This Drive is rapidly! and might I say again this drive is Quick!Really Stable as well None I purchased this drive about six months ago soon after reading reviews about it and also doing some studying of its archetecture. it truly is two drives raided into one unit. I have had ZERO difficulties with it in a 3ghz quad core Mac Pro. I converted it to my boot drive and have loved it ever since. Boot instances are incredibly quickly and applications launch like lightning. It has not slowed down at all over time. I would reccommend it to anyone.

I initial bought this drive in June and it ran for around two weeks with no challenge. Shortly right after that I started to encounter problems when the BIOS was beginning up. During the SATA drive list the system would halt or slow down. Soon after troubleshooting this very a bit and replacing components (other than this hard drive) it under no circumstances really got any much better. Inside a week or so of this point, the drive failed to boot, even the BIOS failed to detect it. I tried it in numerous SATA to USB devices and even other machines, the drive was DOA. Newegg replaced the drive and the new drive worked from July of 2010 by way of December of 2010. I now uncover myself needing to RMA this drive with OCZ given that newegg only replaced the drive for 30 days, which is how extended it took the preceding drive to fail. Calling OCZ later nowadays to see how their RMA method will work out. In the imply time I assume I'll go ahead and order a Vital drive and hope I don't have the identical knowledge.

Rapidly - apps load too rapidly to time it. Lots of space - installed OS, all applications, all games, basically everything I had and nevertheless had space to add much more. Failed right after three month. Tried diverse SATA port/data cable/power cable, but nothing at all worked. Also tried loading "fail-safe" BIOS settings, that didn't support either. Three other storage drives (WD) perform just fine with the very same hardware and BIOS settings. Luckily, I created a total technique image just two days prior to that unfortunate occasion. Great habit...RMA with OCZ is currently in progress. Will update when I get the replacement drive. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the issue. Our support employees will see that you are taken care of.Thank you

Fast read time and load times. Technique all round more rapidly than with any available tough drive Terrible create times deteriorating with time. No distinction in modifying to ACHI or Raid.OCZ support is cluless on this drive. No useful information comes from their forum as it seems to be not high on their help list. Frankly its Raid hardware is useless. My ๥ Western Digital Sata three has twirce the create capability (but is all round not more rapidly simply because of the Colossus rapid read) Appear elsewhere for an SSD.Suspect my drive will fail soon as it generally causes the AHCI boot prom to hang. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the difficulties. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in the Flash/SSD section so we can assist you.Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Help Forums|

This drive released the potential of my workstation. Boot up time is extremely speedy. I use Solidworks 2009 and the efficiency raise is amazing. Had a little difficulty with the set up due to ATA vs AHCI conundrum. As soon as I'd switched to ATA all was great.

Want to update my assessment on this SSD. Even though the Windows Index is somewhat disappointing at 7.2 I am confident my install troubles were associated to a Windows7-64 bit networking issue with the Realtek adapter on my board. I will retain this SSD and I am impressed with its performance. It is currently a hardware RAID setup so thoughput is quite very good. Though not a real con this device can not be flash upgraded, nonetheless it does have built in Background Garbage Collection which seems to operate nicely. An upgrade seriously isn't vital.

My ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX recognized this drive ideal out of the box. I am running an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz over clocked to three.4 with G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 memory. Have Windows 7 x64 installed and from the windows commence window to desktop requires 20 sec.I have constructed numerous computers over the years and have in no way noticed a single this fast. Thanks to this SSD drive. None so far. I went with the 128gb drive as I have many external tricky drives so don't will need the space. The value was in my budget range, but hope they come down soon. I will start off placing them in new laptop or computer that I sell if they get additional reasonably priced.

Have had this drive for a week. Read scores are excellent and Win7 loading instances outstanding. Create occasions are not very good. Win7 Efficiency Index is way below common at 7.2.Worse is that putting in significant programs brings technique to a halt. Took more than 1 hour to install Acronis B&R 齠MB). No company can function like this.Working with in GA-EX38-DS4 as C drive. OS is Win7 64 bitHave performed all the recommendations recommended by OCZ. OCZ recommended sending it back for replacement, but suspect this performance is related to controller in SSD.Sadly, this drive cannot be updated by firmware.Bummer. Manufacturer Response:Hello, while we do sell more rapidly drives, it does sound like your installation time is excessive. We do recommend an RMA for a replacement. If you make a decision to do so, please take a look at the link beneath and produce a support ticket to get in touch with our staff.Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Support Page|

The disks are wonderful! I've got two tied in as RAID0 and my machine is basically flying. All of my Apps and Games load super swift. I'm in love. I initially ordered one of these drives, then I decided I would order one more a single. Each occasions I paid for expedited shipping, and they each and every took additional than a week and a half from the time they began processing the order, (One of them even just sat in 'Processing' for three complete enterprise days!) just before I had them in my hands. With the amount of dollars I've spent and _had_ intended on spending right here, this is unacceptable!

No stutter in loading apps Wow, did you seeeeee the pricetag? This replaced my 1st SSD, a SuperTalent I've had for a year now. It was a decent SSD, especially for the cost, but it's transfer rate was not excellent. Replacing it with this has accomplished the trick.

This thing is a monster, I get a solid 220MB/sec and up sequential read/write. No stuttering. Confident it's pricey but it's a HIGH Finish solid state disk that's 120GB which is far more than enough to deal with all my apps/games with my other 30GB SSD for the OS and my mechanical drives for movie/mp3/etc storage. It even comes in three.five format so it fits in to your conventional Hard disk bay. Have not noticed any at all. And I will not list price as a con simply because this factor is worth each penny. I own a 30GB OCZ Vertex which houses my OS and delivers amazing performance and not even that factor is practically as rapid as my 120GB Colossus.
