According to evaluations (as it never produced it far enough for me to judge) it's quickly. Big capacity.It died speedily. No lingering about... It died. Immediately after futzing with errors for a week, the dilemma revealed itself to be the HDD. By no means truly had a probability to get it completely up and operating. A single star may well not be fair for a single test subject. Nonetheless, the test topic was mine, it was high-priced, and it didn't work. In fairness, its the first undesirable HDD I've ever had of any maker. WDD has been very good prior to, so I'll contact them tomorrow and see what can be performed. |

Not DOA.Massive.Boots Win7 promptly, shuts down rapidly, quick forwarding and skipping by way of video is seamless. five.9 WEI for disk (if you care about this stuff)Too loud for HTPC. Fast and higher capacity Early mortality I bought 5 of these drives. I'm employing four in a RAID 1ǖ configuration. 1 drive died proper away as indicated by the RAID management SW. Inside two weeks, an additional drive started giving uncorrectable parity errors. It seems that early mortality is a problem. I hope the survivors reside a extended life. Newegg was good in replacing the dilemma drives. I have a lot invested now to have to switch to a far more trusted 2T drive.Employing the new SandyBridge 2600K CPU with the B3 revision of ASUS P8P67 motherboard and RocketRaid 2720 Raid controller. 16 GB Gskill Ripjaw DDR3 memory.A quite capable program for photography storage and editor. |

mechanical 7200 RPM Challenging Drive scores 5.9 in Windows rating but that means nothing at all.It is a 7200 RPM difficult drive and is very quickly compared to the other people.It took six.two seconds off my boot time-that is not a lot but for comparing 7200 RPM Tricky Drives,this is a decent speed increase.It also took does nicely in down loading substantial files.Saved me 53 sec. Downloading some smaller files had been behind the speed of the Seagate Xt but that is most likely user problem(me)might want to update a couple of items then run the test again. And the couple tests I have accomplished so far a just slight preliminary tests of random b.s. I am doing so I can give someone the thought of how very good a drive this seriously is,especially for the price tag.This drive is slightly greater than my Seagate Barracuda XT 2tb.I keep in mind when that drive came out,I paid 跋.99 for that. |

Quickly and Dense Early Mortality EJ commented that these drives are not advised by WD for RAID application. I checked the WD website following reading his comment and WD says they are not tested for enterprise RAID applications, but they ARE Recommended AND TESTED FOR Consumer RAID APPLICATIONS SUCH AS RAID 1 AND RAID . So, my comments stand for my use in a Customer RAID (for residence use in my case) application. |

I picked up this drive to combine with my 500 GB WD steam games drive that I filled up. Had no issues with combining them into a single 2.5 TB drive. I didn't even have to format the 500 GB one.It has loads of room and is very fast. I use WD for all my hard drives and have never had a drive fail in the 5 and a half years I had my computer.I would of tried the seagate drive as it was larger and cheaper, but the fact it only has 1 year coverage, kinda tells me why it priced so low and I have had seagate drives fail on me before. |

Extremely good drive. Benchmark reveals 170MB/s reads and writes. Transfers files to my SSD drive as quick as 300-400MB/s beneath certain circumstances.64MB Cache, 7200 RPM. Hold it cool, so it will final. Usually hold backups. Would by this drive again for performance storage. |

This is the loudest hard drive I've had since a 1986 Seagate 20 MB hard drive. While seeking it can be easily heard in the next room. The idle noise is on the edge of acceptable.In practice I see little benefit of the extra speed of the drive as I ended up putting the temporary files and page file onto my older, slower, but quieter drive to keep the total noise down.
