Fast, runs cool, not also bulky, overclocks wonderful, Smartdoctor sucks, glitchy, doesn't hold voltage immediately after restart even with save voltage and clock settings checked. I know many persons dont like Smartdoc and gamerOSD. Well, the answer to that see other thoughts. Drivers are kinda glitchy, but its AMD/ATI, what do you expect? download MSI Afterburner. Can adjust core and memory clocks but not voltage. Nevertheless have to use smartdoc for that. But afterburner has very best OSD ever! IT is the very same as evga's precision powered by riva tuner. Can have gpu temp, usage, fps, clock speeds, time, and much more in contrast to gamerOSD. Running stock voltage at 850mhz core and 1250 memory. Peaks at 67c with zalman vf1000 cooler. Will be ordering another 1 of these with yet another vf1000 this week. Seeing 50-70fps on crysis max settings.Acquire IT!!!!! |

Extremely quickRuns coolSuper overclock-ableQuietDX11 support Vents hot air from heat sink into case Ditch the custom software package and driver from Asus. Get the most current driver from AMD (Display driver and OpenCL driver) and do oneself a favor: Download the MSI afterburner software package.I initially installed the Asus-distinct s/w and driver and they looked like they were written by a five-year-old in the 90s.Following running the CCC and getting it auto-tune the system (It clocked the card to 855!), I had some concerns with stability. I uninstalled all of the Asus stuff and started over.I grabbed the most up-to-date DD and openCL drivers, got the Afterburner s/w from the MSI internet site, and haven't looked back. I ran FurMark and with a 15-minute burn-in and temps in no way got above 78 degrees. This is compared to a Diamond 5850 I had, which beneath the very same stress (and only operating at 765) was hitting 92 degrees. The afterburner s/w has all the exact same attributes as the Asus s/w and looks and behaves as if a skilled wrote it. You can also use it to adjust the voltages on the card for larger clo |

Blistering efficiency, Great value, Get 1. It's all you'll will need. none I waited four months to write this to give the card an chance to junk out. This thing is ridiculous. So this is one particular of Asus' Top lineup cards which means it comes from the top tested15% of the 5850s that they receive. It came core clocked to 765. I adjusted this to 850 and paired it w/ 890gpa-ud3h & 1090TGhz and this factor rocks. It stays cool & quiet and gets me 22k on 3dmark06. Runs games like Aion戴+frames quite considerably all the time. In no way gets overheated. Fan never ever gets loud. This is the greatest card I have ever owned. You need to update the driver based on which date/driver pack they ship w/ it. |

This is what you want. I have spent a month researching Every thing. Comparing even the Diamond 5850. This is much better, slightly. There were no critiques when I got this, so I rolled the dice, and I'm glad I did.It handles Every little thing!!!!!!!!!!!!AVP3, BF Poor Company 2 is Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FRIGGEN Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't do my dishes. 5870's are only slightly greater then this for the cost. You can shave 100 bucks off "top of the line" if you get this card. It's nice and extended, thick, just like my case, Ms. Full Tower likes it. This card comes with overclockable software program AND a button on the card. You can overclock and bump voltage in two seconds. I won't do that even though. It's too rapid already for me to want to mess with it. |

Excellent card! Fit in my Antec 900 (barely) and runs beautifuly. Ate Crysis 2 for breakfast, then had a double helping of some complicated SolidWorks models for desert. Had to eliminate a fan mount for my HDD cage (which I wasn't making use of anyway). But, power cables do come out the end, so they do occupy a single HDD slot. Looks remarkable. I love the look of this card, too negative the sweet heatsink shroud points down where I can't see it. :'( |

Runs truly cool, never ever above 53C in my Antec 900 case.Runs every game i've thrown at it at mex res and settings at great frame rates(Fallout three,SC2, TF2, CS:S...) I know those aren't all quite taxing, but nonetheless. The clock speed was instantly recognized as nicely, no fiddiling, perfect straight out of the box with the catalyst ten.ten! none! Its about 11 1ǘ 12 inches long. its pretty large. fits in an Antec 900 case perfectly.Keep in mind, this card Desires a 6 pin and 8 pin power connector! |

Really rapidly for a reasonable price. None yet. It seems some folks are having difficulty finding the card working (as was I), with reports of a whining noise. Properly, in my case, it turned out I didn't have two 6-pin cables plugged into it as necessary. I necessary both the two-to-1 converter included in the box, as nicely as a standard 6-pin (or 8-pin) directly from the PSU. |

