quiet.
Comment:
I haven't been on the Red team for years, but they've come out with a winner here. Renders wonderful quality with the power necessary. Very impressed. I did a mild overclock - ram at 4ghz and it seems totally at ease there.Until they get fan speed control in the drivers, you have to manually create fan speed profiles but that is an easy workaround which works fine. At 35%, the fan is quiet and the temps are 55c idle, 75c max (I'm using the 8.7 beta drivers now from guru3d). Glad you're back ATI. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-09-08 07:17 PM

Pros:Just awesome

This card is just awesome. It looks great even though it's the same as the Diamond 4870. I maxed everything out on Mass Effect and bioshock on a 22" screen.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI-I Video Card
Cons:Fan can be loud, drivers need to matureMy review is not visible online why?

Pros:A truely remarkable product, amazing performance, superfast, doesn't sweat Crysis at "High" settings. The ratio of dollar per FPS is the best on the market, its about time Nvidia is given something to sweat about.Low power consumption compared to Nvidia cards.Excellent warranty
Comment:
Finally after about 2 years of drought and duds, ATI finally made a blockbuster card. My mobo doesn't have PCI 2.0, if it did I think the Crysis GPU bench test would have hit 50fps average. The drivers are still way too new,so Catalyst 8.7 will probably iron out what are almost perfect drivers. You can see ATI has really worked hard and put alot of thought into this.Excellent value for the performance. I will continue to test this card for few months and get a second one for X-Fire and a DFI X-fire Mobo.Right now I am using the Asus A8N32SLI with 2 gig RAM and and Opteron 180 2.4 GHz.....absolutely no OCing and runs like a charm, I know the CPU is probably holding this card back....Highly recommended This review was modfied by poster x 07-04-08 11:34 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 07-09-08 07:38 PM
