Outstanding value. Needed one more SATA slot so I could run 4 HD and DVD SATA. Worked perfectly.

Pretty straight forward to install. Boot up computer, system will prompt for driver software when ready. Insert CD and... WHAT THE HECK?!? The CD that came with my card was totally scratched. My desktop would not read it. I tried it in my laptop and luckily it was able to be read. I browsed to the target directory and copied the files to a temp directory and proceeded with the software installation from there. Success on Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit. Phew! MassCool does not have the drivers available on their website. An email reply from MassCool support points to, like the previous reviewer states, to the Silicon Image website. Also, of particular note, is that you can only use either port, but not both simultaneously. It is a shared channel, selectable by jumper pins, to determine which port to use. I use it for eSata, so I get the 1.5Gbs rate.

Please note that the card is inexpensive; however, it does it work. Please contact MassCool service Dept if you need to download driver for Windows 7 - Mr. Roger Lo is a very friendly man. The card (SA-401) uses Silicon Image's chipset. Go to siliconimage web site to download drivers if needed or call Roger at 626-810-9885 ext.121. The e card comes with jumpers set for an internal drive. Move the drivers to their external position - see the manual. Tad

I installed this on my folks computer to connect to there external hard drive to backup there business information. The directions said to install the card first and then fallow up with the installation driver. I turned the computer off, installed it and i tried to turn the computer and it would not turn on. I thought it was to power supply b/c the light on the back of the power supply was blinking. I had our computer guy come over to replace the power supply. He replaces it and the same thing happens. Remove the PCMI card and the PC starts right up. I will buy from tigerdirect again. This was the only thing that they burned me on.
