Massive, bright, a lot of connectivity choices. The adjustable stand functions really effectively. Developed a bright green stuck pixel in the middle of the screen immediately after about a week of use. Doesn't qualify for replacement. Have tried running pixel "exerciser" applications for several days devoid of any luck. I have at least 30 affordable Dell monitors around the office without any pixel difficulties. Can't think a 躔 monitor has a terrible pixel. I haven't come across an LCD with a undesirable pixel in years. The huge red stripe across the bottom frame makes this point appear like a Sony VCR from the 80's, but what ever. Not LED - and puts off a ton of heat. If not for the pixel difficulty this monitor would be fairly exceptional. But as it is, I can't suggest it to any person. Not worth the risk. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client,We apologize for the problem you're experiencing with your display creating a bright dot. The PA246Q now carries a ZBD (Zero Vibrant Dot) policy. I've created case quantity 1203508 for you with regards to this situation. Please contact us at 812-282-2787 and offer the case quantity above so that we can offer you with an RMA number.Sincerely,ASUS Help Group

Low price for an IPS panel.Extremely great color accuracy.1920 x 1200 resolution.On-screen grid overlay. All types of input. Absolutely nothing so far. I had been hunting for a excellent IPS panel that didn't expense a fortune. Though I was somewhat reluctant to obtain such a new item, I decided to take a likelihood primarily based on the great reputation of other Asus monitors. Upon startup I was promptly struck by the color and detail compared to the Tn panel that I had been working with. Loaded the AdobeRGB profile and went into Photoshop. Compared various higher top quality prints to the screen show and colors had been right on.

Superior picture quality to any LCD I've ever utilized. The Colour representation is spot on and after working on some photos and sending them off to Bay Photo for lab prints, the colour management is great. If you're a photographer serious adequate to use a color management method, this is a wonderful monitor for the income. You even get stereo output for computer speakers if you connect the monitor to your pc working with the HDMI or Show Port (presumable, I do not use and can\'t confirm DP sound). A small much less cable mess to worry aboutThere are no dead or hot pixels. The monitor does pivot for portrat or landscape work, although I've only utilized landscape. The manual and documentation in basic is horrible. There is a color profile that comes on the installation disk for the monitor, but no mention of what color profile on the monitor (monitor menu program) ought to be utilised with supplied color profile or how best to configure your system for greatest colour management. Ultimately, by means of trial and error in Photoshop, I determined that with the color profile installed in Windows the monitor and colour managed software should be set to sRGB to get correct colors. Simple test I employed, I put the monitor and Adobe in aRGB and then loaded a photo taken in aRGB on my Sony a850 camera into Photoshop and then did a convert to color space sRGB. The colors shift visibly performing this. On the other hand, if I select sRGB color space in Photoshop, sRGB on the monitor, and install the colour profile in windows, the colors do not shift when altering the photo back and fourth from sRGB to aRGB and additional importantly, my lab prints from Bay Photo are spot on. Points that would actually make this monitor stellar... A lot more USB ports (only has two USB2 ports). USB3 ports, because all new Computer's have USB3 ports. The menu system could be a bit additional intuitive, but that’s a minor nit, as when set, no need to revisit. The monitor has PIP (picture in image) exactly where a smaller region of the screen can be committed to 1 of the other inputs (DVI, HDMI, Show Port). For some that might be handy, but to me, and I believe most people, sort of useless. The stand is not the ideal hunting but it is functional.ASUS advertises aRGB for this monitor, even though the colour management profile seems to work with sRGB. Unless a person can appropriate my testing logic above. I cannot speak for the aRGB capabilities of this monitor.Compared with my old Dell moinitor, the ASUS wins hands down. I often felt like I was gambling when I sent photos off for print so I was reluctant to commit to a big order. That won't be a issue any longer as the ASUS provides me self-assurance.

