Really quickly SSD for this price range. I presently have it operating in AHCI, which Windows 7 was stupid sufficient to rate it lower even thought it writes way more rapidly than what it did in IDE mode. Super fast drive. I have 2 in a RAID array. I get .138ms access time and an average read speed of about 700MB/sec.I boot Win7 completely loaded with AV and other software program in 30 seconds ready to go. tight SATA interface. I got fortunate and my cables match. Some may well have to buy a combined cable. I have not had any of the stuttering or freezing other folks have mentioned. It might be brought on by a driver or interface problem with certain boards.

Pros: Does as it says. Its not the fastest writer, but you knew that. If your looking at this drive, your thinking about one particular of the quickest read speeds available and it does just that. Yes there are cheaper SSD solutions with higher write speeds ... but nothing at all quick of a SSD in RAID is going to get you study speeds like this. For pros:Super quickly study speedSmall type elementSignificantly less heat, no moving components, longer life spanWonderful for boot drive....fast application loadsuncomplicated setup with newer chipsets, some have rapidly detecting ACHISATA 3 with SATA3 cable!NoiselessWin Indexing placed it at five.9 upon set up. After a few reboots it reads at 7.9 like other posters have commented.Loads Shogun two levels in five-6 seconds Cons:It has a limited write speed. Comparable to a typical SATA two write speed, about 80ish MB/s - but your not purchasing this to write tons of data. This reads like no other and can boot win 7 really really quickly. Also suffers from that 64gb capacity. Soon after setup, clean install of win 7, benchmark utilities and drivers I was at 30gb used on a regular install.Con: You need to do homework and make tweaks to your technique to optimize a SSD. Con: You have to continually be aware of drive space if you download & install a lot.Con: Cannot defrag...Con: TRIM command only availale in win 7Con: Price per Gig - not dropping quick sufficientCon: Defrag can kill a SSDCon: Unit feels lightweight feels cheap. Weighs much less than a pack of smokes or dollar worth of quarters. Raid a few of these collectively and you *might* have the fastest booting computer in the globe. This device can save a older laptop and makes you want all drives had been SSD. requires much more maintenance than usual, demands manual optimization and tweaks, YMMV. I suppose all SSD drives are a bit diverse, but it's not a "fire and forget" resolution. Its at present considered a high efficiency device and calls for maintenance as such. Really delighted with speed. As other folks commented, you have to have the correct "mindset" for this drive and comprehend its limitations. Right after Win 7 install, drivers & utilities have 30ish gigs left. Most contemporary computer games weigh in at eight to 12 gigs each and every on average so I have area for 2 pc games. Which is fine given that I'm supposed to be functioning anyways. Computer: 2500k cpu, Asus p8p67 Pro, 8gb Ripjaws 1600 DDR3, Critical C300 64 gb SSD, Msi GTX 560 Ti. Produced to load levels in 3-four seconds. Can rip open photoshop in three secs flat. Now the perform files want to be housed someplace else...

I want they would generate a good Raid card for 6Gbs drives on Pcie x1 or x4 that performs with any motherboard with no problems with current chipset and have the Trim assistance on it with no Window 7.

I truly like the responsiveness of my technique with these drives. I have utilized both a single SSD and two SSD's in RAID0. Trying to figure out the reset problem. Windows 7 users, I was getting resets when using the Crucial SSD as my boot disk. Beneath "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Choices\Edit Plan Settings" there is an item for "Hard Disks", I discovered that if I set "Turn off really hard disk following" to "Never", the resets didn't happen anymore. If I transform it to some number of minutes they come back. I am utilizing a Gigabyte P55A-UD4P motherboard.

Speed machine. This sucker ranges from 2x to 70x quicker than the ole disk drives. WEI went from five.9 to 7.two. And that's on a SATA 3Gb/s mobo. In CrystalMark I got up to 170 meg's per second. Trim help on a single drive but not on a raid array. none. ordered a bytecc mounting kit, since this thing comes with no indicates of mounting in your average 3.five" drive bays.

Spoke with rep from important, says that's widespread challenge but no fix. Was right after my 30 days by means of newegg that I ultimately even got it operating. Wish I would have sent it back or superior but, under no circumstances bought it. Was using it for recording/edit of sound and video. Cannot stand the noises it makes through speakers. Still waiting for critical to do something other then send me Refurbished drives.

This is the 2nd C300 I have ordered in the previous five months. The initially C300 I would have provided 4 stars as the speed wasn't what was advertised (for SATA two), but it was nevertheless quicker than my Intel v40. This time around, I am acquiring reads of 350-375 MB/s & writes of 70-77 MB/s! Wish it would have incorporated an adapter for mounting in a three.five" slot, but I knew that going in. Also, the packaging hasn't as good as the 1st drive. For my most recent create w/ a Intel 2500k, I had bought a Vertex 2 but it died within three days of installation. So I RMA'd it and picked up this drive. I am loving it.

