Cons: -front panel behind the door is just plastic and feels entirely out of place with the quality feel of this case. but at least it's hidden most of the time.-side panels are removed with push buttons. I would rather have thumbscrews, which are a lot more secure but still convenient.

Pros: -very high quality feel.-as far as black boxes go, it's beautiful.-front door is dual hinged (and the hinges are metal).-screwless drive bays.-lots of rubber coated cable routing holes.-ventilation slats on expansion card fillers are small enough to keep dimes out (in case your child thinks your computer is a slot machine)
Comment:
This case looks great. Very low on cheesy bling, high on bold simplicity. Most of the case is matte black. The front door is made of brushed metal with a cut out for the IO panel. I've always liked the clean look of doors but I've avoided them since I had one many years ago that broke off it's plastic hinges. This thing has metal hinges so I'm hoping not to be disappointed again. The production quality itself it superb. Everything inside and out is perfectly aligned and fits properly. All the edges are curved are safe. There's rubber coating on drive bays and foam around the PS hole. The routing holes and rear side panel make cable management simple and make the case look great (and keep airflow unobstructed) after it's outfitted. Hard drives are aligned sideways so their cables can be hidden away behind the back panel as well. This thing was a very pleasant surprise. I've generally bought decent cases in the past (~80-100) but this case is by far better than anything I've had before. Corsair put a lot of effort into this thing and it shows.

Cons: - Tighter cable management compared to what I'm used to.- No fan controller.

Pros: - Slick and yet simple design.- Foam padding to reduce interior noise.- Options for top/side-mounted cooling solutions.- All black (interior).- Made by Corsair.

I bought this case to build myself a second gaming tower. I went from a Corsair 650D to this, so in a way I "downsized" but overall I'm very satisfied with this case. One thing that surprised me right away: The interior USB 3.0 cables (for the front ports) are actually joined together into a proper motherboard header! Yay! This was a nice little discovery because then I knew right away I wouldn't need an adapter. All of my parts fit perfectly fine. There's plenty of room inside and cable managing wise it's great, though it gets a little tighter in the back compared to the 650D - I guess that's because of how the 550D has the motherboard 'wall' pushed back a little bit, leaving less room on the other side for cables. However, it's nice that Corsair included 3M adhesive mounted cable clips. Those help a lot.The one thing I would've liked is a fan controller. I know I could just buy a separate unit to connect my fans to but for now I'm alright with plugging them all into the motherboard. It just would've been nicer with a built-in one.

Cons: none.

Pros: Quiet but has the option for lots of cooling and has well appointed interior.

I don't really have anything to compare it to but I can say this case met all my expectations for noise levels, design and build quality.

Cons: Hard to get it quiet and cool.

Pros: Clean Design, attractive interior, enough room for a decent sized system.
Comment:
Upgraded from a coolermaster HAF922. While it was nice to have all the sound foam, and closed walls, it was very difficult to get the rig cool while maintaining low volume. I could get it pretty quiet, but it would become a toaster inside. Ended up returning it after a week.

Cons: Ventilateur d'origine pas aussi silencieux que les noctua

Pros: Boitier professionnelBonne Isolation10 ventilateurs !!!
Comment:

Cons: Arrived Damage

Pros: Great Cable Management, Very quiet, 2-way Front Door
Comment:
Bought this for my new build, which also included a Corsair H100. With other motherboards, the H100 should fit with the rad and fans on the inside, however the motherboard I have has something obstructing a second fan.The case arrived damaged, the side panel cover will not stay on due to the connections being broken. I have filed a ticket with Corsair, but still have received no response for it, which I'm very disappointed by.Other than the that, this case is great. The cable management is amazing, paired with a modular power supply, there may be 1 cable running across the motherboard, everything is hidden behind the case. The 2-way front panel is a nice addition. It opens either to the right, or to the left. I've seen others complain that it was hard to open and close, while I do understand their concerns, I don't find it as big of a deal. I like that its a little tough.Having my i5 overclocked at 4.7Ghz, and video card overclocked, the system is still very very quiet, with nice/quiet cooling. I expected when I built this machine to not be able to leave it running while sleeping in the same room, but thus far, it has not been an issue.I would definitely recommend this case to anyone, I am truely happy with my purpose. Now if only Corsair will get back to me to replace the side panel...

Cons: Paint (particularly on the top) is textured and scuffs easily.

Pros: Solid, versatile, extremely quiet (with fans at lower speed), great airflow options, accommodates large heatsinks, excellent cable management.
Comment:
It was really a joy to do a system build with this case. I've never had a system look so neat and tidy.I was a bit concerned about the usefulness of the front intake fans given they're blocked by a foam insulated door. Since I knew the door was removable (and can be opened from both directions, which is nice) I decided to take the chance on this purchase. I was surprised that even with the door in place, there's enough ventilation from the side edges behind the door to make those fans effective. The fans at their stock speed are a bit loud for my liking. I dialed them down (many motherboards provide this functionality) so that the front intake fans ran at 900 RPM and the rear exhaust fan ran at 1100 RPM. My CPU fan (Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo) spins at 1300 RPM. Idle, the CPU temperature is a modest 32C and GPU (MSI Twinfrozr GTX 680 4GB) is 33C.The system is basically inaudible at my seating position about 2 feet away. Up close, the fans have a very neutral sounds -- no tonal quality or buzzing, just the sound of air flowing.I would definitely (and already have) recommend this case to people interested in finding a good balance between silence and airflow. My previous case (Antec Solo) was a marvel of silent PC construction but did so at the expensive of temperature. In my opinion, the 550D excels in both areas.

