* Decent value* Benchmarked nicely for the small time it was steady. * Corrupted two Win7 installations inside three hours of use* Controller ultimately stopped talking to BIOS (on m4500 and in external enclosure) Returned to NewEgg for replacement, out of stock and refunded. Going with the equivalent X-25 and a brand I trust (more, at least). Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are really sorry for the dilemma. We care about our buyers and are pleased that you have discovered a appropriate solution. Thank you

Unbelievable performance. I purchased three and installed them in a RAID Array. No particular configs, just straight set up. I was in a position to restore a regular program image (using Windows 7 Backup and Restore) that I took on my previous array and install and restore the image straight more than with only 1 hw detection change and reboot. I had previously installed a RAID array of three Raptors and then went to 3 Disk RAID 5. Perfomance among the two was negligible. Now a 3 SSD RAID Array is virtually like an instant on and launch expertise. Unbelievable. Really Pricey.

Rapidly, spacious for an SSD. Operating my second RMA right now. Got this as an upgrade for a first-generation 64GB Vertex drive. I've gone via two so far, since of eventual white screens of death on my MacBook Pro. The very first one went in and out for a week or so ahead of giving me nothing at all but the white screen. The second 1 took down my OS (Arch Linux at the time) one element at a time: the browser crashed and wouldn't restart, KDE elements started disappearing, and when I tried to switch to a different screen to log in as root, it couldn't locate the account. Switched back to KDE and far more and much more if it died until I had only a cursor and a black screen. Popped in the original 64GB drive and all was superior. While the 200GB drive was up, it was exceptionally quickly. There's nothing at all else to say, due to the fact it's just a magic black box: no heat, no vibration. I should most likely give it fewer than 4 stars, but my 64GB version has been such a workhorse I'm giving OCZ the benefit of the doubt.

Quite rapid with effortless install Was detected as Sandforce 25gb in the bios, then corrected itself to show Vertex 200gb. After 3 weeks it was no longer detected by the bios AT ALL. I contacted OCZ but no response. I'm certain they'll answer to the feedback with some Bull. I nonetheless replaced it with the same hoping it will not fail again. If it does I'll give Corsair a shot. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we aplogize for the problem. If you made a assistance ticket at the link beneath, our staff will be with you soon. We will see that your requirements are taken care of. No bull, ThanksExternal Link(s): OCZ Assistance Page|

This thing is fast, no doubt. Windows boots promptly, apps like Firefox launch quickly. Storage size is fantastic, however I have a NAS to backup and retailer significant files that don't want the speed. Price tag of course, that is what removes 1 egg. Shouldn't have spent this considerably but it need to final a lengthy time. Doesn't use SATA III, nonetheless my present board doesn't assistance it anyway. Would have been nice to future proof. I was worried because I have utilised a few older SSD's and was never ever truly impressed. They didn't help TRIM and so on and had slow write rates. None of that is an issue with this drive so I am happy with it.

Windows 7 64bit will load to a usable state in 12 seconds.Sandforce Controller, Supports TRIM. Cost. Benchmarking reveals 283MB/s to 321MB/s reads and 114MB/s to 194MB/s writes. Strangely enough the greater speeds had been from the real globe benchmarks.
