I place the Mushkin with each other with an 1156 H57 SATA II board and an i5-760 cpu, and there's just not substantially else to say other than to repeat the mantra "fast rapid rapidly" whilst Mushkin & close friends are booting up and loading and saving...a far far superior mantra than the "faster quicker quicker, please please please" matra we've all mumbled waiting for the 5400 or 7200 rpm hdd to get the identical jobs completed. Getting reasonably newish technology for those of us who are component of the Computer-building consumer globe, the major unknown for this and any other SSD is durability and longevity...time will tell on that one particular, but so far the Mushkin is off to a quite very good start out. Sure, I'd like it to price less per gigabyte and get far more gigabytes for the identical cash, and that will no doubt come about. But the beauty of the SSD is that you don't have to stew more than the cost of it really extended ahead of you get to the Win7 desktop, get those major files opened and saved, and get distracted from obsessing more than the price of it. Still Uber Swift! Good 2.5"-ɯ.5" adapter bracket with screws. Excellent packaging. On-line support is responsive. Zero documentation ships with the drive. Practically nothing on their site either, other than forums. Requires new full install of your OS. These Sandforce drives, as do all SSD's, need a host of modifications to be created to system settings to realize the complete advantages. These modifications aren't always intuitive or straightforward to find, but they are doable. If you don't currently know what they are, you'll want a rapid web connection to hunt them down with. This may or may not be a CON for you, based on how considerably you enjoy tweaking your box.The benchmark speeds I listed in my preceding post were utilizing AS SSD. Not as advertised, but for that benchmark, I have found those speeds are truly pretty great. Even so, employing ATTO (free, downloadable and Mushkin advisable) my speeds are 283 MB/s study and 269 MB/s write. Now that's "As Advertised"!!!The newest Intel Fast Storage Transfer (RST) driver package ྪ.x) gave me a Ӱ% DROP in efficiency, compared to the preceding version ƙ.six.x). Intel could be favoring their drives at the Sandforce's expense. These seriously are great drives. But I bumped an egg for no documentation.

Incredibly rapid when operating, three.five" a plus for hot-plug trays Fails day-to-day in a RAID array on an Adaptec 5405 while other arrays are fine. This could be the controller (Adaptec) or it could be the drives, I do not know for sure but I do know that the other array on the controller is fine. This leads me to believe that it's the drives which is why I went with 3 eggs. When they are operating they are Really rapidly.

It is fast when it functions Drive failed immediately after 3 weeks. Simply because this drive has a rebate, Newegg would not let a return for refund for replacement. Obtaining a response from Mushkin has been really slow and I still do not have a refund however. Attempted the drive on other computer systems and it doesn't even show in the "Disk Management" section of "Computer Management" on Windows 7.

These are wicked rapid and, of course, silent. Comes complete with a good two.five"-ɯ.five" bracket and screws in packaging appropriate for jewelery. You WILL notice an eye-popping improvement in all round program response - once you get it up and running... Retail drives ship with NO directions or software program toolkit (a la Intel SSD's). The Mushkin SSD's are just way more hard to adequately install and set-up than they ought to be as a outcome.Be ready for a clean set up of your OS (AHCI Enabled, thank you extremely considerably...). OS "repair" installs merely fail and cloning or partition copying is a waste of time. I have heard nothing at all but very good points about Mushkin help, but I have yet to get a response to any assistance queries for over a week. These are advertised at 285MB/s read / 275MB/s write, Your mileage may differ... I get 194렆 respectively on an ASUS P6T DlxV2 running via the initially Southbridge port, avoiding the Marvell controller. Quickly, to be confident, but nonetheless only 68%ኄ% of the rated speed. Speeds are following all the proper tweaks to use these drives (and there are a lot of) have been applied to a clean Win7Pro x64 set up.You have to be a self starter kind of particular person to place up with the lack of Mushkin help.If this is your 1st foray into the planet of SSD, be ready to commit hours on the net researching what does/doesn't perform with these drives. Or get an Intel SSD.As instance, my Mushkin refuses to come out of S3 sleep without a BSOD crash or a reboot. All the settings to support sleep mode are appropriate (Hibernate=OFF, etc.) Never ever had that with my WD Caviar Black

This was extremely simple to install and runs my OS rapid as nicely as my other applications. Ɨ.7 on windows 7 scale.) None however (but I have only had it for a tiny more than a week) For the set up, make confident the BIOS is set to use AHCI and that it is in SATA and is the only disk drive. My build was for an AMD, but if Intel you need to have to get the Intel Speedy Storage drivers for following set up. A tiny research prior to installing this SSD make for an really uncomplicated set up.

