Cons: None thus far.

Pros: Reliable, foolproof setup guide.
Comment:
Bought this to replace my dLink router which was on its last legs. The setup was fast and easy. Range covers my whole house (2 floors). Would definitely buy again but hopefully I won't have to. ;p

Pros: Good price for an N router.

Hi troypalmer90:How/where did you measure/view the before and after antenna power 50mW/71mW?I too have a weak signal in some areas of my house, so just wanted to check the antenna power/signal strength.Let me know.Thanks.

Cons: Ethernet cable included is only about 4', cisco firmware doesn't get all out of the router so I had to upgrade firmware

Pros: Ease of use for avg user, dd-wrt compatible, looks, price
Comment:
For $20, this router could be a steal. Set up this router with the easy setup key, but got weak signal at even short distance.Upgraded firmware with dd-wrt, which changed antenna power from 50mW to 71mW, and now get great signal. Comparable router would cost ~ $150.Easy setup key can just be used at 1Gb flash drive now.

Pros: Solid when flashed with DDWRT
Comment:
If you manage to get a V1 (check the serial no. in the store before buying) then easily flashable to DDWRT. Can't beat the price.

Cons: Lack of Gigabit port

Pros: Same hardware as WRT160N or e1000
Comment:
If you pick up the v1 of this router, CVJ0K series serial number, you can install number of 3rd party firmwares that can take this router up a notch in terms of reliability and scalability. The stock VALET software is not a fit for anyone familiar with routers but this would be a router that I would give to my parents who require a much simpler setup. The range has been better than the WNR2000v2 that it replaced.

Cons: Seriously what is the point of that valet key? How hard is it to set up a router?

Pros: Great router
Comment:
This router has a pretty unbeatable value. It's pretty much always on sale on some online retailer. It's dd-wrt flashable, as long as it's version 1 and not 2 read sf1's review to find out how. I am two floors away from the router and am still getting full signal strength (thats with a super powerful antenna btw, but i still get like 4/5 bars with my laptop's wifi card in the same spot). I recommend installing dd-wrt on this. It'll take some time to set it up but boy what a difference.

Cons: V1 has a 100/10 switch, V2 has a gigabit switch. NCIX has V1 and V2. If you want to load DD-WRT, you need to get V1. You're stuck with stock firmware with V2 and I find it to be terrible.

Pros: Can load DD-WRT if V1, aesthetically pleasing. 2x2 spatial streams for up to 300Mbps wireless.
Comment:
I bought this on sale for a cheap DD-WRT capable router to for repeater bridge mode or WDS to extend my wireless network. Stock firmware obviously would not be able to. Comes with a 1GB USB key that you can format for your own use if you don't want to use the stock firmware setup (Cisco Connect). 2 antennas inside of it allow for up to 300Mbps wireless. Note that I specifically wanted a V1. V1 serials start with CVJ01K. V2 serials start with CVJ11K. When I bought mine for pickup, they came out with a V2 so I asked to switch for a V1 sitting out for display in the store. If you just want a cheap new wireless router or wireless AP, a V2 would work fine with stock firmware.

Cons: - looks ugly and prefers external antennas like the original WRT54G.- this router is way overpriced if it wasn't on sale.- Cisco should just ship this router out with the DD-WRT firmware.

Pros: Works extremely well as a wireless bridge after flashing it to DD-WRT. You can forget about the setup key and use it as a 1GB USB drive. I believe the internal hardware is identical to the Asus RT-Nxx series which uses Broadcom 300MHz CPU which is great. I got the Rev 1 which can be flashed I hope NCIX won't ever stock the Rev 2.
Comment:
Purchased this because it was the cheapest DD-WRT compatible router I could find at the moment and my Patriot Box Office wireless N adapter can not stream 720p without stutter. Set this router up as a wireless bridge and then hardwired to my box office solved all problems. Lots of information online on how to flash this router. Make sure you get the version one with serial starts with CVJ01K because rev 2 can not be flashed.

Cons: Garbage product!

Pros: Nice packaging, good looks and easy setup
Comment:
GARBAGE! I'm a techie and I have to say this product is pure garbage. I've never used CISCO products while always heard bad things about them. Forever, I've been using DLink or TPLink and NEVER EVER had ANY issue with ANY of their products. This CISCO went on sale for $25 and thought I'd give it a try. NOPE. Returning this tomorrow despite the 15% restocking fee. Setup was easy I'll give it that, but this isn't something that benefits me because I always know what I'm doing. First issue was unable to connect all my products at home which include 3 laptops and 2 smart phones (I setup using my desktop which is connected through cable). Took forever and still won't work (I tried connecting through the laptop wireless AS WELL AS trying the "smart key" that came with the router. I thought it may be due to some changes I made in the router settings. So I reset and decided to try on default settings. All laptops and cell phones in the house can now connect, and I thought what a relief. I go for dinner and come back, all wifi products are disconnected again and CANNOT connect back. I check my desktop, and I cannot visit ANY webpage by "typing them out in the address bar". I can only visit my bookmarks which do not require any "typing in the address bar or search bar". This is horrible. I used my smart phone on data to do some research and a lot of people are having issues with getting the CISCO to work. No doubt it's on sale for 75% off. I'm not even going to try to fix the problem, this is going back to NCIX tomorrow. I don't blame NCIX as they've always been good to me, but Linksys...c'mon. First time trying your product and this is the result. The old saying is right, don't fix what isn't broken. I'm back on my DLink and back on track. I just can't help myself sometimes from buying computer things, it's like how women have addiction to shoes and purses.

Very good price, I had to snatch it up. My previous router was fairly basic, this one is easy to set up as well and comes with the USB key; definite plus. It does what I need it too and have no complaints. Would definitely reccommend to anybody.

Cons: The quick setup isn't as painless as it states.

Pros: Good coverage.Comes with a lot of good features (QoS).Firmware was easy to update.Definitely worth the price at the moment.
Comment:
For the price it's going for right now I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be worth it. I'm currently using it as a AP rather then a router since I've been having a lot of problems trying to make it work with the crappy modem I got from Bell. I've been able to connect all my wireless devices a floor above the router, so the range seems fairly decent.

When i seen this on sale i just had to get it, just for the price. Even when i was buying it i was just thinking I'm never gonna use this cause i have one from my ISP. Well that kinda changed.I got bored so i decided to hook it up, I'm not newbie to setting up networks and such but this one was straight forward and extremely simple. Cisco / Linksys knocked out of the park with this one. It's literally a plug and play (in a sense) type of router.I definitely noticed a slight difference in speed over my ISP's standard issue wireless modem. Settings are easy to use and adapt. The guest network feature is pretty cool as well, it beats having to explain a whole encrypted password to a guest that wants to use the internet on their laptop or phone. You can have two separate passwords your main wireless network and a guest network. In conclusion this wireless router is great. Obviously not the best when it comes to a wireless routers but for people who want simplicity and straight forward settings this one is for you.
