Cons: - expensive- must be shut down times to times

Pros: - elegant- easy to use- usb 3.0
Comment:
Good looking device from D-Link. I have successfully connected multiple device types including cell phones, usb keys, keyboards and mouses. There is this random issue that occurs when I unplug my cell phone from the hub. Fortunately, my mouse becomes unresponsiveness can be easily fixed by unplugging the power from the hub.Beside that, good device.

Cons: feels cheap

Pros: Fast (full usb3 speed) but only after firmware update
Comment:
You must upgrade the firmware to the latest version or else it will act like an usb 2.0 hub...It uses the VIA VL810 chipset. You can download the firmware for this chipset here: http://via-labs.com/en/support/downloads.jspIt's pretty easy to upgrade but be careful, the warranty will probably be void if you screw something here...

Cons: Does not run at 3.0 in my experience

Pros: None, unless you want a 2.0 hub
Comment:
Tried in 3 different USB3.0 ports, controlled by different controllers. Consistently found that 3.0 devices plugged into the hub do not show as connected to 3.0 (using the Windows 8 devices app).If you need to find the app go to charm bar, change PC settings and then to devices.Should have known better as previously has a D-Link USB 2.0 hub which caused ongoing compatibility issues. Suggest looking at other options, even if more expensive....

Cons: cost, ports are close so if you have a usb drive it it it will block the adjacent ports

Pros: fast looks good
Comment:
does what it says, seems a bit pricey for what it is but i have an older case with no usb 3 on the top and needed a usb 3 port up on my desk for flash drives, and portable hard drives. though i ran out of usb 2 slots and am now currently running my mouse receiver, printer, ups, and and old "high speed" usb 2 cf card reader. figured with the usb 3 connection it would keep everything running closer to the usb 2 numbers then a pure usb 2 hub. so far so good. also worth noting this does not use a standard usb cable it had a funny end, the same as my usb 3 cf reader, not sure why but i have not seen these cables for sale separately so if you are in need of a long cable, be warned. the included one is good for 90% of people id say though a good 5'. 4 stars lost one for the spacing/price there no other one if you looking for a usb 3 hub that looks good on a desk.

Cons: It wont power more than 1 2.5 inch hard drive, and only if the power adapter is unplugged and nothing else is attached.

Pros: Small, attractive design.
Comment:
This device is essentially nothing more than an extension of the USB3.0 port. I wanted this so that I could use two WD Passport drives while connect to USB3.0. Unfortunately, neither drive will work if the power adapter is plugged in (either one or two drives connected at a time). I can run one drive, with nothing else attached, if I don't use the adapter. I called D-Link and was told that I was exceeding the power specification of the hub and there was nothing they could do. This doesn't make any sense as the hub is supposed to provide up to 900mA per port with the adapter, generally ports are 500mA. Somehow using two drive that should consume no more than 1000mA combined, overwhelms a hub that is supposed to provide up to 3600mA.With most USB3.0 devices being hard drives or flash drives, there's really no need for a hub that can't run more than one drive at a time.

Cons: bulky adaptor, no light signal for port.

Pros: stylish, good build quality, does her job as usb3 hub.
Comment:
not many choice for usb3 hub. I did not buy Antec one coz of plain look. This one looks good. Compact size. Only power light, no signal light for port. AC adaptor is one body with pin. It means the bulky head will take up 3 space.in general a good device. It does what suppose to do. Test on 2.5' usb3 external drive, 52-55mb/s speed.
