Wonderful functionality from an SSD for boot purposes in relation to it's cost. With windows being on the SSD and all but my two fav games being on regular HDD's, the standard HDD's can be turned off by win7 to save energy. A nice side benefit to the obtain. Cost. As generally, given that SSD's are nevertheless the newer storage medium on the market place, they're nonetheless quite pricey. I do believe there is a lack of facts packaged with the SSD. I know adaptors of new tech normally have high sufficient tech understanding that they can figure small things out, but as these grow to be far more and more popular I expect additional than a single booklet telling you how to plug the cables in. I haven't had any problems because I've carried out the "required" win7 tweaks to minimize read/writes to the SSD. For the first month it seemed my Pc would randomly hang now and then for 3-five seconds. Like no input at all, screen and video and every thing would freeze. Now that I have the AHCI or w/e turned on as properly as TRIM the concerns stopped. Just believed it was odd.Otherwise, 4 months in and no difficulties.

Speeds are great and as advertised, incredibly quickly startup when utilised as a boot drive, got a wonderful deal on it in mixture with a rebate, produced the purchase a no-brainer. Corsair specifies on their site that of the Force series, the F40 is the only version that doesn't come with a two.five to three.five conversion bracket for desktop use. Not a major deal, you can get the bracket low-cost, but just some thing to take into account so you're not surprised when you open the packaging. Debating grabbing one more for RAID if they go on sale once again due to the fact I've heard fantastic things and I've enjoyed the 1st. Definitely worth the buy.

Sandforce Controller, It works Undesirable Reallocated Sector Count, Rated speed unmet Bought it when it first came out considering that it came with a rebate. It seems that my ssd has an problem when I started carrying out some test. I did multiple benchmarks and virtually all software program I utilized show Reallocated Sector Count with a warning highlight/mini caution icon beside it. Typical transfer price is 132Mb/s. I have performed every procedures on setting up an ssd like activate AHCI in bios ahead of os set up, disabled defrag, hybernation, reduced page file, and only have the os on the ssd and other files on my hdd.No far more Corsair ssd and/or other products for me...

The Corsair Force F40 transfer speeds are as advertised with a tiny bit of Pre-Setup know-how essential to reach those speeds however. ATTO Benchmarks place it at about 280mb/s sequential read 270mb/s sequential write. Well worth the money! Went on sale three days after I bought my initially one. Secure eraseing the drive increases drive performance from the out of box read/write speeds. Will grab a second a single for raid now that they are on sale!

Boots windows 7 64 bit in 33 seconds. Thats cold boot. From nothing at all to desktop.Best size for a basic OS set up and applications, with a handful of gigs to spare. Did not incorporate two.five inch to 3.five inch bracket. I emailed Corsair and they sent me a bracket for free of charge!! A++ service!

I place this as a 3rd drive in my primary gaming Computer, with a Raptor 150GB drive for the OS and a WD Caviar Black 640GB for other stuff. I only put my Planet of Warcraft files on this drive ྸGB!). The objective was to strengthen load times (max settings, 1920x1200, 400+ addons), and load instances did indeed increase significantly. Although WoW character load times enhanced considerably (from 45 seconds to 20-25 seconds in Dalaran), I guess I was hoping for an even higher improvement. This drive is terrible for items like file copying, and it does quite badly in most benchmarks (with 4k alignment, safe erasing, and so forth etc), but it does what I bought it for, so I can't truly complain. I did neglect to send in the rebate in time (within 25 days of purchase), so that sucks becoming out that ฮ. I'd most likely hold off for a few much more generations if I did it yet again. This isn't a terrible drive for about 贄, but I wouldn't say it's worth any additional than that.

quite quickly, certainly! I like to believe the F40 name was offered in relation to the F40 Ferrari for speed :P no mounting kits or screws. the case i used this in didnt have anyway to mount a 2.five" drive so i just lined it up to the side of the 3.5" drive bays for floppy and put two screws in. the drive is so light that the weight no supported on the other side will under no circumstances have a negative impact from hanging no cost.

Worked as described with no matters. Just the size of 40GB. I'm left with about 6.five GB cost-free on my Windows 7 installation. If you're concerned about disk space, go with the 64 GB. Win7 overall performance is blazing rapidly in any event.