Rapid SSD- Love it. Boot ups are quicker. The initially time I clicked shutdown I looked up at the Tv and back down at the pc, I had a slight moment of panic as I believed some thing had broke mainly because the laptop was already off. None Set up sucked a small - that was not the SSD's fault. HP recovery disks wern't even the right version of windows and it would not recover to the SSD correctly. I had a windows 7 disk laying around, did a clean set up and it worked great.

Super quickly! I just copied my OS drive to this drive making use of SuperDuper! and boot instances went from about 35 seconds to about 17! Mac Workplace now loads in a couple of seconds as opposed to 15+. I am incredibly pleased. None but. This is the ideal upgrade you can make to a Laptop. My only complaint is with OSX not getting TRIM assistance, so we will see how that affects the create speeds more than time. Ultimately I will entirely erase the drive and reload the OS adequately, but I don't have time proper now. Reliability is my only query at this point....

With out a doubt, the best SataII SSD out there. This is the second a single of these drives I own now. Each computers running windows 7 64 Ultimate. Ɨ.7 WEI) out of the box.Looks good, feels strong but light. Ultra quiet, ultra cool.Mushkin is a U.S. business and I have been working with only their memory products since 2001. Now SSD too. ...No SATAIII version I would venture to say this drive would nevertheless give some SATAIII drives a run for their income.FYI - I would use their power supplies if they had bigger ones.I also use their flash drives. They will be coming out with new Radioactive DDR3 Soon.

Very quick - Sandforce controller. This is about as excellent as it gets till the subsequent gen Intel and Sandforce stuff comes out. Newegg shipped quickly and had great pricing when I bought it. With Windows 7 this is fantastic. Change your setting to AHCI, install Windows 7 and you're in company. Supports Trim. Rates have continued to drop. Even so I have no regrets. Largest pc upgrade I've carried out in a while. It's extremely noticeable over a spindle drive. So far it has been reputable (that was was my major concern). I've had it about five months now, so I'm am optimistic about it's extended term life. Happy I purchased this above an Intel SSD. Most of the Sandforce drives are very comparable- this one is very good!

Read and compose speed. They actually shine with their significant file writes. 650mbs writes, 700mbs reads. Mushkin name/quality. None however. 3 of these in raid finding 700mb/s read and 650mb/s writes with big files. Little file not so excellent, but that's just the way it is.Can't truly tell the difference with daily use between these and first gen SSD's. I had 3 30GB OCZ Vertex drives in raid . I didn't obtain these for the enhance in read and compose speeds, just wanted much more space on my C drive. 90GB wasn't adequate, continuously had to purge to maintain a buffer. Fast drive, Created by Mushkin, Assembled in USA, Nevertheless has 34nm chips as an alternative of 25nm. Studied SSD drives and wanted a single of these. When they came back in stock I purchased one particular. Had it installed and operating in less then 30 minutes after delivery. Challenging to discover. Better obtain a single as quickly as they are available. Mushkin want to create a Toolbox for their drives. And if you don't fully grasp the difference in the 34nm and 25nm chips, do a little analysis and you will see that the 34nm are far better.

Rapidly when it performs. 1st one became invisible from BIOS following it brought on a BSD through the first batch of updates for Win 7. Following some head scratching and resetting of bios I managed to get the drive visible once again. It died permanent following one more BSD 2 hours later whilst putting in Visual Studio 2k10. I RMAed for replacement. Will see how the second drive fairs when it arrives tomorrow. At present operating my system off of a 30GB OCZ SSD I use as a backup.

Fast, decrease energy usage, no moving parts, puts off incredibly little heat. Basically all the usual pros of an SSD. Appears much faster than the Kingston SSDs I own. Sleep troubles with Macs. Doesn't function with the sleep function on a MacBook Pro. The drive can be put to sleep manually, but letting the computer go into deep sleep/hibernate mode causes issues. Apparently a dilemma with the older MacBook Pros, so not actually the drive's fault.

