None Documentation was horrible and had a challenging time figuring out which of the 2 USB cables to plug in initially (I had several responses about which was the "thick" cable). Regardless, it didn't work no matter which cable I plugged in 1st. Don't try to save a handful of bucks on this drive. Devote an added โ to get something that is reputable.

This issue is tiny, shops really a bit for its size, and has a wonderful price tag! Being powered from just USB two. is good. Works perfectly on Vista and Ubuntu so far. Slow read/write speed, but what do you expect from a laptop HDD? I wish it had a power switch: to turn it off you have to unplug it. There are, of course, much bigger and more rapidly drives out there, but the value earns this a 5!

Somewhat rapid transfer speeds (Formated to NTFS).Smaller size tends to make it uncomplicated to carry around.Top quality item for the smaller cost. Gets a tiny warm. (But does not seem to hurt efficiency). 80GB was the great amount of storage for what I needed. Had to convert the format to NTFS, took a tiny further time, but quite much worth it.

This is a really fantastic drive and comes currently formatted in FAT32 so you can plug right into the ps3. It is actually tiny and quiet. Not any but and hopefully by no means.

Incredibly good, quiet and does its job extremely nicely. No added power required. Its a gem at the price!! Keep it on full load for a although, it gets rather warm. Doesn't seem to be a concern although. Nice! Newegg once once more, are the finest. I will never go elsewhere once again for a Pc component, Newegg is the wave of the future! I just wish other shops took some notes, as Newegg is one particular of its kind! I am a incredibly pleased newegger!

Fantastic cost, nice and compact, all the storage I want. Every time I try to stop the drive to unplug it, it tells me it can't be stopped, then when I try to quit it the second time it lets me - it does this Each and every time. Also, it is extremely finicky about which USB cord I use and how I plug it in. If it doesn't like the USB cord, it will flash the LED orange, pause with the LED green, and repeat indefinitely. From time to time it functions appropriate away, occasionally I have to fight it for a few minutes.

It is compact and simple to store. It powers from the USB cable. It was affordable. None So far. Individuals talk about forgoing this and receiving a "better" Western Digital. Out of all the hard drives I have had, I have had four WD's to go out on me.

Very good storage capacity, worked properly at the start off, good cost Within a little more than a month, drive failed entirely (computer nonetheless reads something there, but now instead reads it as a 10 GB drive it can't access.)Given this just fell outside of the returns policy, and my warranty went MIA (thanks USPS) would not advocate. May possibly just be portion of the production line, take into account this merely a warning, these can and do fail.

Comment:
Low cost and decent capacity for the cost. Quiet, doesn't need power source (but see other thoughts), appears to perform fairly nicely overall. The original drive I received from newegg only lasted about a week and then died. I had to do initial RMA ever for newegg on this product, but was able to obtain a replacement drive. Replacement drive has been operating fine for several months, but QA doesn't seem up to par If I did acquire an additional one of these, I would stress test it a bit to make certain you didn't get a poor drive, attempt doing a couple of formats, defrag, scandisk tests to make certain all sectors on the drive seem excellent and that it performs well before RMA window/warranty runs out. Also, although it doesn't demand a power source, it can be a pain to energy in some cases. You may will need to use two USB slots to get sufficient energy for the thing, and even then it's not guaranteed (especially if you have expansion USB slots, like in the front of your PC, and you will pretty much definiteally will need each usb slots on a laptop). Also, it almost certainly won't have adequate juice if you have a USB hub, or any sort of USB extension cable. If it's not operating usually best bet is to plug in the back USB slots of a desktop computer.

Hope it's dependable and last. None at all! New Egg keeps getting my money, year after year LOL! I have no dilemma with that either. They have great stuff!
