Cons: Not so fast (as expected)

Pros: Works, cheap, small form factor hard to hit
Comment:
Use it to replace an embedded card that broke. Have been using different usb but tend to hit them and bend the usb connector. Since this for factor is very small it can't happen. It is perfect for internet as is 802.11n but it is not suitable for large transfer with a home server or NAS for example.

Cons: - Doesn't work with WPA2 Enterprise networks; if your network requires a username and password, this adapter doesn't support that. I don't imagine that anyone in a corporation would be using this adapter, but WPA2 Enterprise is often used at universities, so students beware!- A bit slow at picking up new networks when you initially turn it on; it will always immediately pickup networks it has connected to before, but can take 5-10s to discover new networks.

Pros: - It DOES work with Mac OS X (Yosemite) if you install the right Realtek drivers (which is the manufacturer for the chipset inside)- Also works out-of-the-box with Windows 8.1, no extra drivers required (I've been using it on my Bootcamp installation)- Very small, so you can leave it on a laptop all the time and even put the laptop in a sleeve- Very reliable; haven't dropped any strong connections- The Realtek "Wireless Network Utility" that you can download provides a lot of useful information about the wireless connection; effective transmission speed, signal strength, etc.. Very useful if you are trying to debug a poor connection
Comment:
My 2011 Macbook Pro 15" had its wireless fail, and instead of repairing it, I went with this as a cheap solution. Macs are not officially supported by TP-Link, but once I googled a bit (before purchase), I realized that this is just a Realtek chipset inside, for which drivers are fairly readily available. Once you download Realtek's drivers, you also get a "Wireless Network Utility" app that allows you connect to networks, and shows more advanced info of the wireless connection (effective transmission speed over network, signal strength by %).I've also used this on my Windows 8.1 as a Bootcamp installation, where it works flawlessly with no extra drivers required. For such a compact adapter with an extremely small in-built antenna, it has excellent RX (receiving) signal strength, and mediocre TX (transmitting) signal strength. However, I have discovered one little quirk/trick: in some areas of my house, this adapter doesn't broadcast  a strong enough signal to my router, resulting in VERY slow connection speeds (21Mbps). Essentially, the tablet stylus is acting as a very large antenna for the adapter, greatly boosting the signal strength. If you buy this adapter, you may sometimes not get a good enough TX signal at far distances from the router, but placing a long metal pen/object next to it might fix your problem. Overall, would definitely buy again. For those who are DIY, you'll find ways to make this adapter work on unsupported operating systems (since the Realtek chipset is pretty generic) as well as extend the range.

I went out and bought this today to replace the one i broke because that one was sticking out so i accidentally stepped on it. This however, is the perfect size and gets the job done at the price. Overall, I am happy with it.

Cons: Connectivity problems. Slow speeds [see summary].

Pros: The drivers are included in the package.Price, paid $9.99.Small size.
Comment:
When I paid $10 for this I did not expect greatness. I did however expect average performance, about what I get from my built-in laptop wifi card.I bought this to put on my desktop that I just built which is located literally one floor up from the router I am connecting to.My laptop gets download speeds of ~1.8mps, with this card I am lucky to get more than 400kbs. I have installed the official drivers for my specific version # [#2.1] from the tpLink website and yet the spikes and lags in my connection persist. I have switched the router to 40mhz but I see no improvement.I would recommend buying a better product.btw. If you have a solution to this problem please let me know.

Cons: Drops connection frequently

Pros: Strong Signal
Comment:
Good price at $10 but you get what you pay for.It performs well in terms of bandwidth speed but my speed would drop  to 0 bytes/sec within a minute after hitting it's peak download speed (downloading games on Steam at 4.0 mb/s). I've tested this on 2 separate networks and after some google searching, this is a known issue with this adapter. I will be returning this in exchange for a different wifi adapter.

Cons: Connects at 20 Mbps

Pros: Maintains connection
Comment:
I am using it about 20 feet from the router going through 1 interior wall. My average connection is 20 Mbps and am unable to stream SD video while downloading at 300 Kbps.Performance is low by the 802.11g standard let alone the 802.11n router I am connecting to.If you are using it for basic web browsing it is fine but for online gaming, downloading, or using as part of a home network the performance is unsatisfactory.

Pros: Fast, quick and smallCheap
Comment:
This was a good buy. I picked it up for 9.99 for a machine that couldn't be near a wired connection. For this price it would be more costly to buy 50ft of cat 6 cable and then running it between the router and the machine. So far connections seem to be solid.

I bought it to replace a dying wireless n pci card. Performance was a bit lower but more stable. The size was perfect that I was able to plug it in the front of the case and it wasn't noticeable plus better wireless reception. My computer is 8 meters away and 1 wall from the router and the connection is still good.

I'm at less than 10 feet from my 300mbps antenna and I'm connected at 20-30mbps. But for the price, I don't really bother. I wanted this form my RaspberryPI and it work like a charm.

Comment:
Got it for an old PC for WIFI connection. It price is relative cheap. The USB adapter is small in size and yet performs quite well in a distance of about 3 meters from the router but with quite a number of electronic devices in between. The driver installation is fine and the TP-LINK wireless utility works decently. Use it for a longer time period to see how reliable it is.

Pros: Cheap, small, works
Comment:
Works quite well. For a tiny device and at this cost no real complaints. Between two walls, and about 25 feet from router getting good connections Driver on CD wasn't the greatest (v1), downloaded drivers from site proved more stable.Does like to disconnect from time to time but otherwise more then acceptable for price.

Cons: mini-driver-cd falls out of vertical drive bays

Pros: Small, simple
Comment:
This tiny little USB network card works fine in Win7. Choosing the 'driver-only' install option is sufficient. No need to install it's own connection manager utility ( intended for earlier operating systems) although there is no harm if you do (just take it out of the startup folder...)

This adapter was great when I moved my computer to a different room, the router was right below me and I got full bars. I really have no complaints towards the actual thang, other than the range is kinda crap if your 2 average size rooms away from the access point. the driver is okay too, I just don't like the colour scheme ;)

It was super easy to setup. Driver mini disc was also included, but wasn't needed.Just plugged the unit into the Win 7 laptop, found & installed driver within the minutes.Even though only tested as far as 20-25 ft away from the AP, signal strength is alway at full strength, so I'd say it was a good receiver as well.Overall, for the price point and and performance, I highly recommend it
