Cons: -Captcha on the router login can get annoying after awhile.-Blue LEDs are very bright

Pros: -Fast transfer speeds-Clean Graphic User Interface-Additional Router login security-Advanced Port-forwarding / port triggering-USB Share Port-Schedule internet connections (online for said amount of time, offline for said amount of time or days)-Blue LEDs look cool and can easily go with most gamer gear

I really do love this new router, replaced a 4 year old router, still havn't noticed a huge increase of performance however this is because I will need to purchase a faster wireless USB connector. LAN-lines have increased speed by about 35%.With the USB share port you can share a printer over your network (no need for buying a wifi/network printer now) or you could broad cast  your favorite movies off a external harddrive over your network, really its a win, win.

I purchased this to go along with the D-Link DGS-1008D. They work perfect together. Installation was a breeze and has all the necessary features for my home network use. I especially love the fact that I can now have two different wireless at the same time instead of using flakey mix-mode. Certain devices don't play well with mixed mode b/g/n (iPhone, wii, DS). Great product - especially when it's on sale.

I run a desktop, network printer, two laptops, an ipod, Wii and a DS and DSi from it. I was using a D-link G router before. The difference is unbelievable! The DIR-825 also has a USB port that can be used with an external hard drive for network sharing. I have one hooked up to my desktop now but I will be switching over to the router in the near future. I like the dual bands. I linked one band to my wifes computer and the kids can share the other band with their gaming etc. I cant wait till the warmer weather to see how the range has improved when laptoping around the pool.

Do not buy this router as it does not support new laptops from SONY and HP (probably more). I just had the misfortune of buying a brand new HP Laptop, and this router would not allow it to access the wireless interenet because its mac address did not start with 00. I returned that one thinking the HP laptop was screwed up, and bought a SONY only to find out its mac address didnt start with a 00 either. I then started to research this problem and discovered this has been a huge problem for a long time and DLINK has not done anything about it yet.

Sadly this product even with the latest upgrade has tons of problems. Sure for the most basic connection, no security, no QOS, no firewall etc.... works fine.... Start configuring the unit professionally and you get dropped connections, time outs and poor performance. Even DD-WRT does not Support this router. You have been warned!

I'm not an expert. Here's my experience. Noticeably faster than the previous 802.11g routers I used. I have not had to power cycle this modem once, yet. We have a small house, so range has never been an issue. Of note: I had tons of issues with my ethernet card disconnecting periodically from the wireless network. This problem has apparently been resolved by this router. The suspected reason for this is that the wireless card in my new PC is a dual band card which has some ''issues'' with a single band router. I've read many forums where people were having this problem, most people thinking that it is caused by the Atheros wireless card and it's compatability with Windows 7. I believe that the cause of the problems is the dual band card interfacing with the single band router. I gave all 4's because this is the only 802.11n router I have ever owned, I can't say it is the ''Best,'' but I certainly am very happy with it.

-I wanted something that would give me good wireless without interference.-The best security-Wireless printing-Gigibit LAN for streaming since I also have the Patriot Media Player. This fit all the ticks on my list. I took time to decided between this DIR-825 and the Linksys 610N... I went with the DLink since it had better reviews. The router I received had the latest firmare installed. Which is why I shy-ed away from the 610N becuase I read alot where people had to update  the firmware on it etc.I'm not new to computers but I'm new to wireless networking. I wanted the least hassle as possible setting the router up and I found for myself that was the Dlink. The manual that comes with it is very detailed and came in really handy. The setup wizard is fine and ideal for beginners but having the e-manual/cd which directs you to the website and fine tweak your security is a real plus for those willing explore about the router. The website mentioned in the manual also gives you additional troubleshooting avenues if you run into problems, like the website setting up your wireless and more.

The web interface provides simple wizards, but also lets you get down and dirty with most settings if you want to. And when it works, it works pretty well. The problem is, this router starts acting weird every couple of days. I'll lose the ability to resolve web sites, but connections like Internet Messaging system and Remote Procedure Call - HTTP (email) continue to work. Rebooting the router fixes the issue, but it's a real pain. Also sometimes it streams media to the game console like a champ, and sometimes it just can't provide the bandwidth. Rebooting doesn't help this issue so it must be the external interface, but it'd be nice if the unit were a little more resilient.

