Cons: Extremely sensitive to RF interference even at very close range, expensive for a product with such an obvious flaw

Pros: Very good audio fidelity for a wireless product, comfortable to wear for extended periods, good build quality, batteries last for 6-8 hours on average using standard aaa rechargeable.
Comment:
I purchased this product back in summer of this year after waiting more then 8 months for a western Canadian retailer to get stock. I read many reviews beforehand with many positive experiences which was a large factor in the purchase.I was a bit nervous prior to purchase as I live in a larger apartment complex in Burnaby with many WiFi networks in range, however I read several reviews with testing done in larger convention like spaces and specific points were made regarding very good performance even in crowded WiFi environments. After using my set of rs220 every day for the past 4 months I would recommend those considering purchase to be extremely cautious and aware of their housing situation before purchase. From my daily experience over the last 4 months I have had nonstop issues with WiFi interference causing short drops of audio throughout music playback. These drops are intermittent but extremely common, happening regularly throughout a standard 3.5 minute song. In addition the phones will sometimes experience other interference issues where the phones will cause 'slow' music playback, where for a short time words, music will stretch longer than it should only to recover on its own seconds later. I would like to mention I do not have my own WiFi equipment in my suite so any WiFi interference is coming from my neighbors. In addition I have no nearby cordless phones and the issue persists even with those phones disconnected from power. I have setup the headphone base directly in front of me, shoulder height, 3 feet from my head on a large desk. Despite this very close proximity the WiFi dropouts occur extremely frequently. I have sent sennheiser several emails and they acknowledge this as r/f interference. They also advise there is nothing that can be done about this problem as it is an issue inherent to the operating environment. unfortunately for people like me they decided to use DSSS technology, the same tech modern WiFi uses for wireless transmission.in the end whether this product is worth it or not will depend entirely on your living situation. If you live in and apartment I would be very hesitant to buy these or any other phones that use DSSS technology. If you live in a townhouse I would also be weary and check to see how many visible WiFi networks there are prior to purchases. Those lucky enough to live in a house should not worry as much and look forward to very good sounding headphones comparable to a set of high end wired sennheisers.