Low-cost, somewhat rapid. Really SLOW Write SPEED FOR SSD.The drive failed in beneath 45 days of use. It began stuttering in Windows 7 and games. Following a week of occasional stuttering the drive began SQUEAKING! Actually squeaking, I thought a mouse had infested my laptop. I took the drive out and hooked it up via my external challenging drive cable and sure sufficient the drive was squeaking when below load. I had never ever heard of an SSD making funky noises like that, but this one did. I personal a pc shop and sell tons of SSD's. I saw this 1 on sale for super inexpensive, and bought it for my personal personal laptop. After this I will never ever buy Essential once more. Out of 100+ SSD drives that I have purchased, applied, and sold this is the only one particular that has ever had a challenge. I have utilised Intel, OCZ, G.ability and a few other off brands as properly and this was the slowest out of all of them.

My initially SSD, so it won't take much to impress me. I've installed Suse after and Ubuntu twice onto the SSD. I have the machine on 24x7. No failures, I didn't count on any. I have the factor on a SATA6, set up time was quick, boot time is no slouch either. Even on sale, these are pricey. These are rapidly, but they need to come down in price tag. I like the tiny drives for the OS, and i got all 64G on a single partition.

Really quick with windows 7, worked excellent with Ubuntu linux. The 2.5 to three.five adapter necessary to install this was back ordered and would not arrive till soon after my "big Pc assembly weekend" and so rather than wait for it to come in or temp set up my os on my 500 gig information drive, i installed it by taping it to the removable drive cage for my case! Performs good to this day! Want it would come down in value so i can get a second 1 for RAID. Windows 64 bit, Starcraft two and a handful of other games plus the suggested 10% unformatted space and this guy is down to 10 gigs absolutely free. But, on the vibrant side two in RAID must scream. So glad i spranf for this. Cold boot to windows in six seconds(after bios).

They worked as anticipated. Purchased two. Want they were bigger and cheaper I installed two of them on my Gigabyte motherboard with an E8400 CPU in RAID config employing onboard raid. Then installed Windows 7. I was capable to boot to the desktop in 6-eight seconds. Windows Practical experience gave me a 7.9.When I attempted just one particular drive as a D: drive and from XP ran HDTACH I got precisely 240mb/s. Eventhough they're rated at 285mb/s, I was nevertheless pretty satisfied. HDTach does not run beneath WIN7, but I tried CrystalDISK and got around 460mb/s for the RAID pair. Why get a REVODISK when this can do the very same for 赨.

These are little, quickly, very, and no heat! Have them in raid zero and running blazing rapid. 519MB/s on read, 105mb/s on write! (via AS SSD) May possibly be greater numbers suitable at set up they loose a small performance. you will want to get an adapter for these to match in a normal case. Plus side is that 2 match in a spot for a single HDD! Make certain your board does'nt have an emulated 6gbs for raid zero. Slow create but not a biggie for me, with raid the create doubled. Two of these are less expensive than some 120gb ssd's.

The drive is installed like any other SATA drive and is really quick. Other individuals have questioned whether it was major enough for Win7 and WoW. It's more than big adequate, but you truly need to have to move Customers and Program Files to an additional drive. The only con is that I couldn't justify the cost of its bigger/faster massive brother. Just make sure your case can deal with the type aspect or else you'll need to have an adapter.

Suitable out of the box my clumsy buddy drops this issue on the ground, furious bring about hes an idiot for obvious motives. My jaw drops and i warn him about static shock, he then throws it onto a pillow on the couch and i crapped my pants. Pondering no way will this perform i plugged it in and wala! Now thinking wow, this factor is tough i plug it in and boot instances are ridiculously rapid. I imply a small more than ten seconds. These items are so high priced and 64gb is absolutely nothing. You cant place five word documents on this factor devoid of feeling worried about your next download. Oh...how massive is that file 32mb.....ehhhh i greater not. But for having your operating system on, is a total various story, i would propose below 32GB just for your operating technique. Save yourself the added 50-100 dollars. Since unless you want to invest 躔 buckaroos, your going to have to acquire SATA anyway. Only other point i can think of is that in alot of situations there is no drive bay for SSD like in my brand spankin new nzxt evo case. It would have been good to recieve anything with this SSD that would safe it in there along with the case, so i wont be worried about it the next time im in there messing about with stuff.

Compared to a mechanical difficult drive, this thing is awesome. The OS boots incredibly rapid. Even some of my heaviest applications boot very swiftly. (Eclipse, Photoshop, Premiere). I can no longer hit the ON button and do a lot of something just before the method is completely prepared. I enjoy it. Make sure you get the right mounting brackets based on your chassis. This didn't even cross my thoughts till I had almost everything laid out in front of me, and realized I required some extra drive mounting brackets.
