Right after the hardware finishes initializing and the windows icon appears. It takes 2 seconds just before the desktop is up and totally prepared. Each plan loads instantly when you press the icon. It is like obtaining a new personal computer. On Windows 7 when we had the personal computer hibernating, the drive would fail shortly after waking up. Considering that cancelling hibernation it hasn't failed when.Computer: Dell Dimension 9200 / XPS 410 This drive was the 1st definitely noticeable improvement from an upgrade that I've had in a while.

Incredibly quickly. Rather painless set up, essentially. Put the drivers on a jump drive, for the duration of Win7 64 bit install utilized them.Least expensive of the X2 Revo drives.Boots Win7 64bit in about 17 seconds or so.Fresh Win7 64bit install, up to date, with a couple various games installed to test, it was quite quickly. Load instances just about nonexistent. Programs pop up extremely rapidly. Price tag. Though, possibly worth it.Storage. 100GB is either not its accurate capacity, or perhaps Win7 64Bit uses a lot a lot more than I thought it did. With just a basic install, windows updates all run up to date, and just a couple games installed to test a video card, I was already down to among 40 and 50 GB absolutely free space. I am utilizing this as main boot drive, and have 1 TB to install all applications on so I don't fill this a single up.I also worry about longevity, SSDs and all that. It's quick. Silent. EVGA FTW3 motherboard with HD 6970 card, no difficulties with set up or run.I purchased it simply because of great reviews I'd read, but the others had been too expensive. Went with the reduced 100GB x2 version. It was a gamble. I don't know how lengthy it will final or how significantly it may possibly add to program functionality. The debate rages on.I disabled the swap on the SSD and place it on my 1TB HDD. I want to retain this about for several years so am attempting to reduce unneeded writing as substantially as feasible.

Picked up two of these for various platforms, and have excellent outcomes. Initially drive went on a EVGA classy3. Right after acquiring the drivers off the web page, and applying a little logic inside the BIOS. I had a comprehensive instal in half the time. Second went into a ASUS p6x58d-p, took a small additional believed/work but up and running. Both boot into windows in below 30seconds, Excellent response time, with little to no "sticks" in between. Asus method is setup as a server platform. IT CAN AND DOES help the RAID function making use of the ICH10R s.bridge chipset!! Server method continues to help five WD caviar blacks in RAID5 with out a fuss. The EVGA machine, just contains a modest SSD RAID array for app/render. Value, No trim assistance, compatibility problems nevertheless present for some. Earlier Sandforce Controllers, figured with it becoming the X2- they would have changed it more than to the 1222 Controller of the 1000- no biggie though not a massive dif. between the two in genuine world scenaros. I discovered setup, and general user expertise to be a lot more fluid on the EVGA side. As stated, it took a small fuss, but did in truth perform with the ASUS. All round I assume a drive like this still has some significant maturing to do, Def. not for a beginner, would def. say DO YOUR Analysis Initially- look before you leap!

Overall performance and so on... N/A - please study meticulously next time you post a response Please study my critique once more, in particular the "CONS" section. I say specifically that the revodrive is NOT compatible with some motherboards In particular ASUS (sabretooth)As you can see (again, if you read meticulously) I posted MY MOTHERBOARD and how to make the revodrive perform with it. This in no way implies that's the procedure for all motherboards out there and I in no way stated as such. You're the a single misleading other people here.Presently, I'm running two 480gtx's in sli, 4x2tb HD's in Raid 10, 2x150gb HD's in Raid + this revodrive and have no troubles whatsoever.

Fastest drive/SSD you can buy.Particularly straightforward set up on newer hardware, but beware with Sandy Bridge chipsets (PCIe lanes are shared and can run into conflicts). You CAN RAID10 this if you want to, as the OCZ forum has some Database admins performing just that.No cable requirements.Runs cool.DEAD SILENT! (bye bye all spinning media) Several will say price - but if you are already hunting here you know this cost is affordable for the level of overall performance you acquire.Only con is the setup - you might get a defective array out of the box - this is most likely NOT A DOA unit, go into bios and disable every single additional peripheral/port till the revo posts correctly, then reactivate one at a time only your most essential or employed things. You should be just fine. Really rapid. Like the throughput. None I was concerned when I read some reviews saying that it would not work with a Sabertooth board, video card, and modem. I have a Sabertooth board with two GTX 295's and the revodrive in the third PCIe slot. Not a single BSOD or concern.

As other individuals have said, this point is quickly, so rapidly that I'm capable to run 3 Windows Server 2008 VM's at a time on the very same drive utilizing VMware workstation. You can't do that with a normal tricky drive. Immediately after partitioning and formatting you only have about 60GB free of charge based on what OS you opt for. This limits the quantity of VM's I can run on the drive but I'll happily opt for speed more than capacity any day. Due to the fact it utilizes its personal RAID controller the HDD activity light on my case won't light up when it is accessed like a typical tough drive would. I suppose this is one thing motherboard makers can repair with a BIOS update.

