This board is awesome! It is modest so you can location it just about anywhere. I placed mine just proper subsequent to the Tv, then turned an antique radio into an HTPC with it. Comes with a power supply. Just like what you would get with a laptop, this keeps the heat out of the case that you use. Built in graphics are truly very good, have had not issue with video playback. Kinda runs hot I genuinely assume they really should have shipped the heatsink with a fan, I placed the one it came with on the heatsink and now it does not even get warm. If you are seeking for a superior modest board that can do just about anything then this is it. I am even thinking About overclocking and seeing if it can handle some games.

Ion chipset. DVI. HDMI. The description about Raid 5 is incorrect. Zotac's internet site say this is RAID ǗǖƯ. No mention of Raid five. Do not buy this if this is important like the other writer stated. I nearly purchased this to get the Raid 5, but looked at the Manf website first. Glad I did.

Good at rendering video content material (if you get your hands on a GPU accelerated video player). I was able to get this small sucker to render 1080p video in real time with no choppiness (as promised by the ION chip). It even works decently as a normal computer. Presently operating Ubuntu and making use of mplayer for playback. Highly recommended if you can get a very good case and ancillary parts for the factor. It came with a CPU fan which, although listed as optimal, I couldn't even come across a mount point for. I doubt I'll need to have it as it is a pretty efficient technique. Got this as portion of a bundle (which ensured I'd have compatible parts). The case is TINY so it was a bit difficult to get almost everything together, but totally worth it. I can now have a box with roughly the similar mass as the average laptop outputting 1080p and using practically no power hiding in the living-room.Long term impressions TBD.

It does every thing I want for the most part. The wireless N is awesome and the size is fantastic. I really like how cool it stays. It struggles with hd content material streaming by way of my network. This is the only htpc I have that struggles with 720 and above. I got a killer bundle and would make the buy once more, but if I knew a thing else was out there for โ additional or so that would do hd no problem I would have got that.

Every thing is incredibly accessible, well placed The case header pins are a bit cramped. The BIOS flashing isn't quite straighfoward. Whatever you do, when you flash the BIOS, make certain you follow the directions to the letter else the system won't boot. The wireless range sucks, needs an external antenna. Bought two of these, love them. They are running Win7 MCE with the only addition becoming the MKV splitter and it plays everything perfectly. With all of the components installed I am receiving 65W usage. Low heat, really quiet.

Love the board has each and every option a person could want. A lot of energy for my set up anyways, making use of it for a htpc. Running ubuntu 9.04 with xbmc. Works much better than my 3500 athlon 64 it replaced. Runs fairly warm, touched the best of the case immediately after it ran for a day or so and was hot, I've been turning it off at night and when not in use. Need to attach the fan it came with to see if it fixes the difficulty, was hoping to go fanless but alas not everything works as planned. Would advise to everyone wanting a effective htpc.My HTPC:Zotac ION dual core board of course.2 GB Kingston DDR2 80080GB Western Digital Laptop difficult drive.nMedia PC rf wireless keyboard and mouse comboLite on slot load DVD rwIN WIN IW-BQ656 case holding it all togetherThe complete system is connected to a 3TB freenas server and is amazing for watching movies/tv

Not silent, but really very. Plays ripped HD content in 1080i with out problem. Wireless Extremely slow when working with Mythbuntu 10.04. Not a massive deal for me, since I prefer and suggest a wire connection anyway. I'm using this MB for a Mythbuntu (x86 version) front-end. All my content (ripped Blu-rays, ripped DVDs, Pictures and Music resides 1 a external back-end server. All content steams perfectly to my 60" LCD Tv. I also installed Boxee for world wide web content. Besides the wireless, I have not located any problems.

~Intel Atom Dual Core *much far better than single core*~Nvida ION chipset with some pretty sweet graphics for such a little Mobo~PCI express slot for expansion of a Raid cardӮ Wireless N antenna connectors built into card, 1 already installed and one more which just requirements an further cable, with room in back for external antenna mount. It's a tight fit for all of the attributes on the Mobo. You require to punch out the metal on the back plate just before installing this Mobo. I feel this is due to the fact Zotac decided to ship a generic back plate for all of it's motherboard to save on cost. Installed the mobo in a Rosewill RC-CIX-01. I had to eliminate the energy supply before installing the mobo due to lack of space. I like that they include a molex to sata power converter for those who want to install three Sata devices in there case, I just don't have any extra room due to the mini-itx case I chose to go with.

