Both died or eventually bad sectors. I bought 2 250gig hd 7yrs ago. To this day never ever had issue with them. I just built new system and very happy with this for i can take files with me and plug it in another computer.

It otherwise does the job perfectly. Got it on sale for 60$, and it was worth it.

I always liked the passport series and had a few usb2 before this one.

Pros:portable, size of drive Comment: ive owned quite a few portable drives and this one seems to be louder then the rest.also i had a slight issues with my macbook pro. the initial time i plugged it in it crashed the laptop and seemed to change the startup disk to none. i believe it was an anomaly and would buy again

Pros:quiet, usb powered, very small, decent build quality Comment: This is a tiny little drive, a little thicker but much shorter than any of my other 2.5" externals. Speed seems good, and nice and quiet, doesn't seem to get too hot. Comes with plenty of software that some will find useful, including NTFS compatibility for Macs. However, I just reformatted it to HFS+.