I set it up to be the boot drive. Windows 7 install had no problem. Supplied directions had every little thing i necessary.Really fast boot time. The CAD application I am employing it on is tremendously enhanced. None.Because it makes use of a pciX bus, I do not see any raid capabilities, but it does not claim to. Since I knew there had been compatility issues, I went with the Asus P8P67 Deluxe. I saw that it was used in the "Falcon Northwest Mach V" reviewed in MaximumPC.That was the only purpose used that Mobo, but I like the I am pleased with it beyond the compatibility.

fast not as effortless or reliable as a regular single tricky drive nt300, the Revodrive is produced with Sandforce 1200 controllers, so it must have Background Garbage Collection built in, which does the identical factor as TRIM.

- - Just wanted to add to my earlier review that if you have other RAIDs in your method and want to install the REVO as the bootable OS hd, you just have to disable (or set them to IDE if you still require the DVD drive) the other RAID's controllers in the bios and disconnect the drives for the time getting. Immediately after you're performed installing the os, you can reconnect the drives and enable the controller in bios, just make confident the REVO is the ONLY bootable device on the list in bios.

-Rapid-Quick-Did I mention quickly?-silent-nice blue led's -unless you know what you're doing, this is not for you-not a "straightforward" installation, every little thing depends on your setup-not compatible with all motherboards (especially Asus) -Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the BIOS for your MB. I have a GA-EX58-UD4P motherboard and with the stock bios, win7x64 installation would not go through and would create all various sorts of BSoD's. Flashed the Bios with version .14o (follow the link on OCZ forum) fixed the challenge.-Disable the internal floppy controller just before you commence win7 installation, you can allow it later.-you have to disable all SATA/RAID controllers you have on the mobo, you can allow it following win7 install. The RAID will not be damaged if you unhook the hd's and disable it in bios. BIOS update WILL NOT update the RAID controller setup (at least on my mobo)-The revodrive shows up as "SCSI Revo" a thing device on the list of bootable devices. MAKE Confident that is the only bootable device on the list. Disable anything else. Initial time you need to boot from the WIN7 DVD, just hit F12 or F10 depending on your mb to choose the bootable device.-Have the revo Win7 drivers ready for win7 setup

Nothing else to say but Super Rapidly and Win 7 x64 boots up bloody quick. Install your games on this buppy and it loads up crazy quick... - High-priced...- No trim Support...- Errors though trying to run some apps & such... I hate the truth OCZ doesn't offer you Trim Support for these super rapid super pricey drives. I may well really properly return them and get a newer revision, perhaps a OCZ RevoDrive X3 when it comes out so long as it supports Trim.

good boot time, worked properly with my older EVGA 780i and updated BIOS of P10. with no fans or moving parts...no sound, 1 much less concern to hear fromworking with the stripping now to see what is the ideal size but so far, its enjoyable straight out of the box and if you really wanted too, you could just run the card as is. going to attempt it in a new 1366 i7 board I believe this week. Cost hurt a bit but thats personal. Nothing actually wrong with the card for me this round. I had the initially version which was DOA from the retailer twice, which has brought on me to be concerned a bit about this unit simply from past history. So far via the X2 unit has preformed with no a glitch.

Promised speed Does not work with ASUS Sabertooth MB (latest BIOS).The setup does not permit for simultaneous Intel RAID 10 over four TB F3 Samsung HD for storage AND the Revo X2 as boot drive at the exact same time.Only way to get REVO X2 to be listed as a bootable device is to disable the Intel RAID (delta to ACHI), only then does the Sabertooth show the SI raid controller in REVO X2 as a prospective bootable device. If the REVO is so incompatoble with over 10% of all MB there need to be a Major WARNING LABLE some where to advise as such. Also noted that MB provides this message at POST towards the end "No enough space to copy PCI selection ROM ⎓ᚨᚨ]".

Cons: slow downs and pauses on X58 chipset

Pros: NONE, total garbage
Comment:
well a very common issue on OCZ's website, pauses all the time, slows right down if multitasking, sure benchmarks are very fast but that is it, once you do real world test it gets overloaded, it is the worst SSD ever made, all OCZ pcie SSD's are, look on OCZ's forums many, many problems with them. I went to INTEL SATA 3 SSD and like 100 times faster than this.

Incredibly, really quick. Amazingly quickly. The rumors about booting in 30 seconds or less are true.Photoshop in seconds. BUT...... BSODs pretty much every other day. Hibernate sleep problems. Internal Power errors. Essential Object termination. You name it. BTW, my previous method drive, an intel SSD x25M, never had a BSOD. Install this baby, my background seems to be that BSOD blue. There is no support from OCZ. It's a forum where "sometimes" a mod will answer, most times its the sound of crickets chirping. When you do get a response, it's yet another poor buyer saying, I have this difficulty too.For such an high priced drive, you'd think they'd at least answer. It need to be they just don't have an answer.Hint: Don't ever wait to install a drive when you get it. If I had recognized this, I would have returned it to Newegg. This is like a temperamental, finicky, unreliable Ferrari. Don't trust it as you main drive.