Router looks nice feels well made and sturdy. Setup was a breeze, did not use the disk. Just went strait into 192.168.0.1 (leave password blank) and configured it myself. Configuration has all the settings a regular user would want as well as even most advanced users. Menues are responsive and easy to navigate. I have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz running at the same time. Both are very fast and both have independant encryption keys(good for keeping roommates off the 5ghz band I want for HD media streaming). Its streams 1080p media flawlessly, even at 28% signal strength clear across my house with at least 5 walls in between. I am very picky and this router has pleased me.

The router comes with firmware 2.00 which have a bug and does not save the clients assigned address. This is solve once you upgrade to 2.02. But you have to go to their web page, because if you do it from the router, the router will say that it have the latest firmware even if is not true. After the upgrade I have no other issue so far.

I've had my DIR-825 for a month now. I have 3 computers, a PS3, a XBOX 360, 2 phones on a mix of both 802.11G and 802.11N and have not had any issues or connection issues. I have Extreme 50 internet from Comcast and internet speed tests show 69 Mps download and 12 Mps upload (yes, it's correct - apparently according to the Comcast technician, I am very close to the cable distribution switch on my street). I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, the setup could be very complicated and the documentation on the CD does not go into detail on the setup. I've given up setting up QoS and let the system take care of traffic shaping. I range on both 802.11G and 802.11N is good, where I am getting 2 to 3 bars for my farthest computer which is about 30 feet away on another floor in my house. Overall, I am very happy with this router.

Bought this as a replacement for an elderly DLink DI-624. Wired and wireless performance are very good (with 5 computers, an XBox and WII), and the router has been very reliable. Have some issues with the web interface, sometimes the pages don't render properly, but a refresh fixes that. However, the access control and website filtering is unbelievably complicated and much less flexible that the DI-624. I've pretty much given up. If need something to boot the kids off the Web at 11:00 and keep them away from perv websites, look somewhere else. It's just too hard. If you're just looking for good reliable connectivity and security, then this would be a pretty good choice.

This router is awesome, we had out-of-town guests the week I installed this router, there were literally 11 wireless devices running on this router at one time. We had 2 xbox 360's(live), 3 I phones, 2 I touches and 4 computers. It gave flawless activity on a DSL connection. Highly recommend this unit.

I have a new computer not even a month old and just purchased this router about 6 hours ago. OMG the router wouldn't install because I needed to upgrade the firmware. Trying to find out how to do this was taxing to say the least. Once it was upgraded the ip address had to be reconfigured, the password reset, the registration redone. Since I didn't know how to do any of those things I had to call tech support. After 4 calls and over 3 hours I finally got this up and running... so far. If your router doesn't install immediately just call tech support; there are far too many things that need to be changed or done to get the router online. It is working now but time will tell. It is fast and has a super strong signal, the product isn't bad just a difficult set up.

I very carefully followed the instructions and wrote notes during the installation incase something went wrong, it worked fine. I like the security and internet only guest access. All my computers can use any printers, scanners and network drives. Sometimes I wish I had a Print Server, otherwise it is a great product. I had to unistall, reinstall after the OS upgrade.

I had to buy a new router when I got a new computer with Vista 64, and this one was recommended. It was incredibly easy to set up, but when I started having droppped and crashing internet issues, I spent 3 hours on the phone with the cable co and Dlink. The frustrating part was trying to get the MTU from the cable for Dlink and I never could get the router default username and password so I could completely start over. Hopefully the reset will help. I finally had to just quit.

Bought this to replace an ancient netgear wireless router. Works fine after a firmware upgrade. The browser interface had some problems. My original firmware would not save IP addresses in the DHCP address reservations. It was driving me crazy. The browser interface also incorrectly told me I had the latest firmware installed. Called tech support. Explained the problem. Got disconnected from tech support. Called back. Loaded new firmware and all was well. Wireless connection stays up. No drop outs. Allows for guest access to internet. Configured guest access as WEP so my kids can connect their Nintendo DS' to the internet. The DS can only do WEP. This allows the rest of the network to be protected by stronger protection. Guest access does not allow you to see what guests are currently connected which I find weird. Overall a good value.

I had another router and access point when I decided combine both features and upgrade to this router. I can say that this router is great for the price. This router maybe too advance for novice users, but good enough to give you peace of mind in a secure home environment. Features such as no SSID broadcast comes in handy to prevent users from utilizing your Internet.
