Cons: Of the disadvantages, this monitor is power hungry and does dissipate quite a bit of heat. The large size increases the minimum sitting proximity, so a small desk will strain one's neck and eyes.

Pros: ZR30W is everything it claims to be. The real estate area huge and the resolution is to-date unbeatable. My unit had zero dead pixels or similar issues. The screen is very bright and color-rich. No gradient coloring that plagues cheaper IPS panels as ZR30W features true 30-bit pixels that yield over a billion colors.The colors are very rich and slightly over-saturated right out of the box. However after installing the ICC color profile it was noticeably better. Still, and as mentioned in other reviews, this screen can benefit from hardware color calibration, especially for professional photography.The monitor worked from the first time using the dual-DVI link. However it wouldn't work with the DisplayPort while the system boots and in BIOS. There is occasional flicker which is probably due to the high-frequency dual-DVI. This can be controlled from the video-card drivers.I didn't find the lack of on-screen display a limitation, as I had very little need to change anything. The brightness is easily controllable as well as switching between dynamic and static contrast. I couldn't find noticeable difference with dynamic contrast while watching movies, and since switching back and forth is tedious, I leave it on static at all times. The four USB ports are very handy for flash drives, keyboard and mouse as well as connecting portables. I'm also making good use of the large tilt and swivel angles, especially for watching movies.
