I threw this in my late 2006 model macbook and it works great. Its a lot faster then the old WD 5400rpm drive i had in there and its quieter. Good drive for the money. I use it to triple boot OSX, Vista and Fedora, works like a charm.

Got one on sale under $90, replaced the Hitachi noisy 160G 2.5" HD in a toshiba notebook. good performance and very quiet, most of the time can barely be heard. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-22-09 03:04 PM

Pros: Inexpensive, Lots of space

Good cheap upgrade for my ASUS EEE 1000H. Took out 80gb and put it in a 2.5" enclosure that I also bought and put in 320gb, well worth it, as I have all my pictures and videos there which I transfer via SD Card or USB.

Bought this drive to replace my dead Macbook HDD. Nice upgrade from the original 160GB and 5400RPM. It "feels" faster to me, but that could be just in my head. One thing for sure it's cheaper than AppleCare.

I bought this drive to fill the second HDD bay on my Acer 8920 laptop. Acer uses this drive as the OEM for this PC this is the biggest reason I chose it. It was on sale at $84 when I purchased it, this was the second deciding factor. This drive has no more vibration or heat buildup than any other laptop drive I've used. I would say it is almost vibration free in my opinion. In summary it works fine for me and I'm satisfied with it.

Got this as a surprise sale item. Great value for the price it was at ($65). Quadrupled the size that was in my laptop. Have never had a problem with Seagate drives (knock on wood) and their 5 year warranty is a bonus...err feature. Would buy again if it goes on sale to put in an external enclosure for portability.

Pros: fast for 5400rpm driveruns coolgood capacity

I bought one of these to upgrade from a 160gb Hitachi sata1 drive in my notebook. the install took literally 3 minutes and was extremely easy, anyone can do it. And not only did I double the storage space from 160 to 320gb, but the disk benchmarks show it's about 50% faster as well. It feels a little faster but subjectively it's hard to quantify so I used the benchmarks. It also runs about 7 or 8 degrees cooler on average. I'd definitely recommend this drive.

I bought this drive when it was on sale to replace the stock 80GB hard drive in my Eee PC 1000H.I am very happy with this drive, it runs very cool, quick and doesn't make much noise at all. And has the same power draw as the default 80GB drive.

Pros: Price on sale, quiet

What can be said.. it was a good buy.. it's quick for the class and makes an excellent portable drive if used with an appropriate case. No complaints here and comes with the usual Seagate warranty.. which is better than any others as a rule :)
