Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:Once wires are separated, they are separate forever.
Pros:Very easy to use, easy to mount! Comment:
I like being able to adjust my fan speeds, allows me to silence my computer and then increase them if im overclocking. They are easy to mount with its compact design and included adhesive. I like that they come precoiled which makes hiding the long wires easier as I only need to uncoil/separate as much as i need. I just wish there was some way to reattach the separate wires! |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:tape,
Pros:size, price, ease of use Comment:
This is really easy to use and install. The only thing i didn't like about it was the tape felt kind of flimsy. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:none.
Pros:It undervolts!! Comment:
What can I say that hasn't been said already. It's cheap on sale. It undervolts fans so they don't run at 12v to quiet them down as long as you don't need them to cool at top speed. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:Could be a little smaller.
Pros:Works exactly as advertised.Long cables. Comment:
I love these things. Recently I have taken a liking to using these instead of elaborate multi-port fan controllers. Using the supplied tape, they can be stuck many places inside a computer, and they are very effective at controlling fan speed and minimizing noise.I find that customers are very pleased with quiet computers, and that a few dollars can go a long way quieting a computer since most case fans (and even CPU fans) spin a lot faster than they need to. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:3 pin fan only
Pros:CheapWorks very well Comment:
This is a great item to reduce any fan speed. For the price in special it doesn't get any better! However it's only compatible with 3-pin fans. What's good as well is you keep RPM monitoring. Also cables are long enough to reach pretty much anyplace (including outside the case). |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:Unable to connect 4-pin
Pros:Control speedPriceLong cable Comment:
I can't use it to connect my 4-pin fan.Use it for my freezer 4 CPU heatsink fan. Coz is still quite noise a normal.I adjust it to almost lowest, no more noise.A little warm on the controller, hope it won't fail and can last for years. If it really can last long, it it a good buy, use it to control case or cpu fan, still cheaper than get a quiet fan. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:-only for one fan-a tad big
Pros:-inexpensive-does the job-long wires Comment:
I got this on sale for 3$ and it's a bargain at that price. The wires are long enough such the fan controller can be attached anywhere. It also come with adhesive so you can stick the controller on the side/top of your case. My only complaint is that it is a tad big. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:-Break easily
Pros:-Easy to install-Small and convenient-Cheap Comment:
There is not much to say about this fan controller except that it does a little job but it does it well. Do not fix it on your case using a screw. It breaks easily. Use the provided sticking tape instead. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-28-07 01:04 PM |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:must use 3 pin fan
Pros:Does everything you'd expectdouble sided tape is nicevery long wires Comment:
This does a great job quietening down those loud case fans. Comes with tape on the back to stick it out of the way in your case and some extra long wires to run it wherever it needs to go. I wish it was built to run on fans that only have molex connectors as well, however. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:Maximum output voltage is 10.5 Volts
Pros:Handy device when you need to control only one fan.Extra long wires. Comment:
Got one of these to control a front intake fan to cool my hard drives. Does the trick. It comes with extra long wires. The maximum output voltage is about 10.5 which means you're getting about 90% of your fan maximum RPM. Recommended. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:None
Pros:Easy to installAllows for on-the-fly fan control Comment:
I hooked this up to my CPU fan and mounted the control pod on the back of the case. Now I can run the fan at the lowest setting (a totally silent 5V) most of the time, and crank it up to maximum if I'm going to be doing something CPU-intensive for an extended period (eg. encoding video). For reference, I use this in conjunction with an Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 heat sink and fan mounted on my AMD X2 3800+ processor. At the lowest speed, the cpu temperature does not go above 30 degC unless it is under a heavy load. At the highest speed the temperature is stable at about 45 degC under a CPUburn X2 torture test. And just a wording of warning: if you're going to try this, be sure and monitor your cpu temperature. Many CPUs would burn up at such a low fan speed. |

Zalman Fan Mate 2 3-PIN Fan Speed Controller 5-11V
Cons:For SFF systems, cable can be a little too longWould be even better as a PCI slot plate
Pros:Works WellReasonable PriceCompact Comment:
This is a great product to fine-tune chipset fans/speeds for idle and high loads. And the 5V lower limit prevents you from turning off your important fans on chips.I found the cables a little long. I had to spiral them around other cables to reduce the length and keep my wires organized. The double sided tape was a nice option, but I would have preferred to have a screw mount of either side of the controller. I wanted to mount it to the back of my case with a screw, where the mount was located, made it inconvenient to mount it the way I wanted. |
a handy thing to have, since every fan in the antec900 has a controller i put it on my heatsink fan, i usualy always leave it at high but its nice to know i can change it at will lol