Great, accurate color. Wide gamut doesn't make colors glow as soon as you turn down the saturation. Extremely flexible color settings in User Mode for precise calibration. Quick sufficient for gaming. Low resolution games scaled nicely without having getting blurry. Very good black levels with no black crush! No dead pixels! No aggravating anti-glare coating. Delivered in one day by Newegg with no added shipping cost! As with all midrange IPS panels the left side has a quite slight blue tint even though the proper has a reddish tint. It's only visible on neutral backgrounds and isn't going to bother anybody except these seeking for one hundred% panel uniformity. There is some "IPS glow" as well, when again standard for these panels. It's much better than some I've noticed on eIPS panels.Way as well vibrant and saturated out of the box. Dynamic contrast only works in Theater mode. Most of the controls are unavailable in something but User mode. The controls are impossible to see in low light.Has a red stripe across the front from 1989. LOL. Compared to my Doublesight DS263N (S-IPS), old blurry CRT, and Panasonic plasma this monitor beats them all except for the plasma's black levels. On Lagom's tests there was no banding on 99% of the photos, and the blacks and whites had been all visible. The gamma is close to 2.two out of the box. It's basically best except for the default brightness and saturation.I assume this is the best monitor on the industry for the cost proper now. It's not just great for graphics, it's fantastic for games and films too. The only other one that comes close is the Dell U2410. If you don't require excellent color or 1920x1200 resolution you could save your self 赨 and get an eIPS panel.

Pros: Beautiful colors, no glare, solid build, no issues in gaming, (not a serious gamer), real buttons, great connectivity. Doesn't talk.

This is a quality monitor, I did a lot of research and returned a few pieces of crap that were half the price or less, if you spend a grand or more on your system and want to cheap out on a monitor, I think it's a waste of time and money. I am blown away at the color reproduction in photos, I am definitely going to have to upgrade my Nikon , it's four years old. I love quality products and am just your average joe that won't go cheap on tools or electronics. If you buy this monitor you will never go back to non ips.

This thing is simply lovely. Almost everything looks so a lot additional colorful, wealthy... grabbing an IPS panel more than a 3D monitor was so worth it. Games look good.Lots of unique alternatives and customizing of alternatives, such as a nifty on-screen grid. The card reader and USB slots are a nice bonus too. Normal mode can be a genuine retina burner. This sucker is Vibrant. Truly Vibrant. Even in the other modes (sans theater), it's nonetheless fairly vibrant. Going to my homepage (Google) practically blinded me when I 1st hooked it up.However, devote ten-15min calibrating it (adjusting the brightness, largely; mine was perfectly calibrated short of that), and you'll be golden. UPS will need you to sign for this in individual need to you select it. This bothered me given that I wasn't property the 1st time they delivered it, and I was unaware there was an choice to have to sign it in person (and be more than 21yrs old).Imagine my surprise when I signed the back of the slip and was left one more slip.Anyway, as worried as I was about my monitor bouncing around at the truck, and persons playing with it at the warehouse, I am content to say there had been ZERO dead pixels.Just wanted to give a heads up to persons who order this.

I had used TN Panels for the best part of the last 10 years mostly playing games, movies and work. This is what a real LCD panel is supposed to look like. Vs other IPS panels this one doesn't use dithering like the low cost 6 bit panels, and has less anti-glare coating then other professional screens designed to be in a florescent lit office.

You pay for quality and this is a well built IPS monitor. The colours are rich and the response is great. It has such large real estate in terms of screen size. I'm able to have my IDE on one side and any research on the opposite side for programming.Gaming is find, and I haven't noticed any ghosting or tearing. I'm a bit of an eco nut, so I cringe at the power consumption, however, I guess that's expected from an IPS.The colours are accurate enough for me that when I work with photography the prints do come out fairly close. My old LCD was way off and caused all my prints to have a reddish tint. The stand is extremely sturdy. It doesn't feel like this monitor will tip. It's also quite handy to have the pivot stand, however, I have yet to do any work that requires a portrait orientation.I highly recommend this to anyone interested in a starter IPS.

Purchased this on great faith given Asus's track record and the 3 year warranty and am very pleased. Looks great right out of the box and has a number of presets such as sRGB emulation for those who don't genuinely want the wide Gamut for photography. Viewing angles are best notch, low contrast shift for an IPS (although not fairly as excellent as an Lacie A-TW Polarizer model). No dead pixels or backlight bleeding on mine, although that can't definitely be assumed as a given until quite a few evaluations come in. Pricey, 贄 far more than HP and Dell 24" IPS models. I do think the premium is worth it although if you spend more than 2 hours a day searching at a screen. Light and thin! Considerably thinner than older IPS screens like the NEC WUXI line.

