I own it for almost a year and a half now and it still works like new.Since I use it as a secondary storage, it often shuts down and may require some time to restart again. It is understandable, but still a hassle if I only want to access small files quickly.

You will most likely see them on sale quite a bit, so if you can wait, at least for free shipping. Do so! Runs great, not too expensive as 3TB, and around the same price for 1TB. Comment: A great Hard drive with good speed. Recording gameplay is not an issue with Seagate.

As long as you use it for all its intents and purposes, everything should be fine.

Pros:WD, quiet, reasonably fast, reasonably priced, WD. Comment: Needed some more storage, to free up a couple of smaller drives for another machine, and so far I've been pleased with this drive.Good points:- Quiet- Reasonably fast, for a green drive, i.e. almost as fast as a couple of other 7200rpm drives we use for storing media.- WD quality- Price was ok, with a pricematchAs usual, with any drive, one of the main things to look for is longevity, and buying this drive was based on the reliability of other WD drives we've bought in recent years, so hopefully this one lasts as long as the others have.

Pros:Quiet and cool Comment: This drive has been installed in a small NAS for a couple weeks now and has worked perfectly. It spins down to save power when you are not using it, so there is a couple second delay when you access it the first time after sleep. I use it to stream media to my tv so this is not a problem.
