Cons: Displayport power save issue...but no biggy really.

Pros: BrightClearAccurateLiterally the best
Comment:
I bought the monitor through Dell when it went on sale a while ago, but deemed it appropriate to write a review here as I do buy most of my components from here. This is hands down the best monitor I have had to date. Also the largest, and with the highest resolution. The colours are just so brilliant and accurate, it is unbelievable. When I bought my macbook pro, I thought the screen on that was pretty awesome, but this, this is just incredible. You will not go back to a normal screen after having an IPS panel. Some people have mentioned an issue with the displayport where it decides to go into sleep mode after the computer has gone to sleep, and then not waking up when you wake the computer up. To resolve this you have to do a power cycle on the monitor-an issue for some. I have had this happen to me a few times on my mac, but over the last month it didn't do it, so I don't think it's a huge issue. If you use DVI or HDMI it definitely isn't a problem.

Cons: wake up time is slow

Pros: Bright colors, sharp text, USB hub/card reader

Fantastic monitor. It is a pleasure to read from. The anti-glare issue that is often mentioned is not noticeable to my eyes.

Cons: You can buy a 60" television for this price.Gamers may have to upgrade video card.

Pros: Great colorGreat resolution
Comment:
Admittedly, I am not a huge monitor expert, however, not only is this the best monitor I have owned, it is one of the best I have seen. It is a true pleasure to use.I have also owned Trinitron CRT, Samsung IPS and BenQ TN.I use it for heavy browsing, gaming, CAD, video and light photo.I plugged it in, did some adjusting and am very impressed.Unfortunately my system has dropped a few frames during game-play and my HD5870 is now feeling a little sluggish.

Cons: super nice resolution means super nice graphic card required for gaming.

Pros: This is one of the monitors I always been wanting to get but just couldn't because of its price, after it dropped from 999 to 899 i decided to get it finally, and I am loving it!
Comment:
Be prepared to have a very nice video card if you plan to game on this monitor, i use the gtx 580 and most recent games wont run past 60fps on this resolution if u add AA. And for a particular game i play called APB, it doesn't support sli and my gtx 580 runs the game around 40fps on max settings. So if you have only an average graphic card, first get a better one then go for the monitor.

Cons: Size and Design of the Chassis

Pros: Great Picture Quality, Excellent High Resolution, Very Bright Backlight
Comment:
All in all this is a fantastic monitor. The picture quality and color depth is fantastic. The menus for adjusting the monitor are also very intuitive and some of the best I've seen on a monitor. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a high resolution monitor or to somebody who requires better color and picture quality than your run for the mill bargain options. Only gripe I have is I think Dell should really update  the look of the chassis and stand for this monitor as well as thin it out a bit as it's quite a bit larger than some of it's competitors at the same price point.

Cons: - Anti-glair makes the image almost look dirty, like you got dsut on your screen.- Built in backup speakers are MIA- Blue colors do not seem that blue and almost washed out compared to my other monitors.- Expensive, even with a PM

Pros: - 2560x1400- Good stand- Good viewing angles
Comment:
I primarily got this for the bigger resolution. I could easily see the difference in games. I also like the fact I got no viewing angles issues. The stand is also easy to adjust. My biggest concerns would need to be the fact it does not have speakers. It already takes up so much space I do not really have room for more speakers, so im forced to use my headphones all the time now... I also notice that it looks grainy when you look up close because of the anti glair...

Cons: It produces more heat than other LCD's, and that could be noticeable to people who sit very close.60Hz refresh, but I can't see any issues with that.

Pros: Amazing image resolution and color.Super for my purposes with images and HD video.Price was fine with price-match.I got good information from NCIX
Comment:
I've been prepared to pay extra for good monitors, starting with a $1200 Trinitron in the 90's - through Samsungs and Viewsonic. All CRT. It was becoming clear that I would need a new monitor and that it would be LCD. I get to work with quite a few LCD's and wasn't too impressed.I was impressed with this one out of the box! One of my concerns was with font size, but clarity is so good that it hasn't been an issue. The monitor is a perfect size for my desk - and is a vast improvement in terms of weight and heat of huge CRT's.Cables (6') are provided - dual-link DVI and HDMI - but with a monitor of this size and connections - it would be worth checking if 10' cables would be better, depending on how you set things up.So far no pixel issues, and all the monitor has to do now is keep working as it is, for a few years!