Good Board. Super smaller. Fits in all the mini-itx circumstances that look wonderful as HTPC's. Built my HTPC with this and added 4GB ram, blueray player, 1GB HD, and a media card reader. Also installed a dual tuner hauppauge 2250 in the PCI-E slot. This factor rocks. Runs Windows 7 x64 with no difficulties. Plays back HD clearQAM Television to my 42 inch LCD flawlessly. Also play blueray no difficulty with the right settings. Now please recognize, this pc is not as super energy quick as some may well want, but I wanted and an ultra low energy quiet and smaller HTPC for my living room. This factor has got it all. Wireless appears to be incredibly stable with my D-link G router too. Burns about 55W-60W fully loaded playing blueray in 1080P on my LCD Television. Now for the bad news. As most atom processors do, this board struggles with Hulu and flash pages in common. Hulu desktop is not so smooth. I have installed the newest nvidia driver, and also the adobe flash 10.1 beta that is supposed to offload some of the flash processing to the GPU. It helps, but nonetheless lags on full screen to my 42 inch LCD. ABC.com and NBC.com appear to stream fairly a great deal flawlessly, its just those Hulu flash videos that lag. Also, if you use Net Explorer instead of Mozilla, Hulu seems to function pretty much flawlessly. I hope that by the final adobe flash 10.1 release, this is all solved. I have my fingers crossed. Minus one egg for the Hulu issue. Minus the Hulu dilemma this factor guidelines. You can pretty significantly create a super little, low power, HTPC for around 踰 bucks. I'm really pleased with this motherboard.

The layout of this board is fantastic, and it plays 1080p full-bandwidth videos at 39 degrees C without having a hiccup (stock fan, ambient temperature 64 degrees F, vented case on, no case fans). I had no difficulties installing anything, finding drivers, and so on. Dual boots to both Windows 7 and Linux (Mythbuntu 9.10) no issues. Video playback test was in Linux, utilizing the VDPAU extension. The mini-ITX formfactor is refreshingly little, if you're replacing micro-ATX you will uncover you now have oceans of space to play in. The energy plug is a 20-pin ATX plug, not 24-pin, and there are jumpers on one side of it, and a capacitor on the other. For this reason a 24-pin plug from a power supply WILL NOT FIT! (normally you can plug a 24-pin male plug into a 20-pin female socket, you just leave 4 of the male plugs hanging over the edge). Make certain your power supply has a 20-pin (or 20-pin + detachable four-pin) kind connector, not a full 24-pin connector, or else you will have to have an adapter. Also, there is no firewire on the board. If you want to use this as an HTPC motherboard you will not be able to get video from a set-best cable box via firewire AND get video from a PCIe tv-tuner card... unless you can come across a Tv tuner card with an onboard firewire port (and i don't feel they make those, do they?) Only 2 memory slots may well not be sufficient for some men and women, nevertheless I do not think about this a "con" for such a tiny board, clearly intended for HTPC's. Given that when does an HTPC want additional than 4GB of memory?

I bought this Zotac IONITX-F-E along with an Antec ISK 100 case to use as an HTPC/ MythTV front-finish. It works wonderful! Even with the significant heat-sink, you may still want a fan:I tried running with out the case fan at very first, but the temps shoot up over 60C (according to the sensors) when I peg the processors. The case fan running on low keeps them below 30C and is quiet sufficient I guess.SATA connectors are somewhat fragile:Getting this motherboard into the case was a bit of function, but it does fit and the 80w power supply has no issues powering it and a 32G SDD. I did manage to break a SATA connector when I was bending the SATA cable to fit in the case. I wasn't exactly being rough with it, so maybe these connectors are a bit fragile. I am running Mythbuntu 10.04 and all the media I've tried to play back works fine (even without having the VDPAU) but then my Tv is only 720p and I'm only playing back recorded over-the-air HD, and DVD content. Also, for me, finding sound to work via hdmi was a bit tricky. I had to make a custom .asoundrc file creating hdmi the default device: "pcm.!default hdmi:NVidia"
