Quite quick. No issues with Windows 7 Expert set up on Dell Vostro 1500. RMA with OCZ was fairly painless. The replacement has lasted over a month so far. Died soon after 33 days. Had some strange errors and then was entirely undetected by BIOS. I have owned three OCZ SSDs (all in unique machines):OCZ Agility - seemed to be failing - no longer utilisedOCZ Agility two - died after 33 days - replacement has lasted 38 days so farOCZ Vertex two - died immediately after 57 days - RMA in progressThese OCZ drives are super rapidly. 1. Outstanding RMA service (New Egg), other than the personal price to ship and packaging - see Con. two. Drive particularly quick with space that was necessary. Packaging of RMA'd drive drive rec'd was much less than expected. Inexpensive bubble mailer. Only 4 stars at this point. I'll leave the 5th star for for a evaluation down the road which will be dpendent on drive life.Overlly satisified with the speed and installation of the drive. Disappointed at the loss of expense savings due to 1st drive RMA shipping expenses.From 1 to four I would cuurently recoomend this drive at this time, but would strongly urge OCZ to do a much better job of Good quality Handle prior to release. |

Improved my Windows Encounter Disk score from 5.9 to 7.7.System boots in under twenty seconds and applications load instantaneously. A real productivity booster! Wasn't free of charge. Doesn't make me breakfast. |

Rapid when it worked but not as substantially as would have expected. Died right after a month and half of low usage. Very disapointed. Was expecting to add reliability to my pc given that there are no moving parts compared to regular drive. This technologies is not sufficient mature to be installed on mission important Computer. I've had to reinstall my old drive that i was using as backup. I don't recommand this item. |

Rapid and silent. Boot instances went from 1ᛚ to 50 seconds. Applications load considerably more rapidly and some games appear to transition quicker with shortened level load instances. Lots of space. Operating fine for 3 months so far. 1) Cost.two) As some have stated, it's poor when you are waiting for the day that your Computer won't boot and you have the box standing by for an RMA. That anticipation isn't pleasant.3) Not as rapidly as I believed it would be.4) Not a plug & play replacement. Requires a lot of tweaking to get the ideal efficiency and lifetime. - This is utilised as an OS/Programs/Games drive in a desktop with a 1TB Caviar Black as a data drive.- My boot time comparison is not exact as I was forced to re-install Win7 in order to get the partition alignment appropriate. I was hoping to just use Acronis to image the WD and restore to the SSD but it was not to be. Apparently partition alignment is a lot more essential for SSDs over spinners.- Requires a lot of tweaking. Though the process IS considerably snappier the time I spent "getting it ideal" will take some time to spend for itself. Gosh. What is the rebate process supposed to be if not a enhance to sales? The drive essentially performs as advertised in Win7 x64(See other thoughts). I had a WEI of five.9 with a 300 GB Velociraptor which enhanced to a 6.9 with a 128 GB SSD (TRIM) and then lastly to a 7.five (Sandforce controller) with this drive. I nevertheless have 147 GB of the 223 GB (See other thoughts) and can't think about needing anything bigger for my Major/OS/Boot drive. Bottom line with this SSD and any other mod that expenses this substantially $ is that IT Alterations your whole Pc encounter. reasonably rapidly, cool-running, energy-saving in my MacBook Pro Pc-only firmware upgrading and apparently only with direct connection to motherboard. Anxiousness over reports of drive failures. Installed in a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15in 2.53GHz 6GB RAM. Boot time is approx 60 sec which is a 20 - 30s improvement over the original HDD time. Not receiving the 25 sec boots other individuals have reported right here and elsewhere but this could be connected to my possessing far more than one bootable partition on the drive. However, applications load instantaneously and run swiftly. The MBPro runs a lot cooler and battery life has improved by up to 50 percent. Benchmarking read and write instances reveals speeds in the range of 190MB/s on my setup which is off the rated max speeds but I am satisfied. I attempted to update the firmware on a Pc prior to installation but OCZ's tool for this process would not recognize the drive when installed in an external enclosure via USB or FW. I did not bother to open the Pc for a direct connect to the mobo as I did not have the appropriate cable. Performing well for eight days now but a bit nervous about reports of failures at four-six wks. Likely add 5th egg if drive lives /OCZ adds far better Mac assistance |

