Near 5870 efficiency for significantly less dollars.Top quality ASUS build.I figured I'd attempt to bring it to its knees -- Loaded Rift and set all advanced graphics sliders to maximum. Game ran smooth at about 30-50 fps. With a lot more reasonable settings (Rift lets you allow some stuff no one particular should really will need), the game runs steady at 60fps with VSync enabled. none Ordered this all from Newegg, couldn't be much more pleased:Asus P8P67 MotherboardIntel Core i5-2500k CPUAsus EAH5850 Radeon HD 5850 Video Cardeight GB Patriot G Series DDR3 1600 RAMEssential C300 128Gb SSDCorsair CMPSU-650TX 650W Energy SupplyInWin Ironclad full tower case

Incredibly cool and quiet cards in comparison to most of the high end graphics cards accessible out there - the fans seldom leave idle mode even operating games like crysis two with max settings and 8x multisample turned on, which is unheard of. I have two of these cards in crossfire on a crosshair iv extreme board, and amongst these cards, the 8gbs of ddr3 at 1600mhz, and a 6 core phenom 1090t, there is no query that any game out there will be dominated. Just before I was operating two 5770's on the exact same board, and crysis at 4x multisample was pushing it, as it would lag from time to time although loading new areas, and now 8x multisample is 'cruising altitude.' Receiving 60 fps isnt even a query, and thats with a single 27" monitor playing a blu ray movie (like avatar) at 1920x1080 while running crysis on a 28" monitor with 1920x1200 resolution. These babies suck power like no tomorrow... my board wouldnt even turn on with them in devoid of giving them TWO committed power lines from the energy provide (good point I went with a 1,000 watt supply), a single eight pin, and one particular six pin power cable for each cards. Just before i gave every card two energy lines, my board just beeped anytime i tried to turn it on, with the VGA flashing red (i.e. board reading a graphics card error). IMO that's a hell of a lot of power for any card to suck, but due to the fact of the performance I'm finding out of them, I'm not going to dock a star for that... just be warned that you will require a fantastic power provide just to run 1 of these, and if you want crossfire with two, you are going to require at least an 850w (more based on what else you have below the hood). For anybody seeking to do some tough core 3d animation, these cards are not a poor decision as long as you have a board with a northbridge that can maintain up with them. Uisng houdini these puppies have been putting out pixar quality films in realtime, without having parrallel processing on, which is one thing I have never been capable to do in the past, so I would surely advocate them for anybody who does higher finish 3d animation.

Got one of these final year (for more than a bill higher price), been screaming along with games given that. Just picked up a 2nd for CrossfireX and to push my Eyefinity 3x1 on 23" 1920x1080 monitors. All I can truly handle to place collectively for this setup is... wow. Whilst Eyefinity is a young technology and isn't with no its troubles, when you get that new game set up and running at 5760x1080 with 4 feet of screen in front of you it is nothing quick of amazing. The new Hot Pursuit game is an totally different animal with this setup, as are any other games I've run with it. Tweaked out at 850񳃒 these cards push enough horsepower to run most games maxed at 100+ fps on 1 monitor, and have managed 50-80 fps on most 3 monitor configurations I've performed. Very a lot searching forward to the future as more games unlock this tech and it becomes a lot more mainstream. Can't propose the 5850 Leading sufficient. You're going to will need a higher end energy supply for this, and not necessarily for the raw watt rating. Make confident you have dedicated PCI-E 6Ǟ-pin rails if at all doable - and even then you'll probably want the incorporate 2xmolex-PCIE adapters to get optimal power to these factors if you're operating two. Cards do crank a small noise when you get them up to their average operating temp (maxed out settings in most games I'm normally just under 60 degrees celsius, which is incredible in my opinion), but my fan speeds hardly ever leading 45-50%, leaving the sound to be only slightly louder than my other case fans, mostly 120mm antecs. For the cost, this card remains an unbelievable deal, but as has been mentioned in other reviews, if your purchase is going to be an upgrade from an older card, look to the 6000 series initially. Price v. functionality these cards are a slightly greater deal. All about even though, I don't regret my option of these over the substantially greater (MUCH more a year ago) 5870's - this card quickly tops the clock speeds and base overall performance of them. Bottom line is, do your research, recognize what you're obtaining and its specifications. It's the web: no excuse for no getting additional data than you need. Until lately the card blew away anything I threw at it. I was in a position to play all the newest games in hi-res. I under no circumstances had an situation with it. Card comes overclocked not that it seriously demands to. Customer/Tech. help stinks. I had to RMA my card due to it overheating and crashing my technique. Card came back with the identical situation unresolved. Referred to as ASUS (get prepared for hour extended occasions on hold). I was told a pre-paid RMA would be sent to me. It under no circumstances came. So back to the phone I went for another hour plus. Was told my e mail address was entered wrong on their finish. So now that I've been lied to and my card sent back broken nevertheless I will never once again acquire from ASUS. Like I posted till this issue I never had any troubles with the card. I anticipated ASUS to stand behind their product and honor their warranty and all I've gotten is a run around and lost ฤ bucks I paid for the first RMA. Remain away from ASUS (I myself run two ASUS MBs) unless you want to throw away funds. They even tried blaming my MB until I told them it was one of theirs and then the tech. shut up about it getting a MB problem. I tried the card in 2 other systems with the similar outcome...it's broken.

