Installed the driver, installed the modem in my Dell 531S Vista Premium and off it went. Just like they said it would. No problems, perfect for my application.

Dropped in, before the OS finished loading the drivers were installed and the device was recognized by Windows. Zero-configuration required for installation. Using it for a basic fax line (utilizing Win7's fax & scan). It works great - no issues.

I use satellite to connect from my mountain home & job, but when the connection is lost I use the dial-up modem that came with my old Dell that's been slowly losing its usefulness to me. My new Lenovo Vista desktop had no modem and I didn't want to pay much. I ordered the low profile but it was too small, of course. There was no picture of it on Amazon, the way it shows on Tigerdirect, so I wasn't sure. So I ordered the larger version and had no problems at all - a first for this rascal Vista! I once saw someone add memory to a computer a few years ago -- that's the only training I ever had, but it came in handy to see how to add a card. My connection is great and I'm very happy and proud of myself for trying and succeeding. Tell your grandma she can do this too!

Wish I could say this worked beautifully, but it turned out to be incompatible with my computer (a Dell slim-type, which may be why it didn't work out).

My fear was that it wouldn't be small format, or that I'd have to change out the card, so was pleased to find it was as advertised. No problems installing, although had to leave out some of the installed software as unnecessary. My clients were pleased with how they worked.

Nice modem for the money. I didn't actually notice that this was a low-profile modem until it arrived. A bit of sculpting using a Dremel sanding disc allowed the low-profile to work nicely in a regular sized slot! My bad.

I have an old Dell Celeron PC that came with a modem. The speed was fast. I put this new modem on a new dual core PC, this modem's performance is slower than the Celeron PC.

Great price, easy installation, works well, however, support comes up very short and if problems occur, re-installation can be a headache. Overall, I am well pleased.

I gave this a 2 across the board only because it stated that it was linux compatible. The drivers on the cd are all RPM based as mentioned. I mistakenly thought that a debian distribution might also pic it up. After numerous tries I opted for a usrobotics usb modem. I had that up and running with no additional software on ubuntu in 5 minutes. (hint- use dmesg to find the appropriate port designation for any usb device).
