Installed in a three yr old Dell Dimension 4600i that originally came with 256MB PC3200 DDR (Dual Channel). Immediately after installing this item 鹀MB x two memory modules for dual channel), the laptop or computer efficiency & speed elevated to where it was no longer painfully slow to commence up and open applications. None that I could locate. This Dell computer system, like other individuals that use an integrated video chip on the motherboard, steals a portion of the total program memory to share as video memory. That meant that the computer system really had much less than the 256MB technique memory offered. If it had an add-on devoted video card with its own memory, this would not have been the case. But 256MB is nonetheless too low for currently's applications. |

And lately after wiping my difficult drive and beginning fresh... my ram has been causing my method to crash... It crashes just about ever 30-45 minutes and memtest found numerous errors in my ram... Even though knowledge has told me to never ever purchase electronic equipment from a sketchy brand - i was mislead into buying this ram since of 1) the price tag and 2) the customer review... |

One of the least expensive 1 GB kit of ddr ram on newegg. Worked fine, did its job and the laptop or computer recognized and utilized it automatically - no tweaking the bios or installing drivers. (This may be a tribute to the pc but I'm glad that the RAM was compatible) Virtually believed I was going to break it upon install, since I had to push fairly difficult - not sure if this is the norm or not although. Also doesn't come with directions, so it might be challenging for the much less technically inclined folks to figure it out. Its not THAT tough although - Just line up and push down =) I was worried at first, given other critiques that it would break down soon or some thing, but it hasn't wavered considering that I got it about a week ago. Hopefully it will stay excellent till the computer system is replaced. (Knock on wood) |

Low cost, functions completely fine following just snapping in, just checked and it's operating in Dual Channel Mode, only I can believe of is that they aren't too pretty to appear at By looking at the critiques it looks like 10% of the time they arrive not operating, but remember people today with negative opinions are a lot a lot more likely to go via the effort to write a review than men and women with positive ones. |

Open case, insert two memory sticks, close case, accomplished. BIOS and Windows XP saw it no issue. I bought a low-cost Dell Optiplex 270 Ɠ GHz) off a scratch & dent table at a pc show for web surfing, office apps, and my media library. With this upgrade, I can run every little thing at as soon as and the machine doesn't bog down. For the dollars, none. The 512 Mb that came in the machine are only PC2700 single channel, so I can't use these chips at full speed. But it's so inexpensive, I may just get a different kit and replace the old modules. |
I'm currently running one particular of these 512s at 233 Mhz, and the latency is perfect. XP boots up on my Athlon XP 1800+ in, literally, 9 seconts. I've clocked it as well! How can there be cons with RAM...unless it doesn't perform or one thing! If you require a gig, or 512, this is affordable, and powerful!