I primarily bought this poor boy for my audio workstation. It considerably lowered my all round DAW latency. It substantially improved general method R/W speeds as well. I contacted Mushkin with my pre-install queries and inside 24hr received a comprehensive response from Sean (ty once again m8). I had been reluctant until now to get with SSD; not since of value/gigabyte but rather since of having to do study on the "what's what". The actual expense to generate one particular of these compared to retail price. Nonetheless, that's the nature of new tech. The fact that a handful of "Tweaks" need to have to be produced in order for the drive to perform as it's rated was a bit annoying, but it IS NOT specifically associated to this drive, rather the OS possibilities that we could atm. General, this drive has established to be a worthwhile upgrade. Purchased two of these drives from Mushkin. Initially I had issues acquiring the overall performance advertised and Mushkin immediately sent me a replacement. I identified that if you basically format the drive when with Windows 7 prior to performing an install, the Read and Writes are crazy fast. But when taking a new drive that’s under no circumstances been formatted, (even although Win7 will do that during a new install) both reads and writes are regularly slower than advertised speeds. Seems nearly like an alignment factor that the initial install of Win7 wasn’t executing appropriately, but the full OS format worked. Same factor with each drives, so if you’re getting problems with slower than advertised speeds, attempt this just before sending it back. i Believed my pc was quickly ahead of...Now I load Win7 64 Ultimate in 13 seconds, Word 2010 opens as if it's minimized. I’ve had these drives for 3 months without having issue after I got passed the probable alignment issue I was experiencing Specific thanks to Nick Soutouras from Mushkin for all his help and speedy assistance.ASUS P6X58D i7 920. 24GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX275 Manufacturer Response:Glad I could enable! -Nick

This is an update to my prior assessment, and these drives are excellent! To "Jason", I would have to say it is your Adaptech controller causing the difficulties, as I have 4,in Raid-, and have run them on Intel's ICH9 and ICH10 controllers (onboard), with no difficulties at all.As for Mushkins consumer service, they are leading notch. I've RMA'ed there items (memory) ahead of, and they are quick and friendly. Easy to perform with, if you comply with there directions. My 1 and only RMA was completed in much less than 2 weeks, plus they upgraded my RMA to a far better line, for no cost! A extremely rapid SSD for reads and initial at writes. Trim performs fantastic on ICH9M and ATTO only looses 3 MB/s more than advertised speeds so effectively within tolerances.CMD with aligned 00 or FF data shows 4k Q32 at more than 50,000 IOPS, once more extremely fast drive at advertised values. See warning beneath but over 30,000 IOPS with randomized information.Real Globe boot up, apps and just about everything just flies at the click of the mouse. As an OS and program drive this does not disappoint at all. You will never want a standard HDD once again right after using this.Having the desktop ready and usable at its really fast look is very addictive. Clicking open a system is not significantly slower than the second time opening it when it is cached to ram. Do not list value as a con, you bought a SSD and knew what you have been buying!SandForce SF-1200's have an concern with compressed information. For this explanation it loses an egg. If you do allot of writes with image, video or music files that are already compressed the controller slows the NAND to preserve it. On a fresh drive you will get 140 MB/s write but on a well applied drive it auto cripples down to 80 MB/s or lower though ATTO with aligned data stays continual and up to speed each in read and write. The cure is to wait an impossibly lengthy time, I waited 60 hours logged off with no improvement, or do a secure erase and reimage from backup. You then get the complete speed writes back.Mushkin said this is all controlled in firmware so possibly there is hope in the future for SF-1200's If this is your only drive SandForce might not be the way to go. That is if you plan to retailer and work on images video or music in the drive space. This can more than time severely cripple the drive with current firmware. If you have to safe erase PartMagic CD image is the simplest way to go. Less than a minute following boot it was accomplished, reloaded the image and very good to go.DO NOT RUN CMD with default random data or AS SSD as a benchmark on these drives. The extremely uncompressible data will kick the NAND slowdown algorithm in really quickly. Be wary of any benchmark that makes use of uncompressible data as you will be asking for a premature slowdown.Keep in mind 80 MB/s or even 60MB/s is nevertheless not that slow but it isn't what you expect from a SSD. So take this with the grain of salt it is written with.Lastly, this is a drive I would place in a machine for my mom to use. Every little thing performs including TRIM. So I do have a bit of self-confidence in it and Mushkin.
