Cons: The sound cables are very short (requires extension cable on both sides, but only one provided with product). Device connections are not maintained upon switching (each computer must rediscover the connected devices each time you switch from one to the other).

Pros: Simple hookup and solid connections. No software required.
Comment:
Simple well built device for basic KVM function. Color coded attachments and LCD light are handy. I've heard other KVM switches maintain the device connections to both computers so that the computers do not have to re-discover the connected devices each time you switch ... this one does not do that however it does not require any software and has worked for me without problems.

Pros: Great little KVM

Bought it to connect laptop to peripherals at work. Works very well, no hassle connection. Clearly worth the price.

Cons: none

Pros: Cost effective, simple, no programming uploadssoftware from Belkin works great. Switching back and forth takes about 2-3 seconds.
Comment:
installed it this morning and recovered 1/2 my desk back (home PC and company laptop). It works great, 2-3 seconds for switchover. I should have bought this a lot sooner. You don't need the remote if you download the software and load on each computer.

Cons: VGA vs. DVI ones are priced out of whack?

Pros: Cost, Ease of Use, Time Saver!
Comment:
I can't believe I've lived without this thing for this long! I work on PC's too often and was always tugging one off the bench for the next etc etc etc...Now my main test/work pig rig sits and stays on the bench while any bomb boxes can simply plug into this thing to get fixed! Wonderful and it worked for my application! Thank you Thank you...

Cons: No through flow for USB devices

Pros: Performs as advertised
Comment:
This KVM does the job for the cost, but is a bit of a pain to set up at first since the unit disconnects from one computer to connect to the other on switch there is a wait for the unit to send proper signal to all the connected equipment. This is a minor nuisance but is acceptable considering the cost.

Cons: -Response time a bit slow (until it connects again after hitting the button)-Problems with which computer has the priority to start with. Read Summary.

Pros: Easy to setup and install and the button switch is very nice to have.
Comment:
So after hooking this up (and I've tried this on different computers, switching cables, and more), if I turn on computer 1, then 2, it's fine. However, if I turn on computer 2, then computer 1 (or just computer 2), I don't have anything working. What I have to do is basically:1- disconnect the main piece (where all the wires come out from) and2- connect it back again (to the piece where the wires come in or connect to).3- I basically hear a clicking noise after (same noise as when your pressing the button to switch) and my screen will go to computer 1 (which may not be on), so I have to then press the button to go back to PC1. Then things are fine.I'm not sure why this happens but this was the case from day 1 (I actually found this out the second or third week after using it because it worked from PC1 to PC2) and I was just too busy to send it back and then it was too late to do that after.Aside from this problem, this is a nice device. But seriously, this is really annoying especially that I use PC2 twice as much as I use PC1. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-17-09 02:34 PM

Cons: VGA connector is not so comfortable to install;sound and usb cables are designed for back panel, so they're kinda short..

Pros: Cheap, nice looking, no power supply needed, cable included etc
Comment:
Bought this at a price of $19.87, decent deal. It does its job well. With this price, you can hardly found all the cables it includes.Just setting up a kvm network with my old and new computers. The new one is dual-screen. I set the one of screens to the kvm. So I can have a dual-screen new machine and a single screen old computer working at the same time. Surprisingly, this KVM Switch is not as bad as some of the comments sad. Only 2-3 sec delay for switching with a usb keyboard and a wireless mice.(install only once, after that it acts like plug in and out). Also, The sound works with front panel headphone as well.

Cons: -Lopsided cable size.

Pros: -Seems to work okay.
Comment:
Old KVM switch was dying. It often forgot to send a signal to my monitor.Got this to replace it, connecting an old Win98 computer and a newer one. VGA works perfect - but I haven't bothered trying USB keyboards with it, because the DOS programs in use don't work with them.Don't forget to plug the USB in to both computers to provide power.Oh, and one of the cables is really short, but that's okay as long as you have a spot to put the switch next to one computer.

Cons: Cable length was an issue for me. One cable is approximately 2.5', while the second cable is about 5'. I needed equal length cables to set up my computers on either side of my monitor. On two occassions during the three weeks I had this unit, it lost signal to keyboard and mouse, but recovered within seconds only causing minor interruptions.

Pros: The wired remote is a great feature, and allows the unit to be hidden which is nice because it uses built in cables and has a unique design that unfortunately doesn't lend itself to a clean installation. Switching computers is easy with this unit, but takes about 3 seconds to restart the USB devices upon each switch.
Comment:
Some reviews site issues with the remote device. I too had problems at first, but realized that the plug for the remote needed to be pushed more firmly into the switch. It was a very firm fit once I did that, and never had any problems with the switch. If I only used my systems for home office and light gaming, I would have kept the unit. However, I needed four ports, and a unit with USB pass through for faster switching as I do PC repair work from my office as well as moderate gaming.

Cons: Cabling is a little clumsy... kinda comes out of the hub like a big octopus!

Pros: Does what it's supposed to!
Comment:
Got it on sale for super cheap, and works as advertised! No problems with my XP machine, MS mouse and Dell multimedia enhanced keboard. A minor annoyance though is that it takes approx. 20 sec. for the keyboard and mouse to come back after a switch... Seems like the USB devices are disconnected from one machine and reconnected to the other so Windows has to rediscover that they're there... Higher end KVMs do not do this. Cons: The button is a bit unusual to get used to. Would prefer the typical "scroll lock double click" to get it to work.

Pros: Has USB and audio!
Comment:
This worked out real great for my two servers. The keyboard is treated as a generic USB keyboard on the two systems and required no additional drivers or anything else. However, a small nitpick that I have with these sort of KVMs is that I wish that the cables were detachable.

Cons: Long wait for keyboard responsiveness

Pros: Looks goodDoesn't require softwareEasy "Flip" button for switching
Comment:
I have been using this with my monitor, keyboard and mouse between my main desktop and my Macbook. I purchased this so I could easily web browse, etc with my macbook using my desktop's mouse, keyboard, and display. To start off, this is compatible with OSX which is a plus. If I recall correctly there are some KVM switches which are not, though I may be mistaken. If you are using a macbook or macbook pro with this, you will need a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter that Apple sells. A bit of a downer. Display and Mouse switches are pretty quick. Unfortunately on my desktop it takes almost a minute for my Keyboard to start working. This is a big hassle. The keyboard starts working almost instantly on my macbook. Luckily I'm not using the KVM switch a lot, otherwise I'd be REALLY pissed off.It could be something to do with my motherboard, but I still don't feel that I should have to wait this long with any computer. I wouldn't advise anyone purchase this product, unless you're simply using it with a Display.