Wicked fast access speeds Failed right after 80 hours of use - totally non-recoverable Installed this drive in a relatively new laptop and got Fedora up and running, got every thing set up like I wanted it - powered it down to head home for the night... Powered it up a handful of minutes later to take care of anything that I had forgotten and got "Disk not found" errors from the BIOS. Went through all of the typical troubleshooting actions - the drive is dead - less than 80 hours of life and it died! OCZ tech assistance was not very valuable - stating that if it doesn't show up in the BIOS there is absolutely nothing that can be carried out - return it. None at this point. DOA out of box. First item that did not perform from New Egg and my initial critique, even even though I've possibly purchased a handful of thousand dollars worth of equipment from this reliable dealer.I at present personal two other SSD drives (other brands) 128 MB in size more than a year with out any hiccups and decided to upgrade due to applications, speed, and so forth. and opted for OCZ. Don't know why I waivered from the other brand, but believed I'd give OCZ a try. I'v'e RMA'd this drive this evening and will be mailing it back to California from the east coast tomorrow. The true test will be to see how rapidly it will take New Egg to replace the defective drive (delivery) and if and how long the other drive will function. Encounter w/ computers you may well ask? I'm so old, I can keep in mind when IBM's 1st computer took up a city block and actually went to to see it. :) |

Drive installed incredibly swiftly. I applied Ghost to make a downsized copy of my current drive. Had to send off for a second connector, but that is (cheap) HP's fault, not the drive. Ghost took about 2.five hours, and I was up with the quick drive. Windows "experience" went from five.6 to 7.five. PowerPoint files which took 6 seconds to load are now instantaneous. Windows boots in about 15 seconds. So far, outstanding. Not a con, but a caution. Diskeeper wants to be replaced with a new version from them that especially handles SSD drives. Use of the old diskeeper theoretically shortens the life of the SSD. Doing this without having Ghost is like a new install. Doing this with Ghost is superb, simple, and rapidly. |

This drive is extremely rapid. I installed it in my macbook pro. The machine boots up in under 25 seconds and shuts down in only 2 seconds. Programs open instantaneously. None so far. I'm writing this evaluation right after a complete day of use of this drive. Some of the other reviews complained of the drive being DOA or failing immediately after very tiny use. So far this drive has worked as expected. I took the opportunity with this drive due to the fact I know that a lot of instances the only people that write critiques are the ones that have a undesirable knowledge. My encounter with this drive has been fantastic so far. I will be sure to come back and alter this review if I start out to knowledge problems. |

No troubles fitting or showing up in my Alienware M17 R1. Doesnt seem to bench as rapid as advertised speeds but that may possibly be due to the older controller in my system, (only finding about 219-221mb/sec read. This drive is incredibly quick. I put this into my 17" MBP, and times for anything has decreased. Booting, Time Machine, running VMs, updates, everything. 12 seconds from power button push (not just the boot chime) and I am at login. three far more seconds to full desktop. I am nonetheless incredibly happy I did it. My iTunes and iPhoto libraries combine at 350gb on my Mac Pro, so I don't have a full duplication of my desktop Mac. Battery life is hovering around 4.fiveӱ hours which is an hour or so less than before. I have been so pleased with the SSD that I believed I would try the Seagate XT 500gb Hybrid drive in a Mac Mini Server ) that came with 2 5400rpm 500gb drives. Right after cloning the existing technique (SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner - get it and donate!) I booted a couple of times. On the 5400rpm drive power on to Dropbox mount was 94 seconds, on the 3rd boot to the Seagate it was 58 seconds. I will have to ascertain a better finish point for the boot because the dropbox thing is network and net influenced. Bottom line on that one is that If I am headed off on a vacation with the laptop, I may well swap drives to carry a full load of media, swap back when I am back household working with it for function. |

Reasonable price (for a major SSD). Simple to install in my unibody Macbook Pro. Sandforce controller. Quite, extremely quickly. A clean install of 10.6.5 gave me 12 second boot instances. It's nonetheless a bit pricey if you don't need to have the speed. When I began adding apps and extension it started slowing down - now 14 seconds to a full boot. Apps launch virtually instantaneously. Right after two days, I am happy I bit the bullet. Only time will tell about it's reliability. |