This by far the fastest card I have noticed below 跌.New Egg shipped it out through Black Friday week and we got it in 4 days. It's strong. I beat the hell out of it through the hardware install and it's nevertheless in one piece. -Why the lengthy card? I have a mini ATX and could fit an NVida 460 with no problem. I had to rebuild my complete hardware setup to get it to match. The card (on an ASUS TD88 EVO) is 1ǘ an inch above the IDE in and created installation a lot of "fun".-The energy provide ins were a little tight.(I'm not positive if that was the card or my power provide.) -I installed the newest drivers off the ATI site and my performance crawled. I was receiving video stutters and my FPS fluctuated in between 1 and 150.I reinstalled off the ASUS web site and almost everything's been smooth 60 because.-The rebate is garbage. It's for a present card I would use ON THIS CARD.I bought 2 and if I play my cards appropriate, I wouldn't want the present card for like 2+ years. Thanks Asus, I guess...?

An excellent graphics card for the funds. Cooler than reference 5850 primarily based cards, and delivers efficiency close to that of the 5870 cards. Hands down, the best 5850 card you can purchase. This is also the finest mid-high end card that you can get. Highly propose if you want a excellent video card that doesn't price 踰+. None genuinely. It is a very extended card, and barely fits in my full size ATX tower. Appears like I've gone back and forth amongst ATi and nVidia over the past 10 years, but this time it was no contest. ATi is genuinely hitting on all cylinders right now. Delivers the identical functionality as numerous of the Fermi primarily based cards although working with half the power. Extremely effective GPU, as far as strong discrete graphics goes.

This was a six. on the windows score till I got the most current driver. Now it is 7.7. I have not utilized the overclocking but I'm sure it could do additional if I did. Fantastic card for the expense. I believed about a SLI setup but this appears to satisfy.

Make confident you plug in the eight and 6 pin from PSU ATI computer software blows(Not ASUS fault). This is a massive card but you should already know this. Make confident it can fit in your case. I am operating Crysis, Crysis warhead and Fallout three at max settings and the card is running cool and quiet. Very poor install set up instructions. I believed my first card was defective and sent it back, then I believed the second 1 was as properly. I finaly reached a very good tech support person who informed me that I needed to use the 8 pin power as an alternative of the 6. Makes you wonder why there's a 6 pin in the very first place....

Upgraded to this back in December and the card runs wonderful. Notably, the cooler on it is fairly effective and there's a lot of OC potential. Lately bought a second a single for CrossfireX as I'm building a new method, I'm rather excited to see how that works out but even as a single card it's superb. None, excellent efficiency, a great cooler and a great price tag. I paid way too much for it when I bought the very first card, while that's genuinely my personal gosh darn fault. CrossfireX may well also not be worth it until I get a second monitor, but that all depends on how nicely the game scales with Crossfire.

I upgraded from two 4850's to 1 5850 and it is outperforming my old cards nicely. It's not a ridiculously massive enhance on WoW but in most DX11 games... it runs them max settings wonderfully. The utilities are tiny to be preferred. There's also a odd glitch when it comes to overclocking and utilizing two monitors. I'm pondering this could be fixable by utilizing crossfire. I want to obtain a different one particular. Get far more in stock NewEgg!!!!!

Excellent card! Stays incredibly cool! Overclocks quite really effectively (With voltage bumps) Not quite power hungry in contrast to other brands! Nonetheless the very best bang for the buck. Scales well in Crossfire. One of the only voltage controlled cards on a Non reference PCB. Terrible new is.... You can not use the voltage control on this card if you are Crossfiring it with a reference PCB card.I located this out since I bought this card for that cause. To overclock with my Reference 5850. (At the time I couldn't discover one more reference card)So while it does overclock nicely..... you can't use the voltage handle in crossfire.... unless you are crossfiring it with this exact model.Also...Even though this card does overclock really nicely. It doesn't overclock as effectively on stock volts as the reference cards do.You can simply surpass reference cards overclocks with bumping up the voltage on this card. But I discovered if you don't adjust this cards voltages.... it will not overclock as effectively as a reference 5850. Asus Wise medical professional just stinks! Other then that this card is just great! I'd hate to blame the card but that is the only solution that I can see, a number of other members have also reviewed that these cards can come and have come dead on arrival ideal out of the box. Is there some concern with these cards with untested hardware or some thing? Two in a row with the exact identical issue is bizarre..Newegg; smooth RMA course of action.

Fast. Excellent Cooling. Handles 1920x1080 gaming like a champ! Fantastic price tag and included a rebate card! Asus Intelligent Doctor and ten.12 drivers don't play good. Would only post when in 2nd PCI-E slot. (A8N32-SLI Deluxe) Produced the switch from an 8800GT that had been good to me. I went with this more than a newer card since it got excellent marks at a budget price tag. I have an older method and figured this would hold me more than until I create a power technique later this year.

See other thoughts//// See other thoughts//// To the reviewer below me, your screen flickering has nothing at all to do with the actual card. I have the similar situation employing a single 5850 (DirectCu) or each in CF. The problem lies in the 10.three and 10.4 drivers, for some odd purpose AMD is not carrying out a wonderful job on their drivers so till they release a new fix you will continue to have screen flicker on your second monitor, welcome to the club =)Also, if you want to raise the voltage utilizing MSI afterburner rather of Doctor you will want to edit the CFG file in afterburner, changing it to ɢ will allow the voltage, next time you dock and egg on a flawless item make confident you can back it up a thing that tends to make sense mainly because to be honest it appears you have no clue as to what the card is capable of..