Idles @ 46C & by no means gets over 60C even when playing intensive games such as Crysis or Battlefield:Bad Company 2. I at present have mine operating at 900 core / 1225 memory @ 1.174 v with no complications , I'm pretty confident it will go even higher as this is a Cypress core ( similar as 5870 ) & really should be in a position to reach the identical speeds as overclocked 5870's do , albeit with ten% less shaders. I had significant issues when I first got it ( in june ) due to ATI's drivers, but this has been totally resolved with Catalyst ten.5 & later drivers. It was 339.99 when I got mine , wish I had waited a bit. I have no concept why ASUS decided to use an 8 pin & 6 pin power connector on a 5850 instead of 6 pinǜ pin. Most 5870's only have a 6ǜ , even overclocked versions. It works just fine with two 6 pins on my 600 watt PSU..If you having issues , its not mainly because of the connectors, these are really power efficient cards. The mighty 5970 dual gpu card only makes use of one 8 pin & one 6 pin. Assume about that ! My mobo ( ASUS P5N-E SLI ) only has PCI-E 1. slots , so I may well have a slight bottleneck , but it works fine. |

This card is a beast. I have had no troubles at all with it. It is a small loud but thats to be expected due to how big it is....Runs every game out to date which includes Dead Space two on max and Rift. None Good card if you have a strict spending budget. It can be cross fired and can handle pretty much something out nowadays. |

Not a lot to say about performance that hasn't already been mentioned. It's surprisingly light (much lighter than the GTX 260 it was replacing). Not seriously a negative, but it will only fit in the Thermaltake Armor MX+ if you eliminate the difficult drive cage. Fortunately, I was in a position to pick up a couple adapters and mount the drives in the optical bays. |

Coming from a radeon HD2600 pro, this card is a Huge improvement. My technique genuinely started showing its age following playing the new AVP game. With the 5850, it plays that with all the graphics settings on high, at my monitors native resolution x900)I'm tempted to throw ARMA two at it just to see it squirm, but am enjoying playing all my existing games at their maxed out graphics settings. Big! I had to move my harddrive to make room in my little-ish mid tower case.None of my 8-pin power connectors fit the 8-pin power port on the card. But the card is operating fine on 2 6 pin pci-e energy connectors.I won't try to overclock it configured like this though. For the cost and efficiency it's challenging to beat this card. Every single review I read just before it's obtain just reinforced the reality that this was THE card to have. The reality that it will overclock readily and has the selection of crossfire need to keep it competitive for the forseeable future. |

Outstanding create good qualityFan is good and actually does cool particularly nicely (quiet as nicely until you get over 60% speed but thats not genuinely required)Lots of computing power without having consuming a ton of wattage/ampsCan obtain 95% of 5870's speed. Received a faulty model, black flickering in 3ǚ games i played. ASUS tech support speedily mentioned to RMA, i had a challenging time believing this due to the reality that a couple games worked fine (Just Trigger 2 and Assassin's Creed 2) but other games (SC2, ARMA 2) would get black flickering and hang. I assumed it was a computer software/driver concern. Tried reseating the card, jumping about to unique driver versions, changing PCI-E power cables. No luck. ASUS couldn't offer you any suggestions or bios updates or really ANYTHING to help me isolate the trigger. Other folks have had this issue and end up RMA'ing to only have the problem take place once more. I understand there is usually a chance of a DOA, soon after ordering parts for 10-12 computers over the years I was very lucky in not really receiving any poor pieces of hardware apart from an old HIS X800XL where two cards had bad fan controllers. I'm rating this a 3 instead of a 1 for that reason. Nevertheless I'm rating it a 3 due to the reality that ASUS tech support was much less than useful. I don't know if this is a frequent concern with these cards (seems to be if you google this problem). I was at least expecting to talk to a skilled on ASUS' side nevertheless he mentioned to send it back with no other suggestions leading me to think its a prevalent problem. If my next version comes in I will post a five egg assuming it works. |

- Asus is generally a brand name you can rely on for service and quality- Much more effective cooling than the reference models, which in turns tends to make it an uncomplicated overclocker- Unlocked voltage control, yet again, to simply take it further in overclocking - Heat is dumped inside the situation, this is not a pproblem for massive well ventilated cases, but can be an situation in smaller cramped circumstances. This is really an added strength if you have a effectively ventilated situation as a lot more air will pass by means of the half exposed heat sink, making the card temperatures even superior- The fan is a bit noisy when ramping up as the temperature rises, but it's manageable I purchased 2 of these to crossfire them in my Silverstone TJ10 situation, and they function admirably. I could easily from the get-go clock them as high as stock 5870 cards, with no hiccup or temperature complications whatsoever, and they can go even greater, though I only did some preliminary tests. The way I figured, with 2 of these cards, I get even additional performances than a single 5970 card, for about the exact same price, and I wasn't disappointed as this is specifically what I'm seeing. I also get the added advantage of each cards having their own 16X PCI-E rail, rather of sharing a single 16X, and also far better cooling as both GPU have their personal heat sink.Overall, extremely advised, in crossfire or standalone.
