This is a single strong drive. I'm expecting it will be discontinued quickly as the 6GB/s drive at the identical capacity is coming actual close to it's cost. I took a pair of these on sale and mirrored them for my system drive. What? 1 TB drives for the OS? Yes, they had been that inexpensive with discounts and free shipping that it was greater than smaller drives. None. They've been running fine. I'm noticing a LOT of WD drives in the recertified section. What's up with that?

More than the past few years, I have tended to keep away from Seagate Hard Drives, however, the price tag was correct on this one particular, and I figured, what the heck, I would give it a chance. I am pleased to say, that so far the drive has performed exceptionaly properly. No errors, loaded Windows 7 Ultimate in 30 min. Has been running 24ǝ for the final 4 months with no troubles with heat or something else. I would recomend this item. None so far. Drive did not come with any SATA cables. It is OEM, but I do want these businesses would incude at least 1 cable. I would not mind paying a couple of additional dollars for the OEM, alternatively of having to order a cable.

Performs as expected. Functionality is fine, no noticeable concerns with massive file copying or big chunks being moved. Bought two for RAID mirroring hook up and both function and had no concerns, no DOAs is generally a excellent thing. None. I wish I could right some major fancy overview, but basically place, it's a HDD that's functional, performs as you'd expect an SATA 7200RPM drive to and I have not had any difficulties in the four months I have had the drives.

n/a Started clicking on boot, following about a week. Then later while reading/writing. And ultimately died... after my 30-days with NewEgg was up.Nonetheless waiting on the RMA via Seagate. The replacement ultimately left the return center final night. After the faulty drive was in "Processing" for nearly 2 weeks. They didn't even acknowledge that they had received my return for the initially 5 days. I paid for delivery confirmation with the USPS so I know when it actually got there. And don't even get me started about their ridiculous packaging rules for returns. Luckily the Postal Anex down the road had some packing foam (NOT the peanuts) that didn't violate their asinine return policy. By no means ordering from Seagate again. PITA.

Affordable choice for a secondary storage device (I use a ten,000 RPM drive for the Windows 7 64-bit operating technique). Fundamental drive and uncomplicated to set up. Passed all drive tests soon after installation. Not silent, but not that loud either. It's a common 7200 RPM drive, so it's not that fast...but works fine for storing files. A decent cost for a TB of additional storage.

-Massive quantity of storage for a low cost-Decent speed out of a inexpensive drive None Don't be discouraged by the reviews saying the drive wouldn't function, and so on. The drives come un-formatted/un-partitioned and you will require to be in a position to format the drive to start using it. If you know how to format a drive, you're excellent to go.

1 TB HD...besides that appears like a fairly sturdy HD. Slid correct into my case, doesn't make a lot of noise, all in all performs. None but... to be decided. I will re post if it fails. I have never ever truly had a good knowledge with seagate. I have yet to meet a seagate drive that didn't fail on my within a year. Nonetheless I haven't used one particular in a lengthy time so I gave them a opportunity. However I'm not dumb I have a second WD HD for back up just in case.

Not a lot seriously; just a normal 1 TB hard drive HALF of all Seagate drives are defective.I don't know why I continue to get Seagate; I am going to stop obtaining their junk. About a year ago, I bought two 750 GB Barracudas, one particular failed correct right after I could RMA for a replacement (other is nonetheless functioning). So, I purchased a third a single due to the fact I necessary it for my RAID 1. (It is also nonetheless working)I just bought these two 1 TB Barracudas and a single was DOA and the other is working fine (so far). So, that makes 1 out of every 3 750 GB drives are defective and one particular out of each two 1 TB drives are defective. UNACCEPTABLE!To top it all off, Newegg wants me to spend บ to ship this drive back by means of UPS for a replacement!! Not delighted about that at all. Next time, I'll obtain from Am4z0n, they at least cover the shipping costs for RMA exchanges...The replacement far better not be defective or I will be even more angry...

I've owned it for ㅈ months and It's been excellent. Not even a single Hiccup. Moves data rapidly adequate (hey, its not an SSD!) Technically only 931 Gb after formatting, but that'll be the case for any TB drive Shipped OEM so be positive to have a SATA cable handy to hook it up. I would definitely acquire Seagate once more in a heartbeat!

The one I bought more than a year ago worked so properly that I got one more. Effortless install, fast format! No cables, be certain to have a SATA cable on hand. I don't like how Newegg ships these OEM drives, just in bubble wrap. Arrived completely in functioning order, but kinda makes me nervous, you know?

Newegg gets five for shipping, came securly wrapped in bubble wrap in a little box in a bigger box. No difficulties with shipment harmDrive is quick, Large, and has been running nicely for a week, which is past the fail point of half the undesirable critiques. Loud!Very audible reads and writes. The Loud was by perspective. This went into a SFF case that had just about no audio profile, the Earlier Hd in the case fell way below the dB of the common fans in the case. The R/Ws of this drive are way above the typical dB of the case.

Price I purchased 3 of these drives and all have failed. ALL Seagate has gone from a good quality solution to mediocre and inferior. Don't acquire this solution. Easy since its cheaper doesn't make it superior. There's a saying in spanish "lo barato siempre sale caro!" Translated suggests, "The cheap generally turns out pricey." I have purchased Western Digital and will only propose Western Digital.
