Nice board, lots of characteristics, steady, onboard video is a 4.five Aero and five.2 on the Enterprise and Gaming index on Windows 7. Bios supports unlocked multiplier, bus speeds, voltage tweaks, saving custom configurations, and so forth... Like the PCIE slot configuration as well. 1 large (for me) CON: The Nvidia Core Calibration fails to successfully unlock the 4th core on the AMD Phenom II X3 720 CPU. It does unlock and post and appropriately reports a X4 20 cpu BUT blue screens on prime95 test.I'm testing with two of these CPU's and they Both unlock fine (pass prime95 test on all four cores) on a Gigabyte 785GX and a DFI 790FX motherboards.I set up a ticket at MSI asking them to investigate and they simply said they don't guarantee unlocking of cores. BUT with two CPU's that are steady with the 4th core unlocked on other boards I KNOW it's this board.I just wish they'd take benefit of my expertise and investigate. If I'm getting problems with this, I know other people would be too and think it's their CPU's when it's not. They advertise this as portion of their "Gaming Series" and I would feel that would consist of the potential to unlock 4th cores on Known Black Edition Phenom CPU's that other boards can unlock no dilemma. Like the board -- just obtaining 75% the overall performance I otherwise could be if I could get the 4th core to unlock and be stable.

Fantastic for what I bought it for, cheap SLi. It OC's properly, five bios profiles to save and load from. Adequate area from the Dimm slots to the cpu to place in a 120mm HTC cooler and load every single dimm socket. Only gave it 4 mainly because of the cons. Placing in two GTX 460 for SLi, covers the one particular Pci slot. PCI Express 2. x16, effectively positive, individually. In SLi, its only x8. I was under the impression that it would have been x16 NewwEgg offers you the impression it is, but look on the Manufactures Net web-site. It's only like a 2% hit, but its nevertheless a hit on efficiency. Also came with a faulty Sli bridge. It only took a 5 minute call for consumer service to take my info and send me a replacement. Greatest tech assistance I have identified with any manufacturer. I am happy with the purchase but after buying it and running all my benchmarking and tests was shocked when I opened up cpu-z to find out it was running the graphics cards at x8. When I bought it I was under the impression it was x16 because of the specs NewEgg gave.

Does what you would anticipate a motherboard to do.1 factor to note is that this card is made for overclocking, as it evident with the develop in switch on the board, and the a variety of bios settings it has. Built in graphics isn't incredible, but what did you anticipate? Just get an actual graphics card.

AM3 with SLI is nice.Attractive colour design and style.Very good bare bones board if you just want 2-way SLI.Bios update was easy. If you use two of the modern video cards then your other PCI slot will be covered and useless. The SLI bridge that came with the board was no excellent and triggered huge screen tearing in full screen games. I was pulling my hair out more than this until I identified a number of cases of the exact same instance on the internet mentioning that the SLI bridge was their dilemma. Most of these people had an MSI bridge too; so if you want this board for SLI, be ready to possibly come across a different bridge. Knocking two eggs since SLI was why I purchased this board and spending a week figuring out the supplied bridge was terrible soured the initial practical experience with my new rig.

Inexpensive SLI board, one of your limited (thanks NVIDIA) options if you want to go AMD CPU + NVIDIA GPUs in SLI.eSATA port, plenty of USB ports.Onboard graphics that actually only hold you off till you can get your new GPU in the mail. Also, Hybrid SLI is no longer supported by newer NVIDIA cards. That is, you can\'t use the onboard graphics to energy your desktop and switch on the dedicated GPU to play games. There seems to be a quick on my board in between the CPU energy socket and CPU socket. The motherboard won't turn on (doesn't even get to POST) if the CPU ATX power Ɣ-pin) is plugged in. When I disconnect the CPU power from the motherboard, it turns on just fine. AMD's Phenom II X6 processors will need to have a BIOS update prior to you can use them to their fullest. Fortunately, the motherboard will POST (and you can enter the BIOS) even if you have an old BIOS with an X6, so you don't want a spare older processor just to update the BIOS. Just load up the updater file and the new BIOS on a bootable USB drive and you're set.Unfortunate end to an otherwise economical SLI board.

Not a terrible price tag, has a ton of good functions which includes OC and core unlocking. Great size and space management. It did not like my AMD Phenom x6. At very first I was getting BSOD when attempting to installed Windows, so I flashed the BIOS to 1.three. I was able to set up Windows fine after that, so must be out of the woods appropriate? No, I kept obtaining random BSODs all over the location. I wasn't genuinely confident if it was the board for certain or not due to the fact it was a complete new develop. I ended up swapping out the board with a Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H and I have not had a single dilemma. Everything worked suitable out of the box. I've by no means utilised any MSI merchandise just before and I don't want to say I won't be working with them in the future, but this was absolutely not a great first encounter. It could have been a defective board, but I very confident that it was just not playing nice with my other hardware. Combined with the BSODs I was acquiring, it would also freeze on me as well. The primary explanation I didn't go below three eggs is simply because I actually don't think it's a bad board. I just consider it wasn't a fantastic choice for the other components I chose for my make. I've constantly been a fan of Gigabyte boards and they've never performed me incorrect, so I will probably stick with them, but I wouldn't say MSI lost a customer just from this a single expertise or something.

