Cons: Need firmware update  to fix some bugsBetter if it has a base since it's light in weight. It could tip over easilyDifficult to determine the orientation/placement to achieve best coverage.Very little device supports ac right now

This is a v2.0R, 1.0R has been discontinued.Currently I would only give 3/5 for this latest router from TRENDnet, which is my favorite brand. I really like the web interface for admin, nice and clean. However, at its current 2.0.2 firmware I believe there are some errors in its wireless setting. For example, 802.11n set to "off" will force 802.11g. If you set it to "auto", then it seems to force 802.11n mode, which is opposite of what the user manual says.Now, the most important thing about wireless router is its signal and it really seems to depend on your end device, driver, o/s, channel etc. At 2.4GHz, its signal strength isnt that different than my current Actiontec modem router supplied by my ISP. At 5GHz, my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 really have trouble receiving it's signal. My 5th IPod Touch seems to have better connection at 5GHz. Now for 802.11ac. The only device I have with ac is my 2013 Macbook Air. Under OS/X it clearly tells me it is connected at ac mode, but under Windows7 it tells me it is connected at n mode. However, the connection speed is somewhere between 350Mbps to 480Mbps.So good like finding a device that can actually run at 1300Mbps.