I was upgrading from a 17" 1280x1024, and didnt want to have a lower ppi than that. This 24" 1920x1200 has practically the very same precise ppi as a the 17", so my icons, taskbar, etc all stayed physically the very same size.Colors are superior than the 17". Also, the viewing angle is good. The colors dont alter depending on viewing angle like a TN panel. When watching movies in bed, I utilised to have to tilt the 17" all the way down and I still wasnt at an optimal angle; now its no longer an issue. The stand is amazing. I cant picture the stand getting any far better. The screen does not wobble whatsoever. Adjusting it is painless. Not a single hot or dead pixel. Been utilizing this about three weeks now. I wish it would do at least 70Hz at 1920x1200, but it only goes to 60Hz. The highest resolution it will do at 75Hz is 1280x1024, and it wont do anything at 75Hz with a 16ᚲ aspect ratio.I notice screen tearing watching movies and playing games. Even so, I also get screen tearing on my 23" TN panel at perform, so not sure if this is just a fact of life proper now. And Im also on Linux, and I may well not be running an optimal v-sync setupMaybe not the ideal monitor for quickly paced gaming. 6ms GTG is great for an IPS panel, but is a small slow for an actual gaming monitor. I play a game called Urban Terror which is very rapid paced, and it is extremely playable, but I occasionally notice some screen tearing which I am confident cant be superior for a FPS. The fastest IPS panel I am aware of is 5ms GTG, so if you want faster than 5ms, you wont be looking at an IPS panel anyway. I believe this is a excellent monitor. Comparing this to a TN panel, it has greater resolution, a far better aspect ratio, more accurate colors, and a lot far better viewing angle. Its only disadvantage is raw speed, a 2ms 120Hz LCD would be better for gaming. But this is still not poor for gaming and as soon as I finish writing this evaluation, Im off to Urban Terror for some quickly paced FPS.

Was torn between the Dell 24" IPS and this one, but decided to go with this one because of the tinting issues people have been reporting. Also, it got good reviews on other sites. I ended up buying 2 of these to replace the 24" HP IPS monitor I had. I was happy with the HP, but since I was upgrading my computer as well, wanted to replace everything. Besides, my wife and kids are happy since the HP replaced their old 19" LCD.Very easy on the eyes, photos and movies look fantastic.Using for a month now and when I'm at work, the two 22" LCD panels definitely don't look as good anymore.

As a digital artist who prints things, and a die-hard CRT advocate, I was reluctant to move to an LCD, but it was time. The picture on the ASUS ProArt PA246Q is amazing, crisp, and the colors are almost exactly true to print, right out of the box without calibration! No noticeable issues with ghosting when gaming (at least for me - I generally play RPGs and some Left 4 Dead) Major improvement over my laptop screen. Price point was a little higher than I expected to spend, but I did a ton of research before purchasing this model, and don't regret it for a second. Very, very happy.

Easy to set up, calibrates properly i1Match. Use for editing photos with Phase One P65+ back ࿜ megapixels, 16 bits color).Performs as expected with clean colors in Photoshop, much far better than I have ever owned.Exceptional cost. Extremely limited documentation in box.Not an LED panel, power use is acceptable but relatively high. Wish this panel had been 27 or 30 inch, perhaps soon as a follow-up ASUS?

i wanted a new monitor and a bigger one than the two i have already (a Viewsonic VA 912b and an ASUS VW224) and of course with 16:10 ratio since i prefer a bigger screen than the hdtv format one. The VW224 is already 16:10 and is perfect for all use.So my experience isn't too long but i received the monitor with ZERO defect (better be for this price !) no bad pixel moire or other curious and bad things.Even without big pictures the overall colors are really better than the VW (better be too) but wow what a blast, i needed to reduce the brightness at 2 ! But now its perfectly ok. Since i'm not a pro but an opensource dev + 3d design i didn't change any calibration and use the Adobe RGB module which is perfect for my use.I have a feeling that it will be of a great use like my VW224 is.Honnestly i had some fear to have one with problems, but i tested it since many hours without any problems, and it's a pleasure to discover again the movies, apps and games with this baby.A great buy, it worth the $500 !

Pros: awesome color and text unbelievably clear, super bright 1920 x 1200 display
Comment:
I was looking for another Asus VW 266H as I have one on my home computer and PS/3. However, the model was discontinued (too bad). I am a professional programmer by trade and spend at least 8 hours per day in front of a monitor. I read somewhere that an IPS panel is better than a TN so started the research and narrowed it down to this one and the Dell U2410.I chose this one as the Dell has known tint issues and maybe older technology. Or at least the Dell has been around for a couple of years. The Dell costs more as well.I am super happy with this monitor. Arrived quickly (thanks NCIX!) and no dead pixels, at least to my untrained eye. The stand works perfect and can be adjusted to the height I required.Color is awesome and the text is crystal clear on Windows 7. The brightness/contrast is beautiful and is really easy on my eyes. I could not be happier, especially for the price.