Came with every thing pictured, looks so new and shiney, I'm delighted when it operates but.. Randomly freezes (nothing moves, keyboard, mouse and so on, only way is to press reset button), from time to time for the duration of POST, windows boot up, at times in 2d apps like browsing, occasionally at desktop just sitting with no programs open, occasionally during gaming. Often random freezing, happens about -five times a day, somedays I'm lucky somedays not. Tried anything I know, new develop with brand new components, fresh windows install. Low value, two-way sli capable. AMD cpu, nvidia graphics.Easy overclock switch. Can't use PCI slot if working with two dual-slot gpu's. Not totally atx sized. HDMI, DVI, lots of usb ports and headers. Decent board if you want/need AMD cpu and Nvidia gpu combination. Bottom gpu covers only PCI slot. Technique won't post after changing oem cpu heat sink for CM Hyper 212+. Tried removing and re-installing all components. Attempted each ram module independently. Nevertheless wont post. MB lights up but practically nothing takes place. Reset CMOS, and nevertheless no luck. Guess I'll have to RMA this a single.

Does what a mobo should. Not a higher finish board but clearly ur not paying for 1 either. I do some mid-high level gaming and this works fine for me. Would have no issues recomending on the other hand there are a handful of cons. The position of the Sata ports is underneath most new larger video cards. But its just a minor inconvenience. I have had 2 of these boards and each "squeal", some claim its the aps but what ever it is is a tiny annoying. I have 5 fans which includes a top rated mount and they are fairly quiet but i nonetheless hear the squeal coming from the case over the noise of the fans. If im not gaming i generally leave some music on just to drown it out. So im knocking off an egg for that. My initial 1 i b ought in feb-march of 2010 and within six months the onboard nic went out. i didnt want to rma so just purchased a network card which meant i couldnt sli. but that was my terrible for not rma-ing. then last month my psu bit the dust and i went to a neighborhood store and grabbed a TT psu threw it in and poof if blew the board causing me to want one more a single. i liked it sufficient to get another one. was kinda hoping the squeal wouldnt show back up but meh.

It functions. It fit what I was interested in, and worked without having any hassles or trouble. Vibrant Blue LEDs. If I wanted my laptop to be a Christmas tree, I would have gotten on of these 'gamer' cases... I wanted a mother board that had on-board nVidia to help dual monitors for linux desktop usage. I have not employed additional video cards, so I don't know how effectively SLI works.

This board has worked flawlessly considering that the day I very first installed it. That was over a week ago. This is fairly substantially the cheapest motherboard that is AM3, DDR3, and SLI/Crossfire compatible, and is also created by a reputable firm. MSI tends to make fantastic, trustworthy motherboards and are on the similar level of excellent as the other motherboard manufacturing heavyweights. For the dollars, you can not go wrong with this board. It only will run SLI 8xǞx, not 16xቬx. From what I have been told the functionality lost due to this is only about 3%. This was not produced really clear from the onset, but it is not that large of a deal. The LEDs on this motherboard are extremely bright. I could have carried out with a additional subdued colour like dark red and a dimmer brightness level. With my gripes in thoughts the mobo is still a great purchase. My makeMSI NF750-G55 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD MotherboardAMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX640WFGMBOXEVGA 01G-P3-1450-TR GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5G.Skill 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Challenging Drive -Bare DriveASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEMOCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W ATX12V V2.two / EPS12VCOOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer CaseMicrosoft Windows 7 House Premium 64-bit

It operates and it comes with the sli bridge and an additional sata cable. It doesn't assistance usb three. or sata 6Gbps. It is fantastic for SLI/AMD setups, which is difficult to uncover motherboards for. Also, NVIDIA has spec for this chipset on their web page but they are incorrect. NVIDIA says it is DDR2 and has other actually old specs, but rest assured the specs quoted on newegg are appropriate.

Uncomplicated to function, has alot of possibilities, the overclocking is quite sweet too. I got this board along with a AMD four core CPU for Christmas. Threw everything in my brand new case and it worked. It worked for ten minutes. Immediately after two begin up's, the board died. I did all the trouble shooting i could, nothing at all. Don;t know if there's some other miracle repair, but nothing i tried worked. Isolated the board and checked my PSU. Operates excellent with most AM3 processors, just not mine. Initially puchased on the advertised guarantee it would unlock an AMD 550, and preserve it stable. Falsely advertised guarantee. Upon contacting MSI consumer assistance, it took eight days for them to speak to me, they told me "Do not attempt to unlock it." When I referred them to their advertisement, they stated it was a typo. Now I'm sitting on a very expensive mobo that is useless for it's bought use.

I got this open box, and I was quite content with how it worked with my pc. A lot of USB ports, and SLI compatibility to boot! I'm just super delighted to be in a position to use SLI with an AMD processor. The board is good for all you overclockers out there. Simple OC switches are appropriate on the board if you need it. I tried to unlock my Phenom II 555BE, and I know that both of the cores operate, but there is no choice to test every single locked core one at a time with NCC. I was kinda saddened by this, but go for a board with an ATI chipset if you want to unlock a dual core, due to the fact the possibilities of an unlock are higher with ACC. Nonetheless, I wanted SLI capability with no a hack, so its a trade off, genuinely... I also had a bit of difficulty obtaining my aftermarket heat sink on the processor since the socket was raised up a bit to higher on the mobo, but I managed...