Cons: The motherboard recess in the back makes cabling harder. in the 500R, it isnt a problem as the side panel bulges out.

Pros: QuietGood Build Quality Ok air flow
Comment:
Decent build quality. i would recommend to anyone that needs a silence optimized case. the only complaint is the area behind the motherboard is recessed so you cant really put too many cables behind it.

Cons: - No eSATA- Stock fans could be better

Pros: - Quiet- Great build quality- Plenty of room- Black interior- Great cable management- Decent airflow- Rear of motherboard access- Nice and clean look
Comment:
Awesome case from Corsair. The sound dampening really makes a difference, and there's plenty of room for any setup. The cable management is fantastic, lots of options for routing cables. The dust filter are really handy as well. Overall, the feel and look of this case makes it an awesome buy, and the sound dampening really pushes it up a notch in my book. Far better quality than any Thermaltake case I've bought in the past. Definitely recommended.

Cons: Scratched, Defective, Poor Support

Pros: Quiet, Simple, Good Layout
Comment:
Extremely disappointed with this case. It would have been great, except my case was scratched and one of the fans defective. Corsair puts a slip of paper inside each box that says "DO NOT RETURN" - don't trust them! I would have returned this on day one if I knew Corsair would leave me waiting for almost two months for a replacement case fan. I own many Corsair products, but this was my first experience with their terrible support.

Cons: Door is a little stiff to open and side finish marks easily.

Pros: Looks fantastic, great design and functionality
Comment:
Beatiful case, unique look. Very well laid out interior and easy installation of all components. Power supplies with extra cables can be tough to manage. The door opening left and right is neat but opening must be done carefully to avoid it swinging open or coming off both sides at the top. I found using two hands (top and bottom) allowed opening it in a controlled way. Having a small baby around makes the exposed power and reset buttons a target for little fingers. I found the side panels marked easily.I love this case and bought it instead of the 800D.

Cons: - Older generation corsair fans

Pros: - Sound dampened panels and front- Flexible configurations for sound or performance- Magnetic dust filters- 3 fans included- Front door swings open left or right- Power switch at the top of the case
Comment:
The 550D is the ideal computer case for my needs with little to no drawbacks. The magnetic fan filters allow me to easily remove and clean. The removable sound dampened panels gives me the option to quiet down my machine or give it more air flow. The flexible front door can swing left or right which is a big deal for me because I have it sitting on the floor to my right. It bothers me that doors usually swing left and block my access.

Cons: Would prefer more aluminium...

Pros: Well built. Decent options. Good looks. Quiet. A very nice case from Corsair.
Comment:
Just built a new PC with this case and I'm very happy. I like the front door -nice quality aluminium and the placement of the power, reset and usb is perfect. It's super quiet, while maintaining low temps. I also like it's simple look. It doesn't look like a Jeep or a fighter jet, it looks like a nice high end computer case.I've got a ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe with an i5 3570K with it's stock cooler, and a Radeon 7850. There were no fit issues. I like the drive tray - lots of room for drives or you can remove half for better airflow from the cases two front fans. The drive mounting brackets allowed 3.5" and 2.5" drives with no issue which was good. All in all, great case.

Cons: * First 550D I bought had a loose side panel, had to exchange it, no biggie, NCIX hooked me up.

Pros: * High build quality* Great sleek understated looks* Quiet with stock fans, better dampening than my old P180B due to the vent blockers
Comment:
Great case, easy to build in, looks good, flexible design for quiet operation vs. high airflow. Exactly what I wanted.

Cons: back of the case not thick enough for cabling, comes with only 3 Fans

Pros: Absolutely Silent, nicely build, included Fans are quiet
Comment:
If your power supply is not modular, you might have problem hiding the cables. I end up removing 2 drive bad and hide the extra cable at the bottom. The 1200rpm fans come with the case is pretty good even comparing to my Noctua S12. Too bad only comes with 3, 2 front, 1 back.

good job corsair on this case, in terms of design and functionality. but it would be great if they made a optional window side panel for those who want to show off the interior of their case.-i wouldnt mind paying extra for this expansion feature.

Cons: Too much plastic. Door is hard to open and close. You cannot have anything sitting on top of the box while opening/closing the door or it will fall off.

Pros: Fairly quiet. Nice design. Very tight fit for the Asus X79 Sabertooth MB and H100 CPU cooler.
Comment:
DO NOT BELIEVE THE CORSAIR REBATE CARD! I FOLLOWED THE RULES EXACTLY AND THEY STILL REFUSED TO HONOR THE REBATE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE REFUSED A REBATE IN THE LAST MONTH. THEIR PRODUCTS ARE OK, BUT THE REBATE REALLY DOESN'T EXIST.