Cons: - ... umm price? (price match this beast and I can find absolutely no fault with it - it is worth the price!)

Pros: - Brilliant colours- 2560 x 1440 resolution- Huge screen - No noticeable input lag in games- No backlight bleeding- Solid base and design- Multiple inputs-
Comment:
I have owned many monitors over the years. One of my favorites was my old NEC CRT that cost me nearly $1100 10 years ago and weighed 75Ibs. After having gone through several LCD screens (forgive me I don't recall their model numbers however I have owned Samsungs, Dells, BenQ and Acer's) I can say with full confidence that nothing has come close to this one!!!This is one gorgeous monitor to look at. I bought this purely for gaming and I couldn't be happier. There is no noticeable input lag if that is a concern, the colours are vibrant, text is clear and sharp (no fuzziness even in games), there are no issues with viewing angles, and it has every input you could possibly desire for a monitor in this price range.I typically play MMO's and RTS games. The colours and effects have never looked better. It is truly a pleasure everytime I play.If you are sitting on the fence then trust me you will have no regrets if you purchase this monitor. Absolutely recommended.

Cons: Produces quite a bit of heat, but it's not that noticeable during the winter.

Pros: Great Picture quality, many useful inputs and one of two monitors that sports a 2560x1440 resolution. It is also very bright (Never found a need to increase the brightness over 50%).
Comment:
Great picture quality. No noticeable input lag when gaming. It's very fun to play games at a 2560x1440 resolution. I don't think you'll be able to find a 27 inch monitor that's better than this one.

Cons: Price, though IPS panels are always expensive because of quality. The anti-gloss finish on the screen takes a bit of getting used to especially on white backgrounds (which is the only time you notice it). This may be too much for some users compared to the glossy version (see 27" iMac).

Pros: Amazing pixel pitch. No other monitor available at 2560x1440 for 27" (rest are 1980x1200 or 1980x1080). Brilliant colour. Competitive input lag (~29ms) compared to smaller LCDs (only important if your a competitive FPS player). Comes with all types of video cables it can accept! (HDMI, D-DVI, Displayport)
Comment:
Epic price after price match. This monitor is 100% worth your money. After years of buying the cheapest LCDs I could find I finally did some research into TN vs IPS LCDs. Just do a few google searches and watch some videos on youtube of this screen compared to TN panels. The colours and viewing angle are just amazing.NOTE: Be sure to use a DUAL LINK DVI cable to attach this to your GPU (Provided with this monitor). The old Monster DVI cable I had was single link and made the text unreadable. Some quick googling fixed this. Use the less appealing one that came with the monitor.

Absolutely b far the best gaming LCD I have ever owned...amazing picture quality..outstanding!!!Be sure to use DVI D "Dual Link 24+1 Pin....as the 1920 x 1200 DVI D Single Link cables will not function properly.Highly recomend this monitor, particularly if your running a multi GPU high end machine!!

Comment:
I bought the U2711 from BestDirect some weeks ago, and from my experience I can say that it is an extremely nice screen, for who is able to afford it. However, heat is an issue since I can't see well and the heat directly comes onto my face.

Cons: Only own one. Seriously, can't find a weakness yet.

Pros: Colors are amazing. Super high resolution in a smaller footprint.
Comment:
I ordered this September 1st on a killer PM and regret having only bought one. I spent the extra $40 on the zero dead pixel guarantee but didn't need it. It was flawless out of the box. If you can't spring for the Dell 3008, this model is a fantastic alternative, and it doesn't suffer from the pink-hue bug of the 24" IPS monitors.

Cons: Bezel could be a little more slim/attractivebroke my bank

Pros: ips panel - wow, how my photos should look! lcd real estate - 2560x1440! tons of hookups in the back!
Comment:
After much deliberation I decided to take the plunge into the holy grail of lcd monitors. I opted for the 27 instead of the 30 due to the quicker response time. (6ms as opposed to 12ms of the 30 inch)The colors on this ips panel are accurate and each monitor is calibrated before shipping. Imagine 2 side by side. unf.