The drive is as rapidly as advertized. It booted my linux technique in under four seconds. Randomly fails to wake up from sleep, logs say it can't read from the difficult drive. Can't return for a refund to new egg or corsair! This is a recognized concern with corsair F series (take a look at the forums), the concern has been reported with lenovo thinkpads and macbooks. I can confirm it occurs on my thinkpad x100e. So far all corsair has denied it is their fault but says they will "look into it".If you have a laptop don't take the possibility, go get another SSD. Manufacturer Response:We are sorry you are seeing this situation with your Force series drive. We are not denying fault or blame. We totally anticipate this predicament to be resolved rapidly as soon as we acquire a firmware update from SandForce. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Price tag, it was 贉 when i purchased it.Reads and WRITES quicklyCorsiar reliability Did not come with mounting brackets for a 3.five bay Ideal Cost, great organization. RAID- was a breeze with my ASUS board. All Sata are backwards compatible, they will just run at the lower speed. I purchased a board with SATA 3gbs, these drives barely reach that so its perfect. Can't locate the TRIM support, but I only installed games on these so a format won't be an concern.

Purchased 4 of these. I have them in raid . Extreamly rapidly. Fastest i have ever installed Windows on a box. I don't have any tricky numbers from testing, but windows boots rapidly 16 secs. BF2 loaded boards really slow with two raptors. Now I am usually the first in the space. four may be more than kill but I am incredibly pleased with the genuine globe final results. Price is a small high for 40gig

I got this on sale with a mail in rebate and for the price I paid I am extremely happy. The performance of this drive is amazing and there is a noticeable boost in my efficiency in CS5 when using this drive as a scratch disk. I'm positive that my boot times will also lower if I decide to boot off this disk. Corsair's site states that the force series of drives comes with a two.5 to three.5 adapter for use in a typical challenging drive bay. This was a selling point for me simply because I did not want to order a reducer. However this is not the case. For some purpose I received my drive in the corsair packaging but nothing besides the drive itself was included. This is really frustrating and a small difficult to comprehend. This is a 5-egg item even with the lack of the reducer which is supposed to come with it.

This thing is quick, I am receiving about 200MB/s every single way. 7 Ultimate installed in about 10 minutes and boots in about 15 seconds, such as POST. No bracket... Mine is double sided taped to the bay. No frills or tough copy of any manuals or anything. Assists keep prices low I suppose. Low power consumption, excellent speed, good for laptop or desktop and plenty of area for a OS boot drive. No bracket? C'mon...

Super Silly Fast! Low wattage consumption. A small expensive still... This will give your old single core and lower GHz processors new life. Working with two of these in my network at household. 1 is on a sempron thats pretty much 8 years old and another on a new APU Zacate HTPC setup. Stellar. Cold boots HTPC in ㅄ secs. Makes issues snappy.

Rapidly, low cost Don't believe any positive critiques from folks that have owned this item below a month. This complete product line suffers from a defect in either hardware or firmware.Vital is unresponsive.Common scenario is that with a number of ssd's installed, some or all go missing from time to time. This has been ongoing for months - Crucials forums are full of posts about the similar issue across most of their Sandforce drives.I think they went to marketplace too fast with these, trying to beat out the competition. Unfortunately, drives this smaller are usually boot drives or utilised in raid arrays, and neither application can tolerate the disappearing act as might be somewhat acceptable if it were a long term storage drive.I wouldn't care that significantly if my media drive went away each now and then, but half my raid array? No I have not rma'd my drives. That's the only solution Important appears to have these days.Instead, I have more or less relegated them to use where speed is much more essential than reliability. They claim to have new firmware that will be released Genuine Soon Now.What is troubling is that last time I checked, they nonetheless had been not admitting a fault in the item.New firmware won't fix the concern - unless they've been lying all along about the defect. So now I'm in the position of hoping that they are liars.

rapidly boots DO NOT Acquire if you program on making use of in a method that you want to S3 sleep/standby. Your machine will crash on resume. There are a couple of users that have not experienced this issue but if you check the corsair forums, you'll see it's littered with complaints because corsair has left their customers up a creek... Would not suggest buying any item from a manufacturer that doesn't back their errors. I bought a samsung to replace this and "miraculously" it works as expected! Manufacturer Response:Firmware revisions have corrected this concern for a vast majority of our users. Also Lightweight and compact so can use for a laptop as effectively (even lighter weight than laptop HDD too)! only 40GB, which is adequate for boot drive but not for significantly storage Wish I had an array of these as storage disk!

Naturally isn't as superior as the larger sized SSD, but compared to the competition in this size range clearly the very best. Really Pleased overall!
