Cons: Limited to 100mbps and very sensitive to power strips

Pros: Inexpensive, fast enough for most people's internet access
Comment:
This is partly my fault for not paying attention, but this thing does not actually do 500mbps, not even close. The reason is that the ethernet port is only 100mbps, so that's the fastest you can ever achieve with this particular kit.On the positive side, they are compatible with the faster DHP-501AV, so you could use the faster adapters on important devices (ex. your primary PC, Time Capsule etc), and these cheaper ones on slower things like an Xbox/PS3 or VoIP phone. They are very sensitive to your house wiring. Plug these right into the wall outlet, do not put them on power bars as that will severely hurt the signal and knock your speed down to 15mbps or less. You do NOT need to have them all on the same circuit, but they must be on the same phase. That's usually not a problem since most households have all their 120v outlets wired on the same phase, but in some office environments or larger houses it could be an issue.Overall this is a good adapter, but if you want more than 100mbps get the other model. I did not notice the difference until now and I most definitely want the faster ones.

Cons: Main restriction use, wether for D-Link or Western Digital kit: DO NOT connect adapter to an extension, neither on a long cord powerbar with surge protector.Connecting adapters away from the outlet will result in very low speed transmission, and in my case, was causing many signal loss on my HD receivers. My advice: if necessary, buy a very short 3-plug extension (about 4 inches long cord) without braker, that you can buy in a dollar store. Works well without any significant speed loss.

Pros: Works perfectly, even in combination with Western Digital PowerLine adapter kit.
Comment:
I'm using 2 Bell Fibe HD receivers and one Bell Fibe HD PVR.I've connected my PVR on coax cable and one of the HD receiver to a D-Link PowerLine adapter, the other one is connected to Bell router for internet and IP TV transmission over power line.Works perfectly, even in combination with Western Digital PowerLine adapter kit. Both kits (D-Link and Western Digital) are synchronized altogether hence sharing the same network access.Main restriction use, wether for D-Link or Western Digital kit: DO NOT connect adapter to an extension, neither on a long cord powerbar with surge protector.Connecting adapters away from the outlet will result in very low speed transmission, and in my case, was causing many signal loss on my HD receivers. My advice: if necessary, buy a very short 3-plug extension (about 4 inches long cord) without braker, that you can buy in a dollar store. Works well without any significant speed loss.
