Once I got past my advanced senior moment it worked great. Instantly recognized by OS. I use free cd dvd burning programs which worked seamlessly with this unit. It is an excellent product, and is my second external product from this company.

Purchased this product for use with two laptops as an upgrade from a CD Burner. The drive was recognized right away by Windows XP and was in use in a matter of minutes. I have had no problems with this product and would recommend it to anyone in the market for an external DVD Burner.

Bought this to use with my wifes netbook (Gateway) was recognized as soon as I plugged it into netbook made back up discs and worked flawlessly.Well worth it would buy this again.

Everything you'd expect from a portable ultra slim DVD burner! Works great with netbooks and laptops and work instantly under Linux & Mac (Windows needs the included software). The software for Windows isn't the greatest, bad interface. Takes twice as long to burn under Windows then Linux or Mac even thou the speed is stated as the same.

Very minimal instructions. Manual on CD not much better. Still can get it to read a DVD and my Dell system(XP Prof) does not recognize it. It will read CD's but not DVD's. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Easy to use but the drive is not always recognized by the operating system. The instructions mention this as a potential problem and ocurred about a third of the time. Not a big deal but an annoyance.

Wish the description stated that an adapter was available. (to free up the usb port on my netbook)I purchased the adapter later. Other that that it performs well and does everything as advertised.

As I have experienced with other iOmega equipment, this drive worked just as advertised. It is small enough to be a good companion to the netbook I have which came without an optical drive. It worked connected to only one USB port. I had tried a bargain brand which required two ports. I have too few ports to spare on this netbook.
